Chapter 20

I laid back and watched as Juan eagerly removed any lingering doubts that Julian may have had about the boy loving him – the two were deeply and passionately attached at the lips and needed separating quickly before oxygen was exhausted! Fortunately I was equal to the task – I cleared my throat before speaking: "Julian, perhaps you might like to just make Juan aware of the condition under which I'll let you two sleep together?" This succeeded brilliantly in stopping Juan's unrelenting exploration of Julian's mouth [not, I can assure you, that Julian was in any way complaining!]

Julian struggled to extricate himself from Juan's passionate assault upon his person – I'm sure that he had no doubts about Juan's feelings for him any more! And when he'd finally managed to push Juan off him and back beside him, holding him firmly down to keep him there, he finally managed to say; "Listen lover, Dave promised me last night that we could share a bedroom from tomorrow night" – I was about to remonstrate that I'd said no such thing when I remembered that the new beds were supposed to be delivered tomorrow night [and I was certain that Julian would make damned sure they were, LOL!] – "but there was a condition to that!"

Juan had stopped trying to escape his lover's grip to resume his passionate show of affection, and instead laid there alongside Julian; now he looked at him with a frown as he said "What condition's that?" Julian grinned affectionately at him as he replied "We both have to promise him that that we won't have sex before its legally permissible when you become an adult on your eighteenth birthday!"

I had thought that this might lead to another tantrum from Juan, but the fact that he was cuddled up to his naked boyfriend seemed to have mellowed him a bit as he frowned for a moment before he brightened up, and grinning, said "But we can kiss and cuddle, can't we?" Julian smiled as he replied "You bet we can, that doesn't count as sex!"

"OK, kids, as it seems that the pair of you have designs on each other, I give in. But I do want to hear you both promise that you will abstain from sex until Juan's legally an adult." Julian hugged Juan closer to him [I didn't think it was possible!] and promised that he wouldn't and then he tickled Juan's stomach as he seemed reluctant to comply; Juan squirmed, giggling, away from him as far as Julian's grip on him would allow, and said between giggles "OK, OK, I'll do it!" Julian drew him back against him and leant forward and kissed his forehead and Juan grinned before turning towards me and making the required promise. I smiled at the pair of them and held my arms out as I said "So, don't I even get a hug from you then?" Juan laughed and Julian grinned, but both boys scrambled side by side into a kneeling position and I embraced them both in a hug – it was a good feeling, holding onto a pair of happy and carefree teens. I gave them both a kiss before letting them go and crawling off the bed.

"Well, don't get up to too much mischief; remember you're supposed to be getting up" I grinned at a naked and unashamedly aroused Julian, "all of you, that is, Julian, not just that bit!" Julian realised what I meant and flopped back on the bed, blushing furiously and pulling Juan down on top of him to cover his embarrassment. I stood up and retreated to the door, saying "I'll get dressed and fix breakfast; if you're not dressed and out in the lounge by the time its ready you don't get fed today!"

I turned and left, hearing both boys groan at my threat as I did so. I popped into the bathroom and showered and shaved, before going back to the lounge and dressing. I put the kettle on for some coffee and came back and restored the bed/settee to its daytime function as a settee, and seeing Julian's clothes still neatly folded on the chair I did think briefly about being cruel and helpfully putting them in the wash for him! My better side won out and I picked them up and took them down to the bedroom and knocking firmly on the door said "Your clothes are outside the door, Julian; remember both of you, time's passing if you want to eat!" I heard a chorused groan from the two lovebirds [who I would bet hadn't separated from when I originally left the room!]

I returned to the kitchen and proceeded to indulge myself in something I rarely found the inclination to do: prepare a fried breakfast! I put some pork sausages on the grill and used three of my cooker's rings to do a saucepan of Heinz beans and two frying pans: one with bacon and the other for fried eggs.

I'd managed to do a half dozen eggs whilst the bacon was frying and I did myself a couple of slices of fried bread [something else I loved] in the egg pan whilst finishing off the bacon. By the time my bread had done I had three plates with eggs, bacon and sausages and a saucepan of beans simmering on a reduced heat at the back.

Fortunately my pair of teenagers came through just in time to take the tablecloth and cutlery and condiments into the lounge and return to help me with the food, bread and butter and coffee! I grabbed a Diet Coke from the fridge and reopened the door after a thought crossed my mind and retrieved two cartons of orange juice for the boys, before going through to join them.

Julian and Juan had taken the side against the wall, so I sat the other side facing them. "Help yourselves," I said and both boys waited patiently and politely until I'd helped myself from the plates before doing so themselves – well, to be precise, Julian did the helping! We sat and quietly ate our breakfast and it was a pleasure to watch my boys (as I'd started thinking of them at moments like this) content and enjoying themselves: neither looked as if they had any cares at the moment and both were very attentive to each other – if you've ever seen a newly-married couple in a world of their own, oblivious to the world around them you'll know what I mean!

Between us we managed to eat everything – the boys didn't need much encouragement to finish it all! And once we'd done I told them to leave the table for now and pointed them to the settee. I went and got us all another drink and having given the boys theirs, sat down on the floor in front of them so I could see them both. Julian did remonstrate me with me about my sitting on the floor but I told him that it was my home and I could sit on the floor if I wanted to!

"So, Julian, have you been too busy molesting Juan," he grinned as I said it, "to ask him yet?" Juan looked at Julian with a frown on his face and Julian had obviously forgotten our early morning chat. ""Remember you asked me if I and Juan would do something." I prompted him gently, leaving him to make the decision. Comprehension dawned in Julian's face, but Juan was clearly becoming unsettled by his ignorance of what was going on; he prodded Julian in the ribs to get his attention; "What am I supposed to do?" he asked.

Julian hugged him and smiled as he said, "Dave and I had a talk last night and this morning about what I wanted to do. Last night I wasn't sure about a lot of things, but after he and I talked again this morning, and we got to talk as well" here he grinned at Juan and hugged him to him again, pulling him into lean against him, "I've made up my mind and its all a lot clearer now."

Juan was content to lean against Julian and wait for him to finally get it out, and Julian continued: "I fell in love with you when Dave brought you to work, but I didn't know whether you might love me and when Dave told me to back off, I didn't know what to do for the best. Dave and I talked it over last night, and the first thing I need to face up to is being gay: nobody but you two knows I am."

Juan broke in here: "So, what's the problem?" Julian grinned sheepishly as he gently squeezed Juan a little and said, "If anybody should know the answer to that, you should!" Juan looked puzzled, and Julian continued, "Dave reminded me that if I really did love you and wanted to be with you that I'd have to at least tell my Mum that I was gay, and you know all about where that can lead don't you?"

Juan was silent, but you could see by his face that he was reliving the experience with his Dad. Julian could see it as well as I, and he put his other arm around him and cradled him, rocking him gently in his arms. Juan's mood soon lightened and he twisted in Julian's arms, looking up at him, "So, what is it you want me to do?" he asked. Julian had obviously used the interlude to prepare himself for the final step, and he took it now: "I asked Dave if he and you would come with me when I tell my Mum," he managed to get out.

Juan didn't take long to take this in, "What about your Dad?" he asked. "Dad doesn't really matter. Mum and he are separated; he hasn't lived with us since I was eleven." Julian answered. Juan digested this and then asked, "So how will your Mum take it; does it worry you?" Julian grinned "That's the problem, I don't know; and I didn't know until this morning whether you felt about me the same way I feel about you; or whether I'd have anywhere to live if Mum threw me out."

Juan grinned at Julian as he nuzzled up to him and kissed him, then wriggled himself against his lover. "So, you know I love you now?" Juan said with a wonderful broad smile stretching across his face. Julian leant forward and kissed his forehead, and leant back smiling almost as broadly himself, "Yeah, I do now; and Dave said this morning that he would let me stay here even if you and I didn't work out, so I won't be homeless if Mum takes it badly."

As the basic points seemed to be covered, I asked Julian "Well, now we all know what happens next; when do you want to go see your Mum?" Julian smiled and said, "If its all right with you and Juan, I'd like to go and get it over before I have a chance to get all steamed up again about what may happen." I nodded and said "OK, let's clear the table and set the dishwasher off and if Juan's OK with it I'll take you home." Juan smiled and the pair of them got up.

It didn't take long to quickly rinse the plates off and stick everything in the washer and then the 2Js grabbed their coats and we headed out. It was a lovely winter's day, with just a hint of the sun peeking through the clouds as we headed off to the car. The trip to Bury didn't take long; it was after all a Sunday and nearly mid-day: no work traffic and lots of folks in church!

I pulled up outside Julian's house and joined the boys on the pavement [that's the sidewalk to our American friends, NOT the road, LOL!] Julian led the way to his house and Juan and I followed. Inside, Julian showed us through to the lounge and disappeared, returning with three glasses and a bottle of Coke. "Sorry Dave; we don't drink Diet here," he said as he offered me a glass. I accepted the drink and we all sat down; Julian and Juan together on the settee and me on one of the armchairs beside them. "Mum won't be long, she's usually back from church about 12:30." Julian said.

He wasn't far out as it was just about 12:24 by the clock on the mantelpiece, when I spotted a well-dressed woman eyeing my car suspiciously from the start of the path that led to Julian's front door [you shouldn't be surprised by now that I could see it!] She turned away, fumbling in a handbag and I saw her withdraw a set of keys before she disappeared from view. Moments later a key turned in the lock and the front door opened.

The well-dressed woman entered the lounge still clutching the handbag and the keys. We all stood up as she entered and she glanced at the three of us briefly (I could almost imagine her thought processes: first Juan still showing fading bruises, then her son and finally an older man; what the hell's going on here?)

Julian stepped forward "Mum, I'd like to introduce you to two of my friends, Juan and Dave. I hope you don't mind them being here but I need to talk to you." His mum seemed a little taken aback; she finally managed to get her keys in the handbag. "Well we can always talk, Julian, that doesn't explain why you need your friends here though; you'd better come through to the kitchen if you really need to talk to me now."

She turned and walked back out the door and Julian moved to follow her. There was silence in the lounge where Juan and I still stood uncomfortably; that is until it was broken by the unmistakable sounds of a slap and a screamed "No I won't!" The swing door at the end of the lounge burst open and a visibly distressed Julian crashed through it and ran sobbing to the front door. I quickly took off after him and caught him before he'd managed to get too far down the drive and just grabbed him to stop his flight and then hugged him, holding him close and comforting him.
