He came over to me next and I kissed him on the cheek. “That’s right son. We’re a family now and we’re all in this together. Tomorrow, would you boys like to come here with Hans and me to help us pick out head stones for your Dad’s graves?”

Jamie looked up at me. “Really, can we help pick them out?”

I put him on his feet. “Yes, you really can really help. Now, are you guys getting hungry?”

Their heads started bobbing up and down like bobble head dolls. We headed back to the Hummer and found a little restaurant to get some lunch.

Chapter 15

When we got home, we just sat on the couch and held the boys, as they didn’t really want to do anything else. By 6, I was stiff, sore and aching from being in 1 position for several hours. Kevin was napping on my lap with his thumb in his mouth with his index finger around his nose. I gently slid him off me and leaned him against Hans and Jamie then headed upstairs. As I entered my room, I was trying to decide if I wanted a hot shower or to relax in the Jacuzzi. I bent over to take my shoes off and when I stood, I was very sore so my question was then answered.

I turned the hot water on then closed the drain. After it got hot, I added the cold bringing it to a very warm but comfortable and tolerable temperature. It took almost 10 minutes to fill the tub up so I stripped and waited for the water to rise up over the seats. I climbed in then gently sat down as to not burn Hans’ playground. I sat back and enjoyed the feeling of the warm water rising around me. I leaned my head back and closed my eyes as I started to relax. I felt the water around my midriff so I sat up and checked the water level. I was about to reach for the taps when I got the feeling I wasn’t alone. I turned and saw Kevin standing there. “Hey kiddo, how you feeling?”

I turned the water off and sat back about to turn the jets on. “I’m Ok Pop. Um, do you think I could join you?”

Hell, I’d showered with him this morning so I figured why not. “Sure son, get undressed and come on in. Be careful now, it is a little warm.”

I’d no sooner finished talking to him when he was standing in the warm water. I turned the jets on and got the water swirling then watched as he carefully eased down into the water. “This is warm Pop but it feels good.”

He touched his butt to the water then eased down a little further then rose back up. “You might wanna put your hand over it son.”

His butt was a little red from the hot water and now his face was matching it. He covered his jewels then sank down. “Ahh, this does feel good.”

He was sitting there and had a forlorn look on his face. I held my arms out and he was soon cuddled against my chest. “What’s wrong kiddo?”

He shook his head. “Nothing really Pop. Just remembering some of the things Dad and I and the 4 of us did together. We’d gone to a club once as guests of some friends and they had a hot tub and I remember…”

“I remember us all in the tub sitting on our Dad’s laps” a voice said finishing the sentence.

We looked up and there was Hans and Jamie. “You’re welcome to join us.”

Jamie turned around and looked at Hans who just nodded his head. “If you want to get in son, go ahead.”

Kevin jumped off my lap and grabbed his lover’s hand. “Come on love, join us.”

Jamie slowly got undressed because once he removed his shorts, there was a prominent bulge in his undies. Hans had already shed his clothes and was in the water. “It’s ok son, we all get then.”

Jamie looked up at Kevin who had a lecherous smile on his face. He quickly leaned over and pulled them down causing Jamie’s stiffy to slap against his stomach. Jamie looked up and just smiled.

After Hans and Jamie got in, the water was beginning to cool down. I was about to add more water when I noticed there was a switch and beside it was a thermostat. I set the temperature for 103 degrees then flipped the switch and soon the water was getting warm again.

We cuddled with our boys for a while then Jamie reached his hand out for Kevin. I saw him look back at me and I just smiled. Jamie scooted off Hans’ lap and Kevin made a bee line for his boyfriend. Hans and I watched them to cuddle together so I took the opportunity I got to snuggle with mine.

No sooner had Hans sat on my lap than I started getting more than a little turned on. He could feel my dick getting hard then he turned his head and gave me a short but passionate kiss. We looked over at the boys and they were doing their own necking. They were in a passionate lip lock and I couldn’t see their hands but suddenly both were in the throws of powerful orgasm. Hans turned to me and whispered, “Now that was one powerful kiss babes.”

I nodded then kissed his ear. “Now you can kiss me like that anytime.”

We watched as the boys returned to Earth and both got red and hung their heads. “Uh, we’re…”

“No need to say anything son,” Has said interrupting. “You love each other and it shows. There is nothing to be ashamed of.”

Just then we had the boys in our arms. Jamie kissed us first. “Thanks, you two are the coolest.”

We’d been in the tub for about 45 minutes and I was starting to feel a little like a prune. I pushed the button, flipped the heater off then stood up. Kevin eyes got big and then started giggling. “Pop’s gotta boner.”

I ruffled his hair then smiled at him. “It’s not my fault, blame Hans.”

Jamie looked at Hans and winked. “It’s OK Pop, you got one too.”

At that, I leaned over and went searching for Hans’ tonsils. I ran my hands down his butt and he thrust his crotch against mine. With us not having the energy over the last couple of days, I had a very short fuse and when he ground his crotch into mine, the fuse blew. I had to hold on because I felt my knees getting weak and my load blasted against our chests. Hans’ fuse wasn’t much longer as soon, he was joining me. We were holding onto each other trying to stay standing when I felt a hand pushing on my butt. “Easy Pop, don’t fall.”

Hans and I managed to get our legs back and I could feel my face getting warm. Hans kissed me smiling. “Remember what I told the boys love.”

Jamie went over to the sink and handed us a wet washcloth. I smiled at him as I cleaned my chest, abs and dick. “Thanks son.”

The next day, as we were getting ready to leave for the cemetery to buy the headstones, Jamie came up holding a photo. “Do you think they could put this photo in the headstone?”

Jamie was holding the photo of him and his Dad that was from his room. “I’m sure they can son but do you want to lose this photo?”

He thought for a minute. “No, I guess not but that would look so good.”

Kevin then came running down holding the photo of him and his Dad. Just then, Hans’ got an idea. “I’ll take them and scan them into my computer. I have some photo paper and I can make a perfect copy of them.”

The boys hugged Hans before he set off to copy the photos. After a little touch up, they were printed and we were on our way to the cemetery. When we went into the cemetery office, we were led next door to their monument office. Hans and I told the boys to look around and find the one they wanted. We watched as they looked at several that held photos and they decided on the ones they liked.

The boys came back over to me.  Jamie started looking around, “Where’s Pop?”

I looked around and spotted Hans over toward the edge of the display markers.  We headed over toward him when he spied us coming.  “Boys, take a look at this one.”

He was looking at a marker that was made of pink marble but instead of having only one head stone, it contained two.  The two stones sat on a common base and there was a vase holder between the two stones.  Each stone was gracefully curved up toward the other stone.  At the top part of each stone was a round cut out that would hold the photos.

“Oh wow, that is so cool.” Gasped Jamie.

“It is, love,” replied Kevin.  “I think our Dads would really like it.  It’s like joining them together forever with one marker instead of two.”

The base was cut at an angle so the last names could be engraved there and since neither of the men had long last names, they would both fit.

The manager filled out an order for the monument making sure that he had the proper picture with the proper name. “How long will it take for these to be done?”

“For this particular monument, it takes about two weeks,” the manager said. “I’ll call you when we’ve received it then you can come out and inspect it before it’s placed by the graves. We’ll need a 50% deposit on it. The balance is due upon your inspection and approval. Please look the order from over again so there are no mistakes, please.”

Hans and I looked the forms over then I got an idea. I took the form and wrote a special message. Hans looked at what I wrote, smiled then wrote a similar message. “Here you go.”

The manager looked the form over. “That looks great. I’ll notify you when it has arrived.”

A thought suddenly struck me.  What will happen to the pictures over time?  I mean with rain and sun won’t the pictures fade?”

“Good question,” replied the man.  “The photos are encased in Lexan and then screwed into place in the stone.  The Lexan also has a UV filter so the photos won’t ever be exposed to the elements and won’t fade.  If anything ever does happen to the photos because of workmanship, we will replace them free of charge.”

Well, that answered that question. I wrote the man a check then we headed back home. On the way, the boys wanted to know when they’d be ready. “The man said it’d be ready in about 2 weeks. He’ll call us then we’ll go and look at it before it is put out on the graves.”

When we got home, the boys surprised us. Kevin came up with his puppy dog eyes. “Pop, can we get the rest of our things from our old house?”

I looked at Hans and he shrugged his shoulders. “OK guys, we can do that. Now, there is something we need to talk about.”

Hans knew what it was but the boys had a look of panic on their face. “Relax guys, it’s about school. Lee talked with the Headmaster and he said you would most likely be back after the funeral. Do you think you’re ready to start back?”

The boys relaxed and then came the moans and groans. “Aww, do we have to?”

I looked at Hans and giggled. “Well babe, they’re boys. As for if you have to, the answer is we would need a very good reason to pull you out with this much time left in the school year. Also, Social Services would wonder why too.”

The boys’ moans stopped as soon as they heard Social Services. Jamie’s eyes started to water. “Pop, they won’t take us away from you will they?”

Now that really broke my heart as I saw Kevin starting to tear up too. “No boys, they won’t but they would want to know why you aren’t in school. Did either of you have any problems there?”

They looked at each other then shook their heads. Kevin looked at Jamie then. “We liked going there. It’s better than the public school we were in before and there are all boys there.”

Jamie just grinned at that statement and I fully understood why. “Just don’t stare too long guys.”

Jamie got serious then. “It’s cool guys. We get boners all the time and no one says a thing about it. Last year a kid said something and the PE teacher had him run 4 laps then we all got a talk about it. He said it’s natural and it happens so he didn’t want to hear any more jokes or comments.”

Hans looked at his boy. “So you think you two are willing to give it a try?”

“Yeah Pop,” Jamie said holding Kevin's hand. “We do have a lot of friends there.”

Kevin then surprised me. “Pop, I wish you and Hans had met our Dads, you’d of liked them.”

With all that had happened, I’d forget to mention this to them. I knelt down and wrapped my arm around him. “Actually boys, I had.”

The looked surprised. “You did, when,” Jamie gasped.

We led the boys into the living room and sat on the couch. “Well, it was the day before everything happened. I was out at Sedgeway Park where those two boys had been raped. I saw two men walking down one of the paths and they were talking. I kinda over heard a little but acted like I hadn’t. We got to talking and it was the next day, Hans and I were to come over. They wanted us to talk with you guys because they thought you’d been well… having sex.”

The boys hung their heads and Kevin looked at me. “Yeah we were Pop but we were scared our Dads would be mad cause we’re young. We had a place hidden at the park.”

Jamie looked up at Hans. “Dad had mentioned about wanting a grandchild and it was hard to have to tell him Kevin and I are in love.”

Hans drew him close to his chest as I rubbed his back. He felt my hand then looked at me. “Son, I’ll let you know now that that did not bother them at all. After they heard about the rape there, they wanted you at home if you and Kevin wanted to have sex.”

Jamie was crying now. “Do you think he’s still proud of me? I mean, he knows we snuck around.”

Hans lifted his head. “Let me ask you this son; was it just to have sex or did you and Kevin love each other?”

“Pop!” Jamie said as his eyes liked to have bugged out of his head. “We love each other, you know that.”

Hans had a fatherly smile come on his face. “Then you just answered your own question.”

Jamie was now smiling and wrapped his arms around Hans’ neck. “You are so much like my Dad, Pop. He would do that to me too, just to make me think.”

I was so impressed with Hans. I’d seen what he’d gone through with his parents yet he has the compassion and wisdom to help Jamie resolve an internal conflict.

We got into the Hummer and made a trip back over to their old house. I backed up to the gate as the boys ducked down so they didn’t have to see the front yard. Once inside, the boys looked around and picked some photos off the walls that had special meaning. Their Dads had a DVD player the boys wanted for their room so we unhooked that for them. Hans and the boys got the rest of their clothes. I put the DVD player into the Hummer then went upstairs with the others. I saw the boys taking some grey slacks and blue shirts out their closet. “School clothes boys?”

Kevin looked at me and tried to frown but then broke into a smile. “Yeah Pop, except we gotta wear ties.”

I giggled at that then Hans wrapped his arms around him holding one of his school ties up. “You boys will look so handsome.”

The boys got in a little playful mood and wrapped their arms around each other’s shoulders then put on a big cheesy grin. Oh how I wish I had had a camera with me because that shot would have been priceless. We got their school clothes packed along with the other things they wanted, loaded into the Hummer then returned home.

Monday morning came too fast for the boys when Hans went in to wake them at 7. “Come on boys, rise and shine. Breakfast in 15 minutes.”

After some moaning, the boys got up and did their morning routines. I took the boys to school so I could get their absence excused and they could be put back on the bus schedule. I pulled up in front of the school and started walking towards the school. Just as the boys got out, others were running up to them. All the boys were welcoming them back then I had to get them inside. “Come on boys. You’ll have all day to talk with your friends.”

After a meeting with the Headmaster, the boys headed off to their class and I returned home. Just before 10, I got a call from Mr. Goodson. “Mr. Jennings, I have received the checks from the insurance company. I am going to open a trust account for each of the boys with these funds. I’ve not received payment from the bank yet but that should be in sometime this week. Send the receipts for the boys’ Dads funeral expenses and I’ll see to it you are reimbursed.”

“We just purchased the head stone on Saturday and had to put a 50% deposit down. It should be done in about 2 weeks.”

“That’s not a problem,” Mr. Goodson said. “Send the receipt in with the others then when you pay the balance, send me that one. Have the boys decided on what they want to do with the house yet?”

I hadn’t brought that up again. “No, not yet but I think renting out would be the best idea. Do you know what houses in that area rent for?”

“I’ve done some research on that in case that was what you all decided. Rents run from $900 to $1,200 a month. I think if you set it at $1,000 you wouldn’t have any problem renting it. There is a management company that could handle the property so you wouldn’t have to worry about things. I’ve dealt with them before and they are very reputable.”

That was something good to know. With Hans and the boys in school and me working, it would mean no headaches. “I like that idea. I’ll talk with the boys and get back to you. There are furnishings that we’re going to have to deal with and I need to know what they want to do with them.”

I hung up then got myself a cup of coffee. There were a lot of things still in the house and a room that would be hard on the boys to have to go through. I didn’t have a clue of what their Dads had but I was sure there would be some things they would want to have as keepsakes.

I finished my coffee then remembered I still had to pick my rifle up from the police. I also had to call John and let him know I was out of the hospital. I decided to go and get my rifle then stop in and see John. I went to the bathroom to take a leak and was about to leave when the phone rang. “Hello.”

“Mr. Lee Jennings please,” the voice asked.

“Speaking.”

The voice then continued. “Mr. Jennings, this is Capt. Warren Michaels. I’m the head of personnel with the San Antonio Police Department.”

“Yes Sir,” I replied remembering the application I’d put in. “What can I do for you?”

“I’ve reviewed your application. In the forms you filled out, one was giving us permission to request information from your previous employer. We got your Army records and we are very impressed with you. We would like for you to come in for a formal interview.”

Now this would make things at home a lot easier. “Yes sir, what time would you like to see me and is there anything you need me to bring?”

“Can you be here in about an hour?” he asked.

My suit was a mess from the funeral and I hadn’t got it to the cleaners yet. “Yes sir, I can do that. I’ll see you then.”

I hung up the phone then ran up the stairs to our bedroom. I looked in my closet and found another suit I didn’t wear that often and stripped to try on the pants. They still fit so I was set. I took them off then jumped into the shower. I quickly washed my body then rinsed off. I shut the water off and grabbed a towel quickly drying myself. My next task was to remove the weekend whiskers. Once all that was done, I got dressed then grabbed my copy of my army personnel file in case there was something they wanted to see they didn’t have. I scribbled a note for Hans then I was out the door.

I drove over to the Administration Building then parked in the guest lot. It was a short walk to the front door and I saw the different police cars coming and going. I walked in and saw the information desk and got directions to Capt. Michael’s office. I took the elevator to the 3rd floor then found his office. The first person I saw is was secretary. “Lee Jennings to see Capt. Michaels, please.”

She reached into her desk and pulled out a small packet of papers. She tore a few off the top then handed them to me. I sat down and looked them over and realized it was a test. I looked it over and I had to call on my Criminal Justice Degree. It took about 30 minutes to take it then I handed it to the woman. She got up and went into the inner office then came back out. “Capt. Michaels will see you in a couple of minutes.”

I sat back and waited unknowing what the test was all about. A few minutes later a uniformed officer came out. “Mr. Jennings, I’m Capt. Michaels. Sorry to keep you waiting. Would you please come in?”

I stood shaking his hand then followed him into his office. When we walked in I got the shock of my life. I saw more brass there than in the Army band. The NCO in me made me stop and stand at attention until I felt Capt. Michael gently push me towards a seat. Another uniformed officer with Colonel’s insignias stood then shook my hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Mr. Jennings.”

I shook his hand and nodded my head. “Thank you sir.”

Capt. Michaels then took the lead. “Mr. Jennings, we’ve reviewed your application and your military record and we are impressed. The San Antonio Police Department is always on the look out for highly qualified people and we’d like to offer you a position with our department.”

I couldn’t believe this much brass was needed to offer some ex-soldier a job. “Thank you Captain, I would like to work with your department. I’ve met a few of the fine men here and they are all very professional.”

The Colonel then took over. “Mr. Jennings, we don’t just want you to be a regular street patrol officer. With your experience added to the fact that you have a Master’s Degree in criminal Justice, we’re willing to offer you a position as a Detective Lieutenant.”

I had to cough because I swallowed hard and wrong. I finally got myself together and looked at the men. “I don’t know what to say.”

Just then another uniformed man came in and he had 2 stars on his collar. We all stood and Capt. Michael made the introduction. “Mr. Jennings, this is Deputy Chief Kellogg.”

The man walked over and held out his hand. I shook it and he reminded me a lot of my former First Sergeant. He was honest and straight forward. “Nice to meet you Deputy Chief.”

“Nice to meet you too. I read the report from the shooting team and you did a fine job. I hope you’ll take our offer and join our department. You’ll make a fine addition to our department.”

I was flattered and this was the place where I wanted to work. I didn’t want to have to move if I got on with DPS even though it would have been a little better career. “I’d be honored and I accept your offer.”

The Colonel then took the floor. “You have a position here Mr. Jennings. That test we gave you we give to officers before they graduate. I feel like a rookie now because you did better than I did. You’ll have 6 weeks of training at our Academy where you’ll learn local and state law. You’ll have to qualify with your weapon which will be the Glock or Beretta 9 mm. I’ve seen your shooting scores so I’m confident you’ll pass with no problem. You’ll also have to pass the PT test.”

“When will the classes start?”

The Deputy Chief took over. “The next class is in 2 weeks. You’ll be on our payroll effective tomorrow. Commander, can you arrange for Mr. Jennings to go over to the range and qualify? I don’t want a Detective unarmed.”

The Colonel got up and went to the phone. “I’ll take care of that now.”

“Will you stand please?” The Deputy Chief asked.

I stood and waited for the Commander to get off the phone. “When you’re finished here, I’ll escort you to the range.”

“Please raise your right hand and repeat after me,” he said.

I was sworn in as a Detective Lieutenant with the San Antonio Police Department and handed my gold shield. I next filled out tax forms so they could be sent to payroll. “Do you have direct deposit?”

“Yes we do,” Capt. Michaels replied. “Go to payroll and they can help you with that. Here is a form to take to our uniform supplier. We all have uniforms, even the detectives. You’ll get 2 full uniforms on the department. You’ll also get a clothing allowance because we know how hard you can be on suits.”

From there I was taken to get my ID card made then taken to the department property room where I was issued my department weapon. My next stop was to the pistol range where I met the range safety officer. “We have two pistols here. Most carry the Glock 9mm but some prefer to carry the Beretta 9mm, what is your preference?

I loved the Beretta and I was more familiar with it than the Glock but it was a fine weapon. “I like the Beretta personally.”

He took one out of the cabinet then we headed to the range. The range safety officer stood behind me while I loaded 5 rounds to sight the weapon in. I fired two rounds then pulled the target in. I made a little sight adjustment, sent the target back down then fired the remaining 3 rounds.

The officer pulled the target in and the last 3 were in the 10 ring. I made 1 more adjustment then told him I was ready to qualify. Out of a possible 250 I scored 235. I needed to work on my freehand shooting as that was my weakest but I still managed to qualify as expert. My shooting skills were still solid.

The range safety officer took the weapon, stripped it down then cleaned it. He started to put it back together when I stopped him. “Allow me to do that.”

I put the weapon back together then took the magazine apart and gave that a good cleaning. The Commander smiled. “That’s the MP in him but it’s a good habit to have.”

The range officer took me back inside and had me sign for the weapon, 3 magazines and 45 rounds of ammunition. I looked at several holsters they had and settled for one that went on my belt. I never liked one that went inside my pants as they were very uncomfortable. “Congratulations Lieutenant and welcome to the department.”

The Commander and I went back to the first floor and I saw Bryce and Oliver. They saw me and as we approached Bryce said, “Lee, what are you doing here?”

The Commander almost spoke but I beat him to it. “Hi guys, I’ve just been hired. Commander, I know these two fine officers and they’re personal friends.”

The Commander nodded his head. “Lt. Jennings, we don’t tell our officers who they can and can not see socially. However, when friends are on duty, we expect total professionalism.”

I nodded my head then looked back to Bryce and Oliver. “I’ve been hired as a Detective and I’m a Lieutenant.”

Both men smiled as Oliver extended his hand. “Congratulations Lee, I mean sir. You’ll make one hell of a detective. Where will you be assigned?”

Now that was a good question. I looked at the Commander. “I’m not sure yet. There are two divisions you could be assigned to. One is Robbery/Homicide and the other is Juvenile.”

After shooting Syd, I really didn’t want to be assigned to Robbery/Homicide. I thought that that would bring back memories I’d rather just not have to deal with. Working with kids had its promises and that was what I was hoping for. “Well, I’ll be ready for any assignment I get.”

“Lt. Jennings, you’ll be receiving a letter in a few days with the academy schedule. After the 6 week class, we’ll take your ID and badge then at a graduation ceremony, it will be officially presented to you. Your friends and family are welcome to attend.”

It was getting late and I was sure Hans would be wondering where I was and what was going on. “Thanks for everything. Bryce, Oliver, call me or come over. You’re always welcome and the boys would love to see you both.”

I shook everyone’s hand then left to head home. On my way to the Hummer, my cell phone rang. I just knew who it was and I was right. “Hi baby, I’m on my way home now. I’ll be home in about 30 minutes. I love you too. Bye lover.”

To be continued...
