I quickly rinsed the boys’ butts before the soap dried and they started itching. After rinsing the rag, I did their jewels making sure to get the soap out of their pubes. Chapter 15

The next morning, the boys had me up at 7. “Come on Dad, the day’s flying by.”

Caleb shook his head. “Come on Dad, we’re hungry.”

Never try to talk your way out of getting hungry teens food. “Alright guys, I’m getting up.”

I managed to get out of bed and into the bathroom so I could relieve my bladder. When I came out, I was surprised to find the boys dressed and not having another round of exploration. I got dressed then we headed into Epcot to find a place open. After eating breakfast, we had a few minutes until the park opened. We left Epcot and started strolling towards the park when my cell phone rang. I looked at it then handed it to Dale. “Hello Mom.”

I wondered if that surprised her. We watched as Dale talked with his Mom then he came back over handing me the phone. “Mom says I have to be out front by 4. We have to get dinner then get to bed early to catch our flight.”

Caleb’s eyes got big. “How’d you manage to get your toy here? You let that go through the X-ray machine?”

Dale giggled. “Nah, I went to the bathroom and put it inside my sock. It was rubber and didn’t set off the metal detector.”

I was impressed with this thinker. “Umm, what about the vibrator portion, didn’t they question that?”

Dale shook his head and giggled. “Nope, I guess they thought that was Mom’s.”

Caleb howled. “Oh God love, I would have loved to have seen the looks on their faces as that bag went by.”

We entered the park and had a great time. The day seemed to fly by and soon the boys and I were heading back to the hotel. I felt honored as both the boys each had one of my hands. When we came in, I was about to call Grace when I saw her sitting in the lobby. We walked up and she smiled. “Why didn’t you let us know you were here? We’d have got you so you could have enjoyed the park.”

She shook her head. “I didn’t want to seem like I was intruding on you guys today.”

We headed down to the room so Dale could get his bag. The boys walked ahead of us and were holding hands. Grace nudged me smiling and I did the same looking at her. Caleb used his key to open the door then they hurried into the bedroom. A few minutes later they returned and both boys seemed sad that their weekend was coming to an end. Grace went over to the boys and pulled them into a hug. “This isn’t goodbye boys it’s more like cya later.”

They looked at each other then back towards Grace. “Huh Mom?”

I was a little confused too then she walked over. “Before I went out this morning, I got a phone call from work. I have to go out of town in 2 weeks. I’ll be gone from Thursday until Sunday. Mike, would it be?”

Caleb didn’t let her finish. “Yeah, he can stay can’t he Dad?”

I had 2 sets of puppy dog eyes staring at me. “Sure that’s not a problem. I’ll just pick Caleb up from school that day then come over to your place and get Dale.”

Caleb got a sullen look on his face when I mentioned that. “Dad, it’s gonna suck now.”

Grace looked at him confused. “I enrolled Caleb in private school this year. I didn’t like the public one.”

Dale smiled. “Oh wow, this is gonna be an even better school year.”

Caleb looked up. “Huh? You mean you go there too?”

Dale nodded his head. “Yeah, I’ve been going there for a year now.”

Grace looked at Dale. “Why do you think I’m taking all this work son? Do you think it’s because I like it?”

He looked at the floor. “Umm well, no Mom. I’m sorry.”

I was hoping I wouldn’t embarrass Grace. “Grace, I know that school isn’t cheep.”

She interrupted me. “Mike, I’m working and I don’t take charity.”

I shook my head. “I didn’t say you did Grace and it wasn’t, exactly.”

She looked at me. “Mike, I don’t take charity.”

I walked over and put my arms around Dale. “It’s no charity Grace. Look, I’m well off financially and besides, I think this is the least I can do for my son’s boyfriend.”

Dale looked up at me and flashed his tin grin at me. “That’s right Mom.”

Caleb came over and hugged me. “Thanks Dad. Ms. Saunders, Mike just told us about what happened so it was a little of a surprise to me too but Dad’s right.”

“Grace, before I moved here, I hit the lottery. I have more money than I’ll ever use.”

I could see her thinking. “Mike, I enjoy my job and I like meeting people although I can’t say as I like all the travel.”

I smiled. “I can understand that so slow down on the out of town trips. When you do have to go, you know Dale will have a place to stay and he’ll be safe and sound.

Caleb looked at Dale. “What grade are you in?”

Dale looked at Caleb. “I’ll be in the 9th, but I was held back a year.”

Caleb smiled. “Cool dude, I’ll be starting the 10th.”

We were quickly surrounded by the boys. “Just give him a note so he can get off the bus at my house.”

Grace nodded her head. “I will Mike. Come on son, we have to get going.”

Neither Dale nor Caleb stood on ceremony as they wrapped each other in a big hug. We watched them, then Caleb lifted his head and the boys kissed each other. Dale came over and hugged me tightly. “Mike, this was a weekend I’ll remember for ever. Thanks for everything.”

I leaned down and kissed him on the cheek. “This was something none of us will son. We’ll see you in 2 weeks.”

The boys hugged and kissed again then Caleb watched sadly as Dale and Grace left the room. “God Dad, I miss him already.”

“I know you do sport,” I replied as I embraced him. “Do you want to go back into the park before it gets too late?”

He shook his head. “I don’t think so Dad. How about we find a movie or something and I cuddle with you?”

I’d never refuse any chance to cuddle with my son. “Sure thing son, why don’t you look on the pay per view channels and see what’s on?”

He turned on the TV and looked. “Here’s one Dad. It’s called Die Hard and it has Bruce Willis in it.”

I’d seen the movie before and it was a good flick. “Sure son, go ahead and order it.”

He did then he closed the blinds in the room and disappeared into the bedroom. I got myself something to drink then Caleb returned in his all together. We got comfortable and watched as Bruce kicked ass, killed loads of bad guys and saved the day. After the movie ended I heard Caleb’s stomach rumble and I giggled as he sat up. “Are you trying to tell me it’s time to fill that black hole up?”

After we returned from dinner, we got everything packed and ready for our trip home in the morning. At 11, I was ready to call it a night but my boy was anxious. “I can’t sleep Dad.”

I saw Caleb getting antsy. “Yeah we are. Hold on, there is someone here itching to talk with you.”

I handed the phone to Caleb and the boys talked until we got home. I tapped Caleb on the leg so he hurried and finished his conversation. As soon as we pulled up, the cats were anxious to see us. I paid the driver and got our bags as Caleb opened the gate leading to the house then ran to see the cats. “Don’t let them out until the limo is gone son.”

She got up then headed back to the enclosure. We got our bags then went inside the house. After we got unpacked I started fixing some lunch. Caleb spent most of the afternoon in the enclosure with Chaka. I was about to start fixing dinner when Caleb came running in. “Dad Chaka’s giving birth.”

He turned around and ran back out the door. Before I could get to the door, I saw Caleb crawling back inside the enclosure. I stopped in the office and grabbed some rubber gloves then hurried over. I stuck my head inside to see what was going on and the first thing I saw was Sultan glaring at me. I climbed over the big cat then eased my way down to where Caleb was. One cub was out and Chaka was cleaning the little one. Once that was finished, she stretched out and I could tell she was trying to deliver another cub. I handed Caleb a pair of gloves then put mine on. “Look Dad, here comes another cub and it’s white like Rajah.”

I watched as a second cub was delivered then she began to clean the placenta off. While she was doing this, I looked at the first cub so I would know if it was a male or female. I petted the mother. “You have a daughter Chaka.”

When she’d finished cleaning the second cub she looked at me as if to let me know it was OK to look at the other one. I went to pick it up but Caleb beat me to it. “It’s a boy Dad.”

He set the cub beside his sister so he could start nursing. We sat there patiently wondering if another cub was on the way. I finally reached over and felt Chaka’s belly and I couldn’t feel any more cubs inside her. “That’s all son. Do you have any ideas for names?”

I could see him thinking. “Yeah I do Dad. How about we call the girl Shika?”

I liked the name. “Sounds good son and we’ll call the male Sahib.”

He smiled. “I like that name Dad.”

Just then Raj came in and went over to look at the new arrivals. He leaned down and sniffed each cub. I was a little worried because I didn’t know how he’d take to having new arrivals. He gave them one more sniff then turned around and left the enclosure. I knew for the next several months Raj would have to stay out of that area. I didn’t want him feeling threatened then killing the babies. I took Rajah out of the enclosure and put him in the other one. “Caleb, come on son and put the lock on the cage so Raj can’t get in.”

Caleb came out then locked that gate. “He’s not gonna like that Dad.”

“He’ll get used to it,” I said then turned to go inside.

Rajah didn’t like being outside the enclosure because he didn’t know what was going on. He would sit by the fence and watch but finally got used to the idea he wasn’t allowed inside.

After dinner, I got Caleb into the shower and at 9 it was time for him to get to bed. “Aww Dad, I’m not a baby.”

I looked at him. “Son, we had a busy day and right now, you’re running on adrenaline. I’ll let you stay up another hour, how’s that?”

He came over and quickly got comfy on my lap. “That’s fair Dad.”

The next morning, I didn’t have much of a problem getting him up for school. I knew once he crashed, he would sleep hard from all the activity. The week went by quickly and Thursday evening Dale was on the phone talking with Caleb. “Man Dale, I wish we were in the same grade.”

Caleb was looking at me with a sly smile on his face. “Flattery will get you everywhere son. What did you Mom say?”

“She said it was fine provided it was alright with you.”

I thought for a moment. “Well, pack a bag and have your Mom write you a note so you can ride Caleb’s bus then I’ll see you when you both get home tomorrow.”

I handed Caleb the phone back then he disappeared down the hall. Friday I was kept busy with patients and Chaka made an appearance outside the shelter with Shika and Sahib. Rajah was sitting outside the cage when I walked outside. He turned around then came over rubbing himself against me. I reached down and patted him then he gently took my arm into his mouth leading me over. Chaka was lying down and the cubs were nursing. “Are you telling me you want to see the cubs?”

I removed the lock from the gate and went in followed by Rajah. Sultan looked at me then came over for some attention. “I know big guy, I haven’t given you much attention.”

He sprawled out then rolled over onto his back. I sat down on the ground and continued scratching the big cat. The next thing I knew I had two cubs crawling over me. Rajah sat there watching intently as our newest additions became acquainted with me. He leaned down and sniffed Sahib. The cub jumped at being startled then looked at the bigger cat. Rajah sniffed him again then Sahib licked Raj’s nose.

I watched as Raj and the cubs got acquainted. They began to romp around then Chaka led them outside so they could explore a little more. Raj stood beside me then I heard Caleb and Dale walking down the drive. Caleb opened the gate. “Hi Dad, we’re home.”

I came around the side of the house with Rajah at my side. Dale stopped and stared. “Mike, there’s a tiger beside you.”

I reached down and rubbed Rajah then Sultan came around the side of the cages. Caleb took Dale by the hand then patted the big cat. “Relax baby, they won’t hurt ya. Dad, where’s Chaka and the cubs?”

The boys came over then we watched as Raj sniffed Dale. He reluctantly reached down and rubbed the white cat. Just then Raj turned and headed behind the house. Chaka was carrying one of the cubs in her mouth. I reached down and held my hands out and she gently put the cat in them. She turned and trotted off towards the field with Caleb in hot pursuit. Dale stood there. “Should I go with him?”

I nodded my head then rubbed the cub. “Come on kiddo.”

Dale took off running after Caleb and I followed in a trot. When I caught up with everyone Caleb was on his hands and knees. He looked up at me. “Shika’s down there, Dad.”

I handed Dale the cub then knelt beside Caleb. I reached my arm down the hole and tried to feel around for the little cub. “Eeeeeeeyow,” I screamed as the cub latched on with her little teeth and claws.

I managed to free my fingers and get hold of her by the scruff. I rolled my hand so she was on her side then pulled her out. As soon as she broke the surface Chaka was standing there. I set the cub on the ground then mama picked her up in her jaws carrying her back towards the house. I looked at my fingers and took a quick count. “What’s wrong Dad?”

Dale laughed. “I think his fingers became a tiger toy.”

I reached down and tickled Dale then watched as Sahib started licking him. He was making faces. “His tongue is rough, Caleb help.”

Caleb took the cub as we headed towards the compound. “Caleb, take Sahib and put him with Chaka then let’s get cleaned up so we can go out to dinner.”
