Chapter 61
When Bennie heard that, he took off back to his room. I was about to follow him when Ben tapped me on the arm. “Ace, don’t forget, next week you leave on your vacation.”
“So soon?” I asked.
Ben giggled. “Bennie’s been out of school almost two months now.”
“Gee, time flies when you’re having fun.”
“Sir, can you do a letter giving Bennie permission to take the cruise with me?”
“Why, won’t the letter you already have suffice?”
“I don’t know and I’m not about to fight with them only to have our tickets cancelled.”
“Alright, I’ll get that for you.”
I’ll contact the Baltimore office and make arrangements to have a vehicle here so we can head right to the pier.”
“How long with the drive take?” Ben asked.
“When I looked online, it said it should take about an hour to get to the pier. Boarding starts at noon so we’d have to leave here about 11:30.”
“You know Tonka is going to miss you both, don’t you?”
“I know sir; can you ask Johnny to spend some time with him so he won’t feel neglected?”
“I will talk to him.” Ben said.
“Thanks Sir.” I replied then headed down to the bedroom.
When I walked into Bennie’s room he was sitting on the bed hold the remains of his laptop. “I hate her baby. Look at this, it’s totaled.”
“Did you try to turn it on?” I asked.
He shook his head. “No, I didn’t want anything loose in there to go flying around.”
Just then an idea hit me. “Come on love,” I said getting up and heading for the door.
He set his laptop on his bed. “Bring that too.” I said.
He gave me a weird look but did as I asked. “What do you have in mind baby?”
I went into my desk and found my computer tools. “Hand it to me.”
He did then I closed the lid and turned it upside down. I took out a small Phillips screwdriver and removed four screws. I looked into the drawer and found the case I needed then slid the hard drive out. “What are you going to do?”
“Watch carefully baby,” I said as I took the hard drive then hooked it to the case.
Once that was done, I found the cable and plugged it into the case. I turned on my PC and waited for it to boot then entered the required password. Once that was done, I plugged the USB cable into an open port and waited. I heard a clunk sound which told me the hard drive was working. I opened it and saw the files Bennie had on it. Bennie gasped, “Ace, it’s working.”
“Yes it is baby.” I said and smiled at him. “How come you didn’t think of this?”
“I was too upset knowing my laptop was trashed.” Bennie answered. “So what can we do now?”
“Let’s go talk to your dad.” I said.
Bennie was out the door like a shot. “Dad, dad Ace got the hard drive on my old computer to work.”
Ben was sitting there looking dumfounded. “What are you talking about son?”
“My trashed laptop,” Bennie started. “Ace took the hard drive out and put it in a case then hooked it to an USB cable and plugged it into his computer and it works.”
“So you need a new machine, is that it?” Ben asked.
I heard Ben’s question when I arrived. “Well Sir, to be on the safe side, he should have a new hard drive too. I don’t know if JR can repair machines but I have a feeling the guts are totally scrambled.”
“I see,” Ben said as he sat there deep in thought.
“Baby, you know you should make Brenda pay for Bennie’s computer.”
“She did,” Bennie said. “She bought me that after we arrived here in Washington.”
“But that didn’t give her the right to trash it.” I added.
“Ace is right, just because she bought it doesn’t mean she can destroy it.” Ben replied.
“Ace, can you ask JR if he knows how to fix computers?” Bennie asked almost begging.
I nodded my head as I reached for my cell phone and made the call. “Yes Ace,” JR answered.
“Hey buddy, I know you’re a wiz with computers but how are you at repairing them?”
“That all depends. Dusty told me about Bennie’s machine. How bad is it?”
“I don’t know, he didn’t try to turn it on but I have a feeling it might be toast.”
“I’ll be up in a few minutes.”
“Thanks buddy,” I replied then ended the call.
“JR will come up and take a look at it.” I said to Bennie then he hugged me tightly.
Bennie and I headed back to my room to wait for JR. We didn’t have long to wait as we heard a light knock on the door. Bennie opened it and there was JR carrying a small briefcase. “Thanks loads for this JR.” Bennie said giving him a hug.
“You’re welcome Bennie. I was saddened when I heard your machine was trashed. Now I’m interested to see just how strong a laptop really is.”
I turn around and removed the external device and removed it from the case then hand it to JR. “Here is the hard drive.” I said as JR took it and slid it into the machine then pushed the power button.
We sat there and watched as the screen blinked then went dark. I undid the monitor to my PC then hooked it up to the laptop. After switching the laptop to external monitor mode, we saw the desktop. Bennie tried to access a file and it opened then we heard a pitiful grinding sound so JC quickly shut it off. “What was that?” I ask.
“I’m not sure. It might be the cooling fan blade scraping something.” JR replies.
“Can you fix it?” Bennie asks.
“I can try.” JR says. “I’ll have to find a manual on this model.”
“What about tech?” Bennie asks.
“Well, fixing laptops isn’t exactly in their job description. I can see if there is an agent would like to work on it in his free time.” JR replies.
“Wouldn’t it be easier to get a new laptop and just put the hard drive in it?”
JR thought for a minute. “Well, it might be. I guess it all depends on how bad the damage is inside.”
“JR, I need my computer.” Bennie said getting upset.
I brought him over to me and hugged him. “Don’t you worry baby, you’ll have a laptop.”
“Ace, you don’t have to buy me a new one.”
If I want to, why not?” I tossed back.
“Because you’ve bought me enough things.”
“That’s my right,” I said firmly.
“And if I say no.” Bennie tried to counter.
I shrugged my shoulders. “I’d do it anyway.”
“Richard Mason, you’re a hardheaded man.”
“Just as you are Benjamin Leland Jacobs, Jr.” I tossed back.
He folded his arms across his chest and tried to pout. “Bennie, you can be hardheaded.” JR said smiling.
“Hey, I thought you were my friend.” Bennie said sticking his bottom lip out.”
I stood up and kissed him. “Oh come on love, we’re only picking on you.”
“Baby, I don’t need you to buy me a new laptop.”
“OK, you can buy it then.” I relented then sat back and waited.
“Uh, I guess I’ll have to talk to Dad.”
“OK, let me know what he says.” I reply then wait.
He stood there thinking then he went out of room. “I think you’ll be getting him a laptop.” JR said winking at me.
“I think so.” I said as Bennie came back in. “So what is the verdict?”
“He said I’d have one before I started school. Ace, I can’t wait that long.”
“Well baby, I guess you’ll have to.”
He was fighting back the tears. “It’s not fair. I hate her.”
I stood up and Bennie was in my arms letting the tears fall. “Calm down baby, we can go shopping tomorrow. Maybe the office will have a laptop I can buy for you.”
He lit up at that. “Alright darling,” He said planting a kiss on my lips then got carried away.
I broke the kiss then pulled his ear close to my mouth. “Easy lover, we’re not alone.”
He turned red, “Oh, sorry.”
I looked at JR and I could tell he had a definite problem. “Sorry there buddy.” I said as JR had to stand to realign his now hard tool.
“Ace, can you call over to the Main Headquarters?” Bennie asked.
“Alright love, I don’t know if there will be anyone in the office.”
I pulled my cell out and called Ed. “Headquarters US Secret Service, Special Agent Miller speaking; how may I help you?”
“Hi boss, is there someone from tech still there?”
“I don’t know; I’ll send your call over there.”
The phone rang and rang so I guess all the techs took off. After about a dozen rings Ed picked up again, “Agent Miller.”
“No answer there boss.” I said.
“Why do you need tech?”
“Well, we have a small problem here.”
“Why is it your definition of small and mine are different?”
“I guess our measuring sticks are different sizes.” I said with a giggle.
“What’s the problem Ace?”
“Well, Brenda had a hissy fit and trashed Bennie’s laptop.”
“So why do you need tech?”
“Well, I was wondering if they any laptops I might be able to buy.”
“Why don’t you look online at say Best Buy?”
“Yeah, I guess I could but do you happen to know if there might be a unit you’re willing to sell?”
“I don’t know. I’ll talk with the team and see. We might have one that was pulled from service because we’re upgrading from Windows 7 to 8.
“Alright Ed, let me know because Bennie is down in the dumps without his toy. Don’t you go and take my laptop now.”
“Why not?” Ed asked. “It will need to be upgraded.”
“Because I like mine just fine. I know the operating system and how to find my files.”
“We’ll see Ace,” Ed replied.
“When I’m dead and buried, then you can have it.”
“How about we bury it with you?” Ed asked.
“I’ll be dead so I don’t care what you do. I’ll talk to your later.”
“What’s up?” JR asked.
“Just great, they’re upgrading computers to Windows 8,” I answered.
“I’ve heard a lot of unfavorable things about that. Personally I don’t like it and a touch screen is just something to break.”
“Aren’t you the Agent in Charge?” I asked.
“Yeah but no one ever said anything to me about upgrading.”
“With all the budget cuts, I don’t think we should be worrying about upgrading our computers. Windows 7 is still a viable Operating System.”
“Maybe you should talk to The President about it.” I said.
I saw JR thinking. “Do you think he’d be receptive to my thoughts?”
“There is only one way to know buddy.”
We decided to talk to Ben. He was in the living room cuddling with Chris. “Excuse me Sir,” I said.
“What is it Ace?”
JR came over. “Well Sir, I just learned that we’re replacing computers to upgrade to Windows 8.”
“Isn’t this something that needs to be done?”
“Maybe Sir, but not right now. Windows 7 is still functional and browsers are capable of using 7 so right now, when money is tight, I think we could better use the money someplace else.”
“You have a valid point. I’ll talk to Director Miller.”
“Thanks Sir,” JR replied then we headed back to my room. “I hope we don’t have to use 8 because I’ve tried it and it’s a real pain. It’s hard to navigate between two different things like we sometimes have to do.”
“I just got used to Windows 7. The last thing I want to do is learn something new only to have it changed on me again.”
“I can’t blame you. I don’t know if there are any laptops available with Windows 7 on them unless you order one.”
“That could take several weeks.”
“Yeah it could provided they could build one for you.”
I didn’t need to hear that. “Alright JR, I guess I better get looking to see what’s available.”
I turned on the PC and the let my fingers do the walking through the internet. I was hoping I could find a computer with Windows 7 on it so Bennie could transfer his stuff onto the new one in case the old hard drive crashed. My first stop was Best Buy and saw they had some discontinued models. I called the local store and spoke with the manager. He too had some discontinued models that had Windows 7. They had a faster processor than the model Bennie had and the hard drive was twice as big. I asked what he wanted for it and he told me I could get it at a 10% discount. I asked him if he could hold it and I’d be in tomorrow to pick it up and he graciously held it for me.
I ended the call then my phone rang again, “Hi Adam”
“Ace, how are you feeling?”
“I’m fine buddy, what’s up?”
“I just got a call from Judge Stein’s clerk.”
“Alright, what time do I have to be in court?”
“9 AM,” Adam replied.
“I’ll be there. If Lawson thinks he’s getting out on bond, he’s got another thing coming.”
“Easy now partner,” Adam replied.
“I am, we have enough evidence that if he’s allowed out, he’d continue trying to kidnap the boys.”
“I know we do so I’m not really worried either.”
“I’ll see you in court tomorrow morning.”
When I was on the phone JR had left to return to the West Wing office. I was about to find Bennie when he found me. “Come here lover.” He said wrapping me in his arms.”
“Are you trying to get something started?” I asked.
“My motor is already running.”
I felt his hardness as he ground his crotch against mine. “So I see baby. What time is it?”
“It’s almost 5.” Bennie whispered.
I took him by the hand then led him across the hall. As soon as the door closed, I was removing his shirt. Then I unsnapped his jeans and watched as they slid down his legs. “My, my. Someone is going commando, huh?”
He gave me a big toothy grin. “I wanted to make it easy for you.”
I ran my hands over his baby soft ass cheeks. “You don’t have to do that my love. I much prefer getting you undressed.”
Bennie took my shirt off and tossed it on the chair then undid my belt and then lowered my pants. “God baby, I’ve missed you and this.” Bennie hissed as he took my dick into his mouth.
I let out a soft moan when I felt his moist finger probing my back entrance then slide in and find my love nut. “OH God baby, I’m not going to last long at this rate.”
He gave me a lecherous grin. “That’s what I’m hoping for.”
“If you keep this up, I’ll fuck you silly.”
“Do you promise?” he asked.
Shit, he was way too easy. He wiggled his finger again and my nuts blew. “Ungh, I’m cumming.”
I unloaded into his mouth and he took every drop and swallowed. He cleaned me up then stood and kissed me deeply. I could taste the load I’d given him a few minutes earlier as our tongues dueled. I felt his tongue on my balls. I tapped him on the head and he looked up at me. “I blew all over you.”
Damn, I missed a load. I felt deflated when Bennie told me. “Why didn’t you say something?” I asked.
“I didn’t have time. I felt it coming and I couldn’t stop it.” He said as I hugged him tightly.
“It’s alright baby.” I said softly as I rubbed his back. “Come on; let’s get cleaned up so we’re not late for dinner.”
Bennie and I finished getting undressed then made our way into the shower. I managed to get Bennie washed without him trying for another round of fun and games. After Bennie rinsed off, he lathered my body then told me to rinse. While I was under the water, Bennie started washing my ass. He massaged my cheeks then slipped a finger in between them when I felt him wash my hole. “Turn around baby and let me get the soap out.”
I did as instructed then felt my lover wiggle a clean finger inside me. I moaned as I felt him rub my prostate causing my dick to begin to come back to life. “Come on baby, we don’t have time.”
“Don’t blame me, you’re doing it.”
Bennie reached up and turned the water on cold. “Argh, shit love, what are you doing? Are you trying to freeze my balls?”
I looked down and my jewels looked like I was a tween again. My dick had shrunk and my balls were trying to go inside my body for warmth. “Well, you’re not hard now.”
“Thanks loads,” I said grabbing the shower nozzle from him then hitting him in the crotch. “Shit baby, that’s cold.”
“Now you know how I felt.” I said warming the water back to a usable temperature.
We made sure all the soap was off of our bodies then we dried off and got dressed so we could have dinner. I was itching to have some of Gloria’s food. When we walked into the dining room, Ben was in a somber mood and Bennie saw it right away. “What’s wrong Dad?”
He smiled at his son. “Oh nothing son, I was just thinking.”
“What about?” Bennie asked.
I thought I had an idea but I decided to remain quiet. “Your grandmother.” Ben answered.
“You’re not worried about her so-called threat, are you Sir?” I asked.
“Actually Ace, that’s exactly what I’m thinking about.”
“Why Dad?” Bennie asked.
“Let’s just say, I can never underestimate a judge.”
“You don’t think she’d get a chance to spout her rubbish, do you?” Bennie asked.
“I don’t know son.” Ben answered. “Judges are leaning towards grandparents all the time.”
“Look, I’m an adult and no one walks into my room unannounced. I’ll get a pad lock and put it on my door, if I have to.”
“I never thought it would resort to that but if that’s what it takes, then do it.” Ben replied.
“Sir, she’d never force a judge to open secure rooms to her.”
“I would hope not because it would set a bad precedent.”
“I know but if it comes to it, we’d no longer be able to allow guests to stay at the residence.”
“DAD, that would mean Jake and Carl wouldn’t be able to spend the night.”
“Not really,” Ben said with a grin. “They could stay because they know the rules here.”
I saw Bennie relax. “The first person who tried to push things would be asked to leave.” Ben elaborated.
“Dad, could we have charged gramma with trespassing?”
“In theory yes, but I don’t want it to come to that.” Ben answered then Gloria came in with our evening meal.
Señor Ace, I’ve made you all of your favorites. Tacos, burritos and enchiladas.”
I was in heaven. “Oh thank you Gloria.” I said as my mouth started watering.
She set the trays on the table then she lifted the covers and the fest was on. I stuffed myself silly and I had to stop before I made myself sick. As it was most nights, there weren’t any leftovers.
“Dad, may I be excused?” Bennie asked.
“You may son,” Ben replied.
When Bennie got up, I looked at Ben and he nodded his head so I excused myself and went with Bennie down to his room. As soon as we were alone, Bennie was in my arms. “It’s so good to have you home again.” Bennie whispered into my ear. “I didn’t know gramma was in your room. I can’t believe Tonka didn’t alert that something was wrong.”
I went over to the bed and sat down. “Don’t worry about that now baby, it’s water under the bridge.”
“You don’t think gramma will try and sue Dad, will she?”
“I don’t know son.” I started. “I would hope that when she talks to an attorney, they’ll tell her like it is.”
“What would they tell her?”
“For starters, she can’t come in here ordering people to do things.” I answered.
“She thought she owned this place.” Bennie said.
“I’m glad she wasn’t in the West Wing. She’d have had her hands full with all the agents there and wouldn’t have gotten her anywhere.”
I was about to get under the covers when there was a knock on the door. “Come in,” Bennie said.
We thought it might have been Ben or Chris but it was Dr. Phillips. “Hi Doc, what brings you here?”
He had his bag with him. “I’m going to check your blood pressure.”
“Oh, sorry doc, with everything that happened today, I clean forgot to go out and get one. I’ll do that tomorrow on my way back from court.”
Dr. Phillips had his cuff in his hand so I held my arm out for him. He wrapped it around my arm then put his stethoscope in his ears and started inflating it. A few seconds later, he was done. Bennie looked at him. “How is it?”
“116/76” Dr. Phillips answered.
“Not too bad.” I said.
“Now don’t forget to take your medicine in the morning.”
“He won’t Doc, I’ll remind him.” Bennie said wiggling his finger at me.”
I wrapped my arm around his shoulder and drew him into a hug. Before I got comfortable for the evening, I went over to my room. I had to find the bag the hospital gave me. I found it on the bed so I stuck my hand inside and felt around then found my medicine bottles. I took them out and read the labels. I had to take one pill from each bottle every morning. I brought them back to Bennie’s room then crawled into bed. Bennie and I got comfy and watched a movie.
Bennie and I were snuggled together watching television and that’s the last thing I remember until the next morning. Bennie was still wrapped in my arms sleeping soundly with his morning wood poking me. I manage to get out of bed then head to the bathroom and take care of my morning business. After I emptied my bladder, I decided to take my shower so that is out of the way. Before I started the shower, I went across the hall and got a clean suit to wear to court.
I found a clean white shirt and grabbed that then returned to Bennie’s room. He’s kicked the covers down so his cute ass his showing. I thought about patting it but decided to let him sleep. I glanced at the clock and it’s 7:30 so I reached down and stroked his soft globes of flesh. “Oh, not yet,” Bennie moaned as he pulled the covers up.
“Come on baby, it’s 7:30 and breakfast will be served in thirty minutes.” I answered him as I started the shower.
He started to wake up then heard the water running then he bolted from the bed and into the bathroom. After he peed, I gave him a kiss. “Morning baby.”
“Did you have to have the water running?”
“I need a shower and you know I have court this morning.”
“Oh yeah, I remember.” Bennie replied as he returned my kiss.
“Come on and get in so you can wake up.”
Bennie decided to join me to I helped him into the shower. I had to wash him because he was still half asleep. When I got to his crotch, his dick stayed soft as I gently washed it and his balls. I got him under the spray then went to work on my body. By the time I was clean, Bennie was finally awake. I cut the water off then gave him a towel then started drying myself. When I was dry, I stepped out into the bedroom and put my undies on then my trousers. I put my tee shirt on then went to put my shirt on. “Love, where is your vest?”
In my haste to get my clothes, I’d forgotten it so I went back to my room and got it. I put it on then returned to Bennie’s room and finished dressing. I reached into my night stand and get my weapon then slipped it on my belt. “Come on love, get dressed unless you’re eating in the nude.”
I head out to the dining room while Bennie dressed so I could get a cup of coffee. I fixed myself a cup and sat down then I was joined by Chris and Ben. I stood up and give Chris a hug. “How did Bennie sleep last night?”
“He slept fine,” I start. I fell asleep during a movie and he was still asleep when I woke up this morning. He’s in the shower.”
No sooner had I got the words out when Bennie came into the dining room. I fixed him his morning coffee and set it in front of him. He took a sip then seemed to join the land of the living. “Morning son,” Ben said smiling.
“Uh, morning dad,” Bennie replied sipping the hot liquid.
“Did someone have a hard night?”
Bennie shook his head. “No dad, I fell asleep in Ace’s arms last night. I guess I made up for the other night.”
Bennie leaned his head against my shoulder and looked up at me. I kissed the top of his head as Gloria brought breakfast in. This morning she made her Mexican omelets for us. When she set my plate in front of me, I dug in and grabbed a big piece remembering not to shove it into my mouth as the middle had steam coming out of it. I blew on it then felt it was safe enough to eat. After I had devoured the meal, I went to the room to get my morning medicine. I took a pill out of each bottle then washed them down with my coffee. Bennie looked up at me. “Did you just take your medicine?”
I kissed him on the cheek. “Yes I did love.”
He returned the kiss. “Don’t you ever forget now. I don’t want you back in the hospital.”
“I won’t baby,” I answered to him.
I looked at the clock then had to get my butt in gear. I gave Bennie another kiss then got my stuff for court. Bennie came down with me and let Tonka do his business as I went over to my Charger. I got in and started the engine then headed for the back gate. As soon as I was on the street, the morning traffic was terrible. It took me almost thirty minutes to get to the courthouse but I made it on time. There was a new guard by the police entrance so I had to show my credentials before he’d open the door.
I made my way to Judge Stein’s courtroom then went in. I saw Adam at his table going over some papers. As soon as the door closed he looked up and saw me heading for him. “Hi Ace, I was hoping you wouldn’t forget.”
“Not a chance.” I answered then sat down beside him. “So what is the plan?”
“I’m not going to let Lawson try the case today.” Adam answered as I saw the side door open and a Marshall lead him in. “Now sit down and don’t move unless you want to be chained to the chair.”
“Well, I see the great Agent Mason finally decided to make an appearance.”
I just glared at him and let him run his mouth. I knew sooner or later he’d step in it and Judge Stein would let him have it with both barrels. “All rise; this court is now in session, the Honorable Judge Irving Stein presiding.”
The Judge took his seat then sat down. “Be seated. Alright Bailiff, what do we have this morning.”
“Your Honor, this is an arraignment of Maurice Lawson. The charges are conspiracy to commit kidnapping.”
Before Judge Stein could say a word, Lawson was on his feet. “At this time Your Honor, we ask the charges be dismissed.”
“On what grounds?” Judge Stein asked glaring at Lawson.
“Lack of evidence,” Lawson replied.
“Motion to dismiss is denied.” Judge Stein quickly returned.
“So Your Honor is now allowing the government to entrap people?” Lawson shot back.
“Mr. Lawson, I am the one who signed your arrest warrant and I can assure you, you were not entrapped.”
“Is that so?” Lawson said causing Judge Stein to glare at him.
“Don’t push your luck counselor.” Stein said.
“If I might be allowed to call a witness,” Lawson tried.
<BANG BANG BANG>
“Be seated at once and remain silent unless I speak to you. Do you understand me?” Judge Stein growled.
“Yes Your Honor.” Lawson replied then sunk down into his chair.
“Mr. Graham, does the prosecution have a recommendation for bail?”
“Yes we do, we request he be held without bail.”
“Objection,” Lawson yelled as he stood then Judge Stein glared at him once again.
“I’d like to know how you managed to graduate law school when you cannot follow a simple instruction. I told you to sit down and remain silent unless I speak to you. Did I speak to you?”
“No, Your Honor.” Lawson replied meekly.
“That’s right and that will cost you $100.00. If I have to speak to you again, the fines will double and you’ll be adding jail time. NOW SIT DOWN!”
Once again Lawson saw down and glared at me. “Mr. Graham, Mr. Lawson is a member of the bar.”
“I understand that but if he is released he will continue to try and kidnap two small children.”
Lawson started to stand but thought better of it. Judge Stein looked at him. “What do you have to say Mr. Lawson?”
“This is preposterous.” Lawson said.
“Your Honor, if I may.” Adam said.
“Proceed.”
I refer you to the transcript of recording.” Adam said. “If you look at the passage highlighted in green where Mr. Lawson wants the children brought to him by any means necessary. If Mr. Lawson is allowed out on bail, we firmly believe he will attempt to carry this out.”
I was looking at Lawson who was looking at Judge Stein. I saw the jurist deep in thought then he looked out at us. “Mr. Graham, you have a valid point here and one the bench takes seriously. Mr. Lawson, you are hereby remanded without bail.”
“Your Honor.” Lawson shouted.
“That will cost you $200.00 and 10 days in jail. This court is now adjourned.”
We stood as Judge Stein left the bench and returned to his chambers. “What now, what about Phillip Ware and the Babcocks?” I asked.
“They’re next up.” Adam said.
I wanted to see the Babcock’s try and get out of this one. I didn’t have long to wait as two Marshalls brought them into the courtroom. James looked over at me. “I want my grandsons NOW!” He shouted as a Marshall came over and pushed him into his seat.
“Sit there and remain quiet or you’ll be gagged.”
The woman began to speak when the female Marshall put her hand on Ms. Babcock’s shoulder. “Don’t think I won’t gag you either. Now sit down.”
No sooner had she sat when the door opened and the bailiff announced, “All rise; this court is now in session, the Honorable Judge Irving Stein presiding.”
As soon as he took his seat he replied, “Be seated. What do we have this time bailiff?”
“We have another arraignment Your Honor. “James and Rachel Babcock are charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping.”
“This party keeps getting better all the time. How to the defendants plead?”
I looked over and saw Lawson sitting with them. “This will be interesting.” I whispered to Adam.
Mr. Lawson stood, “My clients plead not guilty and they wish to address the court.”
“Very well Mr. Lawson, which one wishes to speak?” Judge Stein asked.
Rachel stood and looked over at me. “That man has denied us our grandchildren and we want to see them. We’re the only living relatives they have.”
Adam stood and looked at the jurist. “Your Honor, it is those very children they want kidnapped. We don’t feel it would be in their best interest if they were to be brought to the jail.”
Adam sat down. “If they have to go, I’ll have a contingent of Secret Service agents with them.” I whispered to him.
He nodded his head then we heard the Judge clear his throat. “I’ve given this matter all due consideration. It is the opinion of this court that it must consider the best interests of the children. Accordingly this court cannot allow the children to be brought anywhere around the defendants. If and when you have cleared yourselves of these charges, then and only then will you be allowed to be around them.”
Lawson stood. “We object.”
“Objection over ruled.” Judge Stein replied. “The defendants are ordered held without bond until their trial. This court is now adjourned.”
We stood until the judge went into his chambers then the Captain started shouting. “Those are our grandchildren.”
“Children that you hired people to kidnap,” I shot back.
“They belong with us and they have no understanding of what they’re going to receive.”
“They will have a trustee appointed for them.” I said.
“We’ll see about that.” Babcock said as he and his wife were led from the courtroom.
While we were waiting, my cell rang. I went to the back of the courtroom so I could take the call. “Mason.”
“Ace, it’s Dusty. We have a situation here.”
“I’m listening,” I replied.
“There is a demonstration of skinheads marching outside the White House.”
“Have they turned violent?” I asked.
“Not yet,” Dusty replied. “Shit, some damn church group is out there too and it looks like tempers are getting short.”
“Alright, call Capt. Langford and get uniforms out there and then get hold of Dylan Masters and have his team ready to move at a moment’s notice. I don’t want shots getting fired.”
“I’m on it Ace, thanks.” Dusty replied then ended the call.
I was about to take my seat again when I saw Judge Stein sitting behind the bench. “I’m glad you could join us Agent Mason.”
“My apologies Your Honor, this was a business call.”
“I accept your apology, now may we get on with the business at hand?” He asked as I quickly took my seat.
Once I was in my place I heard the bailiff speak. “Your Honor, this is an arraignment. Phillip Ware is charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping.”
“This is becoming a real three ring circus. How do you plead Mr. Ware?”
Before he could speak, Adam spoke. “Your Honor.”
Judge Stein’s head snapped over. “Yes Mr. Graham?”
“If it pleases the court, we would like to talk with the defendant about a plea.”
Before Judge Stein could speak, Lawson interrupted, “NO DEALS; my client pleads not guilty and we ask the charges be dismissed.”
“Mr. Lawson, I don’t recall calling on you to speak. As for your motion, it’s denied. Mr. Graham, didn’t you have a chance to talk with Mr. Ware about a plea arrangement?”
“No, Your Honor.”
“Very well, I’ll give you thirty minutes. This court is in recess.”
Ware was sitting there quietly. Adam and I moved our chairs over so we could all sit down. Before we could Lawson started showing his ass. “Can’t you people listen, I said no deals.”
“Why don’t you stuff a sock in your mouth?” I shot back.
He went to stand up but a Marshall was on him. “Stay seated or you’ll be removed.”
“You can’t smart ass, that guy is my client.” Lawson shot.
“If you try and stand up again, just watch what happens,” the Marshall told him.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Lawson shot out again.
“Lawson, shut up or you’re fired.” Ware said getting tired of his shit. “Now, what do you have in mind?”
I saw Adam thinking. “First off you plead guilty. In return you’ll serve a year in federal prison and then you’ll be on supervised parole for another four. You’ll surrender your PI license.”
“What, hey that’s my livelihood,” Ware almost screamed.
“You should have thought about that before you crawled in bed with Lawson. Do you see what happens when your sleep with dogs? You wind up with fleas.”
Then Lawson stepped in it. He went to punch Adam but I was closer to him and I let him have it. He went flying out of his seat and landed against the rail. “Don’t try that again or you’ll get worse next time.”
“I want to press charges.” Lawson shouted causing Judge Stein to come out of his chambers.
“Just what is going on out here?” He shouted.
“Your Honor, Mr. Lawson tried to assault Mr. Graham but Agent Mason had to intercede.”
“I see, Mr. Lawson what do you have to say for yourself?” Judge Stein asked and he wasn’t happy.
“He baited me,” Lawson cried trying to defend himself.
“Oh did he now?” The jurist asked tapping his foot on the floor.”
“Yes he did.”
“What did he say?” Judge Stein asked.
“He said I have fleas.”
I had to slap my hand over my mouth to keep from laughing. Judge Stein was looking at me so I got it together quickly. “That’s not how it was put, Your Honor. He said sometimes if you sleep with dogs, you wind up with fleas.”
The jurist had to slap his hand over his mouth. I looked at Lawson lying on the floor and he was getting madder by the second. “See what I mean, he baited me.”
“You’re supposed to be a member of the bar and I know you were taught proper decorum. You tried to assault someone and Agent Mason did his job. That was cost you another $500.00 and 10 days in jail.”
Lawson leaped to his feet so I quickly stood as he took his seat and sunk down in it. “Can you finish these discussions without further incident?”
I looked at him. “Yes Your Honor.”
“Return Mr. Lawson back to his cell.” Judge Stein instructed.
“I’m his attorney.” Lawson protested.
“Mr. Ware, is that true?”
“He was until he shot his mouth off then I fired him,” Ware replied.
“Do you want another attorney?” Judge Stein asked.
“No Judge, I can take care of myself.”
“Are you sure?”
“I am.”
Adam looked at Ware. “So what is your answer?”
Ware thought for a moment. “I’ll take the deal.”
I looked at Adam. “Will you testify for the prosecution?”
“Yeah, I will.”
Adam pulled out his laptop and went to work on the deal. Adam was a wiz on the computer then I saw him reach into his briefcase and remove a small printer. It was slow but it got the job done. When everything was printed out, Adam talked to the bailiff then he was led into the Judge’s chambers. “You do realize, Lawson will try and discredit you the moment he starts to question you.”
“Let him, he’ll regret it.” Ware said. “I know enough to hang him out to dry for the rest of his life.”
“Alright, when you’re in prison, you’ll be in protective custody.”
“I can take care of myself.” Ware said.
“Are you sure?” I asked
He just nodded his head then I saw Adam and the Judge come out.
We moved our chairs back to our table as the Judge brought the court back to order. “Mr. Ware, I see you have entered into a plea agreement with the prosecution, is this correct?”
“It is Your Honor.” Ware replied.
“Very well, Mr. Ware, how do you plead?”
“Guilty.” Ware answered.
“In accordance with the plea agreement, I accept your guilty plea and sentence you to one year in a federal penitentiary to be determined by the US Marshall’s service. Upon your release, you will be on supervised parole for another four years. Take the prisoner into custody. This court is now adjourned.”
After Judge Stein left the bench, I looked at Adam. “Look, put him in protective custody. We need him to testify at Lawson’s and the Babcock’s trial.”
“I will Ace.” Adam replied as we packed our things then left the courtroom. On our way outside, I called Dusty back. “Yes Ace.”
“How are things outside?”
“Loud but they’re behaving.” Dusty answered.
“Good, meet me at the back gate with the Hummer and have Tonka with you too, please.”
“I will; c-ya in a few,” Dusty answered then he ended the call.
“What’s going on?” Adam asked.
“Ah, just a group of Neo Nazi’s and a homophobic Baptist church are demonstrating in front of the White House.”
“Oh lovely,” Adam said, rolling his eyes.
“Tell me about it. So far they’re behaving themselves but I want to get over there.”
“Alright,” Adam said as we got to our vehicles.
“Bennie and I leave next week so I’ll be out of town for a week.”
“Thanks for the reminder,” Adam replied as I got into my car and started the engine.
I back out of my spot then took off for the residence. The closer I got, the worse the traffic became. I saw cars slowing down and watching the people on the sidewalk and to top it off, news crews were adding to the bottleneck. I got on my radio and told the uniforms to get the news teams out of there because they were blocking traffic. I finally made it through and arrived at the back gate. Dusty and Tonka were waiting on me. “Man, it’s a zoo out there.”
“Yes it is and now reporters are adding to it. I’m going to have to get them to clear out.”
“They aren’t going to like that.” Dusty replied.
“Frankly, I don’t give a shit. I just want the traffic to keep moving and they’re causing the traffic jam.”
I reached inside the Hummer and found Tonka’s lead and put it on him. Before I could put him back inside, he took off for a tree. I let him do his business then whistled for him. He came running so I opened the back door for him. He hopped inside then we took off. I found a place to park then I got out and made my way into the sea of people. I saw a uniform officer going at it with a camera crew. “I have a right to be here.” The reporter said.
“Ma’am, you can’t obstruct traffic.”
“It’s not my fault so just move on,” she said.
I walked up. “Agent Mason, this person is refusing a lawful order.”
“Is she now,” I said.
“I have. . . ,” she started.
“Unless you want to find yourself and your crew in jail you’ll move on.”
“I knew you want to prevent us from our first amendment rights.”
“Write her a ticket for obstructing traffic and failure to obey a lawful order.”
“I’ll not sign it,” she replied puffing her chest out.”
“If you don’t you will be arrested,” I said.
“Why, I know you don’t want us reporting out in front of the White House.”
“All signing that ticket means is you promise to appear in court.”
The officer handed her the ticket and she scribbled her name on it. “Print your name under it please,” the officer asked.
She did like she was asked then the officer handed her the ticket. “Now ma’am, please move your vehicle or I’ll have it towed.”
“You’re worse than the Gestapo,” she said.
“Ma’am, just move the vehicle NOW,” I said.
She decided to push things. “And if I don’t?”
I saw a wrecker backing up to it. “I’ll let him tow it.”
“You fucking cop,” She screamed then butted me in the chest with her massive mummeries’.
The uniformed officer stepped in between us. “Ma’am if you do that again, I’ll arrest you for assault of a Federal agent.”
She backed off but her mouth kept going so I motioned for the driver to hook up to the camera crew’s vehicle. The cameraman ran over and started talking with the driver. When the uniform and the reporter were working on their issue I talked with the driver. “Let him move it but next time, just hook it and go.”
The driver hadn’t started hooking up to it yet so he nodded his head and moved on. The cameraman moved his truck to a metered spot. “Is that better?”
I nodded my head. “Yes it is, now tell your boss lady to control her mouth or it will get her into trouble. Also, don’t let the meter expire or you’ll get a ticket.”
“Yes agent, thank you.” He replied then I went over to the Hummer. I saw a uniformed officer busy writing away. “What are you doing?” I asked
“Writing this vehicle a ticket,” He answered as I opened the back door and took Tonka’s lead as he raised his head. “This is your vehicle Agent Mason?”
“Didn’t you enter the license plate into your computerized writer?” I asked.
“Umm, I skipped to the VIN number.” He answered.
“You mean to tell me you don’t know this Hummer as much as it’s parked at the residence?”
He turned red. “Uh, I wasn’t paying attention.”
“I suggest you do, Officer Karnes. Now you can cancel the ticket.”
“Yes Agent Mason,” he said as I walked off with Tonka.
People were gasping and making a hole as Tonka and I walked down the sidewalk. “Look here comes the Gestapo.”
“Yeah, it’s a fag lover.”
One of the church protesters decided to block my way and start ranting. I just stopped and asked him to move. “I don’t listen to fag lovers.”
He started to try pushing me but Tonka grabbed his wrist then brought him to the ground. “Off,” I said and Tonka let him go.
“That beast attacked me for no reason,” the church member hollered.
“That’s what happens when you try to put your hands on me.” I said as I stood him up and several uniformed officers arrived.
They took him and had his wounds treated. It was just before noon and the sun was baking down on them then they finally decided to call it a day then they dispersed with no further incidents.
I returned to the residence in time for lunch. The air conditioning felt good when I came inside as it had to be one of the hottest days I can ever remember in DC. I headed for my room and got out of my vest. I went across to Bennie’s room and he and Chris were watching something on Chris’s computer. “What’s up guys?”
Chris closed the cover quickly and both boys were red faced. “Hi baby, nothing. How was court this morning?”
“It went fine baby.” I said as I went over and sat beside my lover.
I noticed a bulge under the covers and I couldn’t resist so I slid my hand under and gave it a little squeeze. “Hey,” Bennie squealed.
“What have we here?” I asked. “Was that all because I came in?”
I leaned down and gave my lover a kiss then let my hand slide over to Chris. I heard his cough as I felt his hard package and that told me what I had interrupted. Bennie was still red when I gave him a wink. “No fair love, you interrupted us.”
“I thought you didn’t need stuff like that because you had me.”
“Well, I’m horny.” Bennie said as he looked over to Chris.
“So you thought you’d have a little fun and solve a problem, is that it?” I asked looking at Chris.
“No love, but there is always the shower.” Bennie said through a giggle.
I looked at the clock. “Come on guys, shake a leg before we’re late for lunch.”
They quickly got up and washed while I put on a clean shirt then went out to the dining room. The three of us walked in just in time. Gloria was coming out with the platters just as we took our seats. We ate our fill of Gloria’s Mexican burgers and fries. Just as I finished my last bite, my cell rang. “Mason.”
“Agent Mason, someone from Animal Control is here.”
“What do they want?”
“They want Tonka.”
“Not a chance in hell,” I almost yelled. “Tell them to stay there, I’ll be down in a minute.”
I went into my room and got all the papers on Tonka then headed down to the ground floor. Tonka joined me in the elevator then hopped into the Hummer. When I pulled up to the gate, I looked at my boy. “Stay boy.” I told him then got out.
“I want that dog,” the man yelled
“Yeah and people in hell want ice water too,” I replied as I went to the gate. “What can I do for you?”
“We have a report of a vicious dog.” I pushed the door opener on my remote and Tonka jumped out then trotted over to me and sat at my side.
“This dog?” I asked. “I’ll have you know this is a service dog.”
“Who can verify that?” He asked.
“Call Secret Service Headquarters and ask for Director Ed Miller.” I said.
“Ah, ah that’s quite alright. Do you have his papers?”
I reached into my pocket and took them out and handed them to him. Tonka started getting antsy so I let him find a tree. “It’s ok boy, you can go on.”
He took off then did his business then trotted back over. He sat by the fence and watched the people walk past but never uttered a sound. “That’s some dog you have there. Any other dog would be barking his head off.”
“He’s well trained. Tonka only bites when he has to in the line of duty and had that ass not tried to put his hand on me, he wouldn’t have been bit.”
“He claimed you told him to bite.”
I went over to the guard shack and called Capt. Langford and had him send the uniformed officer that was with me outside to the back gate. “The uniform officer will be over here, he’s a witness.”
A cruiser pulled up and the officer got out. I pointed to the Animal Control officer and I stepped back to the two of them could talk. I found some shade so I wasn’t sweating my ass off, then I saw the uniform return to his car and go about his business. “Thank you Agent Mason, I have all I need and I’d love to have a dog like yours.”
“He would be a great watch dog and family pet.”
I motioned for Tonka to heel and he did. “Paw.”
Tonka lifted his paw as if to shake with the officer but because of the fence, he couldn’t. “Put your hand against the fence.”
Tonka smelled it then gave it a lick. “I’ll be damned, no K9 I know would ever do that, most would try to eat it.”
“Not many dogs are raised on the Navajo reservation either. His first owner is an agent who happens to be full blooded.”
“That says it all. Thanks for everything, I have to get back to work.”
I reached down and scratched Tonka as we returned to the Hummer. I’m glad I left the a/c on because it sure felt good in there. We returned to the residence and I had a leisurely afternoon to myself.
I went down to Bennie’s room and changed into my trunks. I found the sun screen then headed for the roof. I spotted an agent looking over the side staring intently down at the boys in the pool. I made my way around to the far side then climbed on to the lookout area. I made my way quietly around and saw the man lying on his stomach looking down on Bennie and Chris as they frolicked in the pool. The one thing I could tell was they were both naked. I was really steamed. I slipped quietly to the other side of the roof and called Dusty.
I explained everything to him then asked him to join me and where to come up and a few minutes later, he was standing at my side. We walked around and there was the agent still lying there spying on the boys. I looked at Dusty to see who was going to get his attention and Dusty motioned to me. I kicked the agent’s foot and he waved his hand at me. “On your feet,” I said kicking him again.
He made the mistake of trying to jump into my face until he saw Dusty standing there. “Would you care to explain yourself?” Dusty asked.
“Ah, well I was guarding. . . ,” he started but was failing miserably.
“You were guarding whom?” I asked.
“The kid,” he spat.
I grabbed him by the jacket and shook him. “Don’t you ever refer to him like that again. You’ll address him as the President’s son or Mr. Jacobs, do I make myself clear?”
“Ye-Yes, Agent Mason.”
“Get your ass down to my office now,” Dusty hollered.
I thought the man was going to step off the ledge. Dusty escorted the man inside while I went down and talked with Bennie and Chris. I went over to the edge of the pool and dropped their towels on the deck, “Over here boys.” I said as I brought a chair over so I could sit and talk to them.
Bennie pushed himself up onto the edge of the pool in all his glory. “Did either of you let me know where’d you’d be?” I asked.
Bennie looked at me and smiled. “I didn’t think I had to.”
“Excuse me?” I said as I fought to control how I was feeling.
“Come on baby, I’ve never had to tell you” He started then I put my fingers on his lips.
“Yes you have love. I have to know where you are at all times. If it’s not me, it’s Dusty or JR or Johnny.”
He could tell I wasn’t happy. “What’s wrong baby?”
“There has to be some changes baby.” I said as Chris joined us.
“Why?” Bennie asked.
“Because, imagine my surprise when I caught one of the agents glaring down here watching you two.”
“What?” Bennie yelled looking up.
“That’s right baby. I want you two to go and get your trunks on.”
“Ace, why?” Bennie asked.
I wasn’t in the mood for a debate, “Because it has to be. Now, if you want, we can take this to your Dad.”
“I don’t understand Ace, what happened?” Chris asked.
“When I came up here I saw one of the snipers looking over the side down here at you two.”
Chris’s mouth was hanging open. “Oh shit.” Chris said.
“Now do you see why some changes have to be made?” I asked.
I understand Ace,” Chris said as he hopped out of the pool and put his towel around him.
“Ace, this is supposed to be my house.” Bennie said.
“It is son but it’s also a place of business and I have a job that requires me protecting you.”
“I know baby but I’m a big boy.” Bennie said.
“Did you realize you were being watched earlier?” I asked.
Bennie turned red. “No I didn’t and I don’t like that!”
“I don’t either and that’s why the skinny dipping has to stop.”
Chris looked over at Bennie. “Bennie, Ace is right. Who knows how long this was going on and no one ever knew it.”
Bennie’s head hung down. “I never realized.”
I wrapped my arm around my lover. “I know darling; that’s why we have to put a halt to this.”
Bennie grabbed his towel then reached for my hand. “Come on love, let’s go inside.”
Bennie, Chris and I went inside and headed for Bennie’s room. The boys took a shower to remove the chlorine. While they were doing this, my cell rang. “Mason.”
“Ace, can you come down to the office?”
“Sure, can you get Johnny to come up please?”
“I’ll call him now.” Dusty replied then I ended the call.
I knocked on the bathroom door. “Boys, I have to down to the West Wing, Johnny is on his way here.”
“Alright Ace,” Bennie said as I closed the door behind me.
I walked out and there was Johnny and Tonka having a good ole time. “I have to go to the office. Bennie and Chris are taking a shower.”
“Alright Ace, they’ll be fine.”
“I shouldn’t be too long,” I said then headed for the doors.
I left through the double doors and walked down the hall the led to the West Wing. A few minutes later, I entered Dusty’s and my office. “What’s up man?”
“We have a problem.” Dusty said.
“I know and I’ve already taken corrective measures to fix it.”
“I chewed that agent out and he said he saw the boys feeling each other up then referred to them as fags,” Dusty said then.
When I heard that, it totally pissed me off. “Look, I don’t want him anywhere near Bennie or Chris.”
“Do you have any ideas how we can prevent this?” Dusty asked.
“I do, I’m going to call Dylan Masters,” I said and made the call.
We talked for several minutes then I gave him the agent’s name and told him anyone using the word fag would be disciplined. “Well,” Dusty asked.
“Problem solved, tell that agent he’s been reassigned to the counter assault team and Dylan Masters is the agent in charge.”
“When do you leave on your cruise?” Dusty asked.
“We leave next Friday,” I answered, then remembered I had another call to make. I called over to Headquarters and managed to talk to a tech. “This is Agent Mason, I was wondering if you have a laptop that has been removed from service.”
“What would you need it for?”
“Well, the President’s son had his laptop trashed by his grandmother. The hard drive still works but I don’t know how much life is left on it before it decides it’s going to crash.”
“What was he running on it?” The tech asked.
“He had Windows 7 on it.”
“I have one here that we took out of service because the cooling fan went.” The tech replied.
“Any idea when it’ll get fixed? I asked.
“It’s been fixed and it’s ready to go. It has a 250 GB hard drive on it. It was made by Dell.”
“How much do you want for it?” I asked.
“Let me look.” He said then I heard him typing. “Well, that computer cost us $899.00. It has MS Office on it too. I can let you have it for less 10%. That comes to $810.00”
“Deal,” I said. “Write up the paperwork and give the laptop and bill to Director Miller and I’ll get it from him.”
“I’ll be glad to Agent Mason,” The tech said.
“Thank you very much on this.” I said then ended the call.
“Dusty, I have to run over to Headquarters and pick up something for Bennie. Johnny is up with Bennie and Chris, just so you know.”
“OK Ace, I’ll see you when you get back.”
I headed for my car then went over to Headquarters. When I arrived, I parked then headed up to the door. I swiped my card then saw the green light then entered the building. I stopped at the reception room? “Agent Mason to see Director Miller,” I said looking at the agent through the bulletproof glass.
“Down the hall then take the elevator to the second floor. You’ll see his office as soon as you step off.”
I nodded my head then headed down the hall. I found the elevator and noticed it had a card scanner on it so I swiped my ID card. The doors opened then I pushed the number two then we were off. As soon as the doors opened, my eyes almost bugged out of my head. ‘I could get used to digs like these.’
There were huge glass doors that reminded me of a high class lawyer’s office. When I walked in, I heard a beep. An agent suddenly appeared. “May I help you?”
“I’m Agent Mason, I’m here to see Director Miller.”
“Do you have an appointment?” He asked.
“No I don’t but…” I started then was interrupted.
“I’m sorry but he’s busy.” He said.
‘Is that so,” I thought as I pulled out my phone and pushed a button.
“Ed, it’s Ace. You need to tell your snooty staff not to interrupt someone when they’re talking.”
“Is that so?” I heard a voice say and there stood Ed.
I closed my phone then walked over to him. “Yes, your men need a course in manners.”
“Who?” He asked.
I looked over and the agent standing there looked like he wanted to disappear. “Did you interrupt Agent Mason?”
“Umm,” He started.
“I’ll take that as a ‘yes.’” Ed said interrupting. “Now, you apologize.”
He glared at Ed as if he’d been scolded like he was a child. “I thought I was doing my job, Sir.” He said meekly.
Your job is how it was described to you. I have a secretary who handles my appointments. Do we understand each other?”
“Yes Sir, I apologize Agent Mason. It won’t happen again.”
I nod my head but remained quiet then I look at Ed. “Is that computer ready Ed?” I ask.
“Come on back Ace, I have it in my office.”
I followed him back and I was totally blown away. “Man, these are some nice digs.”
“A little too flashy for my tastes. I didn’t set these offices up but I inherited the space.”
I pulled my check book out. “Who do I make this out to?”
“Make it out to DHS.” Ed answered.
I stroked the check then took the laptop and put it in Bennie’s computer bag. “Thanks Ed. Oh, don’t forget, I go on vacation next Friday.”
I watched him flip through his calendar. “I have it here, now you two have a good time and try and stay out of trouble.”
“Me? I always stay out of trouble. Trouble seems to find me.”
Ed looked up at me and just shook his head laughing. I excused myself then returned to the residence. When I returned, I found Bennie and Chris watching television. “Here you go baby.” I said handing him his backpack.
“What’s this?” He asked pulling on the straps.
“Look at it,” I replied then got ready.
“Oh my god,” Bennie hollered then jumped out of the bed and into my arms. “Do you have a transfer cord so I can transfer my stuff from my old computer to this one?”
I went to my room and dug it out of my desk and put his old hard drive back into the case and brought it back over. “Here you go baby.”
“Cool, I can transfer my stuff off the old hard drive onto the new one.” He said then started to hook the USB cable up. “Um love, how much did this cost?”
I looked at him then waved my finger. “Don’t worry about it.”
“You’re such a hardheaded man.” He spits out trying to act angry at me but I see through it as I go over and kiss him.
“I know it but you love me anyway.”
“You’re lucky too,” Bennie said then started transferring his files.
As soon as they all transferred to his new computer, I heard him cuss. “What’s wrong baby?”
“I think the old hard drive just died.”
I went over and tried to open the external hard drive and nothing happened. “I’m glad I decided to get you a whole new computer.”
Bennie hugged me tightly. “You’re a life saver baby.”
“What flavor Life Saver, lover? It sure wouldn’t
be cherry!” Chris and Benny looked at each other, then broke out laughing.
“What would you do without me?”
“I don’t know love but I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now.”
“I agree baby,” I said as I looked at the clock. “Dinner is about to be served, we better get in gear.”
We went into the bathroom and washed up then went out to dinner.
To be continued...
