LUKE…..

Luke here, using Edward's computer, to give you some information about myself and the tribe that my father is the chief of. In The Indian First Nation,  we are called Potawatomi and here is a brief translation of what it means; also we are know as The Keepers of the Sacred Fire. The Potawatomi name is a translation of the Ojibwe "potawatomink" meaning "people of the place of fire." Similar renderings of this are: Fire Nation, Keepers of the Sacred Fire, and People of the Fireplace - all of which refer to the role of the Potawatomi as the keeper of the council fire in an earlier alliance with the Ojibwe and Ottawa tribes.

OK, so my father was a big shot and literally ruled over (4) four tribes, I can not understand why he got upset at school when I told him that I was gay.  Dad always told me he loved me and yet he went after both John-TwoFeathers and the Little Crow Dorm parent, Matt Sitting Eagle, like a mad man.  I am not sure if it's because my roommate and boyfriend was a Sioux Indian or because, as his only son, he could not understand why I was gay.

GERRY'S JOURNAL…..

"A little history prior to me coming to Crazy Horse.  My mother thought that it be best that I learn how to cook just in case my future wife could not or would not make certain meals I loved, so Mom got me interested in cooking early. Now looking back on my life I can only thank her for it, as that is what made me into the Home Economics teacher I became.

"Anyway after the big yelling match with Mr. Sitting Eagle and Two-Feathers, I found out that Luke's brother had been given custody of me along with only having to pay for my meals and books as the school felt sorry for me and wrote off the money it costs to attend since Edward was paying for Luke, and Dad disowned me on school property.  At least that is what Mr. Sitting Eagle told me, but I have a sneaky feeling Edward is paying for me as well. "Edward took me into his and Luke's family without any questions asked as to why my dad did what he did to me at Crazy Horse.   You have to be a fool not to love having such a caring roommate as Luke and caring blood-brother as Edward.   Yeah we cut our fingers and mixed blood (my idea --- dumb wasn't it).

"LUKE, AGAIN…..

I just pray that nobody ever sees those pictures of me in full Indian dress as I felt like a fool having to wear those during a Pow Wow and also at a First Nation Meeting held at Crazy Horse during my early high school years.
 

There is a storm brewing, so let me cut this short now as I do not want to ruin Edward's computer.

"From the two of us, myself and Luke, we will be looking over Edward as he goes into the hospital the early part of October for another surgery, so please remember him also, and Luke promises to return with the rest of his story."
