Matt and Dar looked at each other then smiled. Matt stood up and hugged Jay and Ronnie. “Come on Dar, let’s get that shower now. I think Jay and Ronnie want to get theirs too.”

Dar stood as did Jay and Ronnie. The 3 quickly hugged then the youngsters turned to leave. “Have fun boys,” Ronnie said winking at them.”

The boys disappeared down the hall and into their bedroom. Matt closed the door then looked at his friend. “Are you ready?”

Chapter 58

Dar smiled then kicked off his shoes. Matt kicked his off then went over to the bed. On his way, he pulled his shirt off the sat down watching while Dar undressed. Dar pulled his tee shirt over his head then sat beside Matt. He gently reached out and rubbed Matt’s skin. “That feels nice.”

Matt smiled and nodded his head as he reached out and caressed his new friend’s skin. “Yes it does and your skin is nice and soft too.”

 

The boys removed their socks then stood. Both boys seemed to know what to do next without a word being spoke. They each unbuttoned their jeans then slowly pushed them to the floor.

Each boy followed the other’s jeans as they slid down their respected bodies. As they looked at each other, both had smiles on their faces. Matt stepped forward then caressed Dar’s chest. Dar gasped as Matt ran his hand across his nipple then around his stomach. “God Matt, that feels good.”

Matt smiled. “I can tell; your dick is hard.”

Dar giggled. “Yours is too.”

I fixed myself another cup of coffee then sat back down at the table as Jay and Ronnie came walking in. “What did the boys want to talk with you about?”

The boys laughed as Ronnie went to the cabinet. “Well, I think their shower is going to be taking a while. I have a feeling a little exploration is going to be taking place.”

Back in the shower, Matt got the water going then faced Dar. As if on queue, both boys reached for the underwear then slid them down. Their eyes were busy looking the other over. Dar reached out and caressed Matt’s dick. “Your dick feels so soft yet it’s so hard.”

The boys sat down then Jay suddenly remembered something. “Dad, there is a letter here from the Medical School for you?”

He went into the living room then returned with it. "I wonder what the Med School wants.”

I opened the letter and smiled. I looked up and everyone was staring at me especially Jay. I couldn’t keep this from him but I was wondering why it wasn’t sent to the house in Virginia. “OK, there’s no way I can keep this from you son. You’ve been formally accepted at the Medical School.”

Ronnie went over to his lover and held him in his arms. “Oh baby, that’s wonderful. Tomorrow is a special dinner.”

Matt got a devilish look on his face. “I bet there’ll be an early desert though.”

Ronnie had Jay still in his arms when he looked at Matt and just stuck his tongue out at him. I broke out laughing. “Son, they don’t need a reason to have special deserts.”

Ronnie turned around. “Dad!”

Jay kissed his lover. “He’s right babe, we don’t need a reason.”

Ronnie put his finger on Jay’s lips. “Shhh love, you’re letting out all our secrets.”

Jay playfully nipped Ronnie’s finger. “Love, I don’t care who knows what we do. We’re not doing it away from the house so they can just shove it.”

We finished our coffee then Matt and Dar started yawning. I looked at the clock and it was after 11. “It’s late guys and the boys are getting sleepy. I think we should call it a night.”

I took the cups and put them into the sink and rinsed them out. The boys headed to the bathroom while Jay secured the house. The boys came out and I needed to let out some coffee but Matt put his arms around me for a hug pushing on my now screaming bladder. “Thanks for being so cool Papa.”

I leaned down and kissed him on the top of the head. “Not a problem son but Papa’s gotta go and now.”

The boys giggled at my predicament as Matt let go. I quickly made it to the toilet in time to empty my bladder without an accident. When I came out, I heard a voice. “Papa, are you going to tuck us in?”

Jay and Ronnie were mid teens when they weren’t asking all the time so I wasn’t all that surprised. “Coming boys.”

When I went into the bedroom, I saw Dar on the inside against the wall and Matt was on the outside. When I got close to the bed, Matt sat up and reached his arms out for me. When he did this, the covers slid down and as I got closer, I could tell he wasn’t wearing anything. I sat on the edge of the bed as Matt reached out for his hug. “Good night Papa.”

I kissed him on the forehead then Dar sat up wanting the same. As he leaned over, his bare bottom started showing. He felt the draft then quickly tried to cover up. As he hugged me, the covers slipped and he went reaching as I started laughing. “Don’t worry about it Darrel. I know Matt is the same way and it’s fine.”

Dar just hugged me tighter on that. “Thanks Miguel. You don’t have a problem with us messing around?”

Dar kissed me on the cheek. “No guys, I don’t. Just don’t go too fast and what ever you do, you both have to agree on it.”

Darrel looked over at Matt who had a grin from ear to ear. Matt quickly hugged me again. “Thanks Papa.”

The boys got under the covers then I left to go to my room and get some much needed sleep. I was about to go into my room when Jay and Ronnie met me for good night hugs too. After 2 more sets of hugs and kisses, I was off to bed.

The next morning I awoke to Ronnie cooking. The smells of fresh coffee and bacon frying had my stomach growling and my mouth watering. After a quick stop in the bathroom, I headed to the kitchen. Jay and Ronnie were both at the stove. Ronnie was frying some bacon and Jay had just started some sausages. “Morning boys, you really know how to wake someone up.”

I went to the cabinet to get a coffee mug out when I felt Jay hug me. “I had to get you up some how Dad.”

I poured myself a cup of coffee then kissed Ronnie on the cheek as I headed for the table. “Was there something you needed my help with?”

Jay looked at me and smiled. “Well, I’d like to take a look around the Medical School. It’s been a few years since you showed it to me.”

I started giggling while fixing my coffee. “Is someone excited now?”

Jay flipped the sausages then looked at me. “Yeah Dad, I know I still have my senior year to do but I can’t believe I’m really going to be in Medical School.”

I was about to speak when Matt came into the kitchen still rubbing his eyes. “Morning everyone.”

I look up. “Morning son, where’s Dar?”

Just then another sleepy boy comes into the kitchen. “Morning everyone, can we watch TV for a little bit?”

Jay nodded his head. “Go ahead guys. Breakfast will be ready in about 15 minutes.”

The boys headed into the living room then Ronnie looked at me. “Dad, what do you have planned for Thanksgiving and Christmas?”

It’s just before September so I hadn’t really given any thought to it. “I’m not sure son, why are you asking?”

Ronnie brought the meat over to the table as Jay started the eggs. “Well, do you remember me telling you about my Sous Chef?”

I had to think for a moment. “I remember you telling me a little about her. You thought she had good skills but wasn’t ready yet for taking over.”

He went back over to the stove. “Yeah well I’ve been giving Kathy more and more to do as far as cooking goes and I’ve brought on another chef who does the lunch. I’m thinking on letting them handle the holidays so I can be with my family.”

“It’ll be nice to have everyone home for Thanksgiving son. I know your life right now is here in Durham with the restaurant.”

Ronnie stopped me then. “It is for right now but I want Kathy and the staff to be able to handle things without me. I know Angel wants me in Recife when the hotel opens.”

I knew that was true as we’d talked about that. “That’s right son but the hotel doesn’t open for another year. This Christmas I have something planned for the kids that I know will really surprise them.”

Jay turned around. “Oh Dad, what’s your plan?”

I giggled then waited while they got the eggs off of the griddle. While they were doing that, I stuck my head out of the door and got the boys to come to the kitchen. As soon as food was mentioned it was a stampede by 2 teenaged boys. Once the plates were filled I started telling Jay and Ronnie my plans for Christmas. “I’m going to get hold of Pablo and get some bunk beds put in the rooms then bring the children over to the big house.”

Ronnie got excited when he heard that. “Are you going to let them decorate it too?”

I nodded my head. “In deed I am son. Last Christmas we only had a few children but we’ve grown and I would like all of them to have something to remember.”

Matt looked at me. “What about gifts Papa?”

I smiled at him. “Not to worry there son, I have that covered too. I’ll have the manager of the foundation and my staff at the home begin to get gifts here and there and Pablo can store them at the Foundation.”

Jay was smiling as he ate while looking at Ronnie. “I can’t wait to see their eyes on Christmas Day Dad.”

I looked at Matt and he was smiling at Dar. “What’s on your mind son?”

He swallowed his mouthful. “Well Papa, I kinda feel like they will because this will be my first Christmas with my new parents and I know it will be one I won’t forget.”

After we finished breakfast we got the kitchen clean. “You guys need to get dressed. Jay wants me to show him around the Med School and Ronnie needs to go to the restaurant.”

Matt looked at me. “Aww Papa, do we have to go?”

Jay looked between Ronnie, the boys and me. “Dad, they’ll be alright here, if they want to stay home.”

I thought about it for a minute. “OK boys, you can stay home. I don’t want you taking off but you can go out back if you want to play. Jay and Ronnie have an answering machine so if the phone rings don’t answer it, just wait until it picks up and listen to the incoming message. If it’s me I’ll tell you to pick up and answer.”

The boys came over and quickly gave me a hug. Matt looked at Dar. “Come on let’s get back to the TV.”

I went and got a quick shower and shave then we were ready to go. I gave the boys a hug then left them to watch TV. As soon as Jay and I were out the door he giggled. “I wonder just how long they’ll be watching television?”

Back inside, the boys were watching TV but cuddled close to each other. Matt looked into Dar's eyes then gently kissed him. It took Dar by surprise but he smiled. “That was nice.”

Dar took the lead this time and kissed Matt. Matt got into the kiss and ran his tongue against Dar’s teeth. He opened his mouth and soon they were into a deep French kiss. When they broke, each boy was sporting major stiffies. Matt stood looking at Dar then removed his shorts. Dar smiled then quickly removed his. “You want to go back to bed?”

Matt picked up his shorts then took Dar by the hand. “Come on but I’m not sleepy.”

Dar giggled as they walked down the hall. “I’m not either, but the bed is more comfortable than the couch.”

The boys got on the bed then started to cuddle and caress each other’s dicks. Dar looked at Matt’s now leaking dick then ran his finger over the head getting some of his precum on it. Matt nodded his head. “The boy I like was the same way but I didn’t tell him I was gay either. I know once we get to know each other better we’ll tell the other.”

Over at Duke, I was showing Jay the classrooms and the labs. We went by a huge room and Jay stopped and looked inside. “What’s this room Dad?”

I looked inside and knew right away. “This is the gross anatomy lab son.”

He looked around at the tables. “Gross anatomy Dad, what’s that?”

I thought back to my time in there then chuckled. “That’s right son. You first learn anatomy in the textbook then it’s on to the lab to see it first hand.”

Jay was standing there with his mouth open. “See it first hand?”

I nodded my head then put my arm around his shoulder. “Yes son, you’ll be learning on cadavers the inner workings of the human body.”

I could see my son swallowing hard. “Dad, I, I, I don’t know about this.”

I decided to let him in on a secret as I led him down the hall. “Son, do you think I had an easy time in Med School?”

We walked down the hall and headed towards the exit. “Well yeah Dad, I’ve seen the way you are. You’re smart and confident. There isn’t anything I don’t think you can’t do.”

I kissed him on the head. “Not really son. I had my challenges when I was in Med School. The first time I had gross anatomy I got sick.”

Jay stopped and looked at me. “No way Dad, you got sick in class?”

I nodded my head. “Yes I did son.”

I was about to continue. “Miguel Sanchez, as I live and breathe.”

I looked at where the voice was coming from and I saw someone walking towards Jay and me. I couldn’t make out who it was so I was wondering how he knew who I was. “Who’s that Dad?”

I shook my head. “I don’t really know son but whoever it is, he seems to know me.”

“Miguel, you can’t answer?”

I looked at the figure again and he was close enough for me to make out who it was. “Well I’ll be damned. How are you Billy, it’s been a long time.”

I stuck my hand out to him as he approached. “I thought that was you but wasn’t sure when I saw you with that young man.”

He shook my hand then I put my arm around Jay. “Billy, this is my son Jay. Jay, this is a very good friend of mine back when I was in medical school. I’d like you to meet Dr. Billy Shields.”

I could see the look on Billy’s face. “Your son Miguel? When did you get married? You’d always given me the impression you were going to be married to your career.”

I nodded my head. “You’re right my friend, I was married to my career and still am to a degree but after my father died he left his Foundation to me and I was determined to carry on his legacy.”

“So how did you end up with a son?”

We stepped outside then headed over to the cafeteria. On the way, I started explaining things to him. “After I graduated from Med School, I returned to Recife. Shortly after I got back Dad was diagnosed with cancer. There wasn’t anything that could be done for him except to keep him as comfortable as possible.”

We went inside and got something to eat and sat down at a table. “Oh Miguel, I’m sorry about your Dad.”

“Thanks Bill. After I buried Dad, I set out to continue his work. He’d just finished having the new children’s wing built on the hospital. I dove into the accounts and found a manager who was wise with investments. I hired him and soon the foundation was growing. It was when I was still in Recife that I came upon Jay and his brothers.”

I looked at Jay and his expression was one of sadness as I told Billy how I’d saved him, Ronnie and Steven. Billy set his drink down on the table. “You came upon them?”

Jay took over from there. “Yeah, you see I was living on the streets at the time. Mom was more interested in getting high than being a mother so I did what I had to in order to survive.”

Tears were falling from his eyes. I scooted closer to him then wrapped my arm around his shoulder. I didn’t go into all the details as I finished. “Jay got into a bit of a bind and I got him out of it. Ronnie and Steven were 2 of his closest friends so I adopted the three of them.”

Billy was sitting there with his mouth hanging open. “Miguel, the one thing I knew about you was you never did anything half way. Jay, are you going to follow in this guy’s footsteps?”

Jay smiled. “Yes I am. One day I hope to be standing across from him in the OR assisting him.”

I looked at Billy. “I told you what I’ve been up to so what have you been doing all these years?”

Billy giggled. “Nothing as fancy as you have, that’s for sure. I went on and became a general surgeon here at Duke then about 5 years ago I became the administrator.”

Now I was in awe. Billy and I were alike in many ways. We were both dedicated to our professions. “The hospital couldn’t be in better hands my friend.”

We got up and put our trash in the can then went outside. Billy looked at us. “Are you two in a rush to be somewhere?”

I looked at my watch and it was a little after 11. I hadn’t told the boys what time we’d be back but I didn’t want them worrying either. “I need to call the house so I can check on someone.”

Billy nodded his head. “Follow me then and I’ll give you guys a tour of the hospital. I don’t think you’ll recognize it now.”

Jay and I walked to the Blazer. “Dad, did you work there?”

I unlocked the doors. “Yeah I did son. I did my residency there before going back to Brazil.”

I waited for Billy to back out of his space then I followed him over to the hospital. “Where did you learn surgery Dad?”

“You learn that in your internship son then after that you do your residency which is where you go into your specialty. I did my pediatrics at Duke then did my surgical program in Recife.”

It only took a few minutes to get over to the hospital and Billy was right, I didn’t recognize it. Over the past 20 years, they’d expanded the hospital and now it was a huge complex. I found a place to park then we waited for Billy. “Where should I do my residency Dad?”

I thought for a moment. “Well son, Children’s Hospital has an excellent program and I have residents work with me and Paul.”

I saw Billy walking towards us. “Well then put Children’s on your wish list for your residency program.”

I was looking at all the new buildings. “Well Miguel, what do you think of your alma matter now?”

Jay too was in awe of the facility. “Wow Dr. Shields. This place is huge. I can’t wait until I graduate.”

I laughed. “You’ll be working in there soon enough son. 3^rd and 4^th year Med Students start getting practical experience.”

We headed over to the hospital and Billy swiped his ID card into the lock. The light turned green then he opened the door. “Follow me guys and I’ll take you to our Emergency Department.”

We followed Billy sticking close. This place had really become a marvel of modern technology. I remember when I did my internship and the ER only had 10 beds. We came to two large doors and Billy swiped his card through the lock again. The place was huge and the doctors and nurses were in what looked like organized confusion. “I can’t believe this place Billy, it’s like 5 times what it was when we were students.”

Billy laughed. “Try 10 Miguel; there are 100 beds here in the department. We have all the latest equipment here. There are 2 CT scanners and they’re planning on adding another.”

We followed Billy to the nurse’s station.  Jay was looking around as the staff was going here and there like a well choreographed dance routine. He looked at me then quickly moved out of the way as an X-Ray Tech came by with a portable x-ray machine. “Was it like this when you were here Dad?”

I shook my head. “No son it wasn’t and I’m glad of that but I’m sure you’ll get used to the routine.”

Billy led us around to the other side of the station so we’d be out of the way. “What do you think Miguel?”

My head was in a blur as I watched the goings on. “I’m glad it wasn’t like this when we were students Billy. I remember the long shifts we had and now, I’m sure I’d be lost.”

Billy started laughing when a nurse came in. “There is a woman out in the waiting area saying her son is really ill and needs to see a doctor now.”

Billy stopped laughing. “Get her registered then call the on-call Pediatrician.”

I looked at Billy. “There’s not one on duty now?”

Billy shook his head. “It’s Saturday Miguel. We only have ER Physicians here. I could put out a page but I really doubt it.”

Jay smiled and put his hand on my shoulder. “Dad’s a Pediatrician.”

Billy sighed. “I forgot about that. I’ll get you.”

“Hey you, this area is for Duke University staff ONLY.”

Billy looked at where the voice came from. “Excuse me?”

The kid came over and wiggled his ID card hanging from his white coat. “I said pops, this area is for staff ONLY. I guess you have a hearing problem.”

I saw Billy’s demeanor change to one of outrage. He was about to speak when another voice was heard. “Dr. McFadden, don’t you have patients to see?”

The young doctor turned to look where the voice came from. “Yes Dr. Belote but I’m trying to tell this old man here that this area is for Duke University Medical Staff only.”

While the young doctor’s back was turned, Bill hung his ID from his jacket pocket. “What old man Doctor?”
