Chapter 6

The years flew by swiftly.  For the students at UB, their days were filled with study, football and baseball.  Their nights were filled with love.  No matter how much time passed, their love for each other did not wane; it strengthened.

But everything in life has a beginning, a middle, and an end.  Cory, Michael and Jaden graduated, leaving Bryan alone at the university.  Cory was accepted to Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York.  Michael was accepted to Fordham Law School, also in New York.  Jaden got a good job in New York with an Investment Management firm, and the three of them rented a two-bedroom apartment in Manhattan.  Bryan had no more decisions to make as to where to go on school holidays and breaks.  He went to New York.

A year later, Bryan was accepted to study medicine at Mt. Sinai Medical school, and he moved in with his lover and brothers.  They quickly found the gay community, and the gay life style, in New York City.  They blended right in, making dozens of new friends.  There was very little gay life evident in Syracuse or Albany.  They never realized how provincial their home towns were.  There was a tacit agreement between the four of them, that they were all going to make New York their home.  All four of them were enjoying successful and fulfilling careers in The Big Apple.

When it became obvious that the boys were never coming home, Rob and Richie sold their home, and occupied the dormer in Arlen and Kenzie’s home.  If any of their children came for a visit, they still had one dormer bedroom available for their use.  Arlen and Kenzie were both fully retired now, and Rob and Richie were right behind them.

The eight occupants of the house mainly made love to their own husbands and partners, but occasionally they enjoyed playing group games.  They didn’t do it often, so it was a rare treat that they all looked forward to.

Without being aware of the passage of time, the family was about to celebrate Mac’s fortieth birthday, and soon after, Dennis’s forty-fifth.  At Mac’s celebration dinner, Arlen announced that now that Rob and Richie were about to retire, the four of them were going to look for a vacation condo in Florida.  They wanted to escape the harsh winters of upstate New York.  They assumed that it would be used only in the winter, at first, but they didn’t deny the fact that it might become a permanent home someday, so the condo had to be substantial enough for year-round living.

Mac urged the retirees to stay at The CUMfort Inn while they were house hunting.  Everyone thought it was a great idea, and Mac went on line to book their stay.  In the past, he always found the resort listed under gay resorts and hotels in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, but when he looked there, he couldn’t find it.

He googled hotels in Ft. Lauderdale, and couldn’t find it there either, but one resort, named “Heaven’s Best” caught his eye.  He recognized the pictures immediately.  It was The CUMfort Inn.  Disappointed, Mac called the hotel, and asked for Jake or Marius.  He was directed to the manager, Jerry Bloom.  Mac remembered that Jerry was the assistant manager when he honeymooned there.

“I don’t know if you’ll remember me,” Mac said to Jerry, “but I honeymooned at the CUMfort Inn fifteen years ago.  My two brothers and my two cousins, were honeymooning with me also.  He gave Jerry his name.  Jerry didn’t recognize it, but he did remember the three honeymooners.

“Yes, I do remember,” Jerry said.  “Did you want to book with us?”

“No, I was looking to book for my dad and three others.”

“Perfect.  We aren’t a gay resort anymore, so your folks will be very comfortable here.”

“My father and his friends are gay,” Dennis said.  “Where are Marius and Jake?”

“I am so sorry to tell you this, but they were both in ill health, and their doctor suggested that they move to a dry climate, preferably at a high elevation.  They sold the resort to a large hotel chain, and as far as I know, they are living in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The new owners upgraded and converted the resort into a vacation getaway for the general public.  We still get some gays, but they are in the minority.  It was a sad day for me when Jake and Marius sold out, but I was fortunate that I was kept on as Day Manager.”

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Mac said.  “Can you recommend any other gay resorts in the area?”

“Look, you never heard it from me, but try Pineapple Point Guest House.  They’re a five-star resort.”

“Thanks Jerry, and good-luck” Mac said.

He immediately googled Pineapple Point, and he liked what he saw.  He knew that pictures always made a place look more attractive than it was, but even so, it looked like a good getaway hotel.  They offered free parking and clothing optional facilities in most of the resort.

Mac booked a week’s stay in a double room with two queen-sized beds.  If they didn’t find a condo in that week, they could stay on, or come home.  That would be their decision. The resort was very pricey, but the four of them together, could well afford it.  Mac had been told that April and May were about the pleasantest months of the year in South Florida, so he booked them for a stay right after Easter.

Mac could see the handwriting on the wall.  Their fathers and uncles would eventually move full time to Florida.  The family, which loved each other so much, was dispersing. Mac cried a little, thinking that he, Dennis, Ari and Larry would be the Syracuse contingent; Bryan, Cory, Jaden and Michael, would be the New York contingent; and Arlen, Kenzie, Rob and Richie would represent Ft. Lauderdale.

He had seen this happen in other families to some of his friends, and he had no reason to believe that his family would be immune. At least he knew where he and Dennis could vacation and visit in the future.  He held a brothers’ meeting to discuss their future plans.  Did they want to buy the house from their fathers?  Did they want their fathers to sell, and they would buy a more modest condo?  The four brothers were disturbed by the whole idea, and couldn’t face making a decision right then and there.

“We still have each other,” Ari said.  “Please, let’s sleep together tonight.”

Deciding the immediate future was an easier decision than deciding an iffy future, and everyone agreed. They all got naked in Ari and Larry’s room.  There was never a doubt that Ari and Mac would pair up.  From the day Mac showed up on his doorstep, dirty and disheveled, and Ari let him into the house, they shared a special bond.  Ari had cleaned the blood and filth off his body, and delicately tended to his bleeding ass.  They loved each other so much, that if Larry hadn’t been in the picture, they may well have become a couple themselves.  Even if they were married to different men, they lived together, and made love together, so they didn’t have to second guess their lives.

Ari and Mac didn’t have a clue what their husbands were doing.  They were too wrapped up in the love they were about to share.  They decided that Ari would give Mac a trip around the world, which would include rimming, and then Mac would do the same to Ari.  When they had exhausted the game, they would suck each other alternately, and end by fucking each other.  When they first got naked, they held each other so tightly, they didn’t want to let go.  They were engaging in a marathon kissing session.  Clinging together like that, they had difficulty separating to begin the first trip around the world.  Their entire encounter lasted four hours.  Larry and Dennis were done in two hours, and were snoring away, while Ari and Mac continued to make love.

After the love making, they all managed to fall asleep in the queen-sized bed.  In order to accomplish that feat, they had to nest together like spoons.  When Ari and Mac finally gave up, and nested comfortably with their husbands, Mac whispered, “I love you all so much.”  Nobody heard him.  They were all sleeping soundly.

On the day of their departure to Florida, Mac borrowed a Chevrolet Equinox demo from the dealership, and drove his fathers and his uncles to the airport.  They needed plenty of room for all their luggage and for themselves.  They did their kissing and well-wishing the evening before at home, so Mac dropped them off at curbside. and headed back to work.

Before leaving for Florida, the older generation went through the same decision making process as their sons.  The only thing they decided up front was that they didn’t want a house.  They wanted a maintenance free condominium.  Should they buy in a straight senior community; a straight open community, where there would be children; a gay community; a gay senior community?  They didn’t even know if there were gay senior communities.  They decided to keep an open mind.

They did consult the gay yellow pages, and found several realtors listed.  They decided to consult with one of them as soon as they arrived.  The one they chose had a Wilton Drive address.  Arlen and Rob remembered that the gay bar they went to, so many years ago, was located on that street.

When they arrived in Ft. Lauderdale, they rented a minivan large enough to accommodate four men and lots of luggage.  It also contioned a navigation system.  They weren’t certain how long they would stay in Florida, so they took plenty of clothes with them.

The minute they got into their room, they unpacked, and called the realtor on Wilton Drive.  They made an appointment for ten o’clock the next day.  Then they went down to the clothing optional pool.  They agreed to relax during the day, go to a gay bar and grill for dinner, and do some socializing at the bar afterward.  They would begin condo hunting the next morning.

They couldn’t remain naked at the pool very long.  The sun was too strong.  All four still had good bodies for their ages, but they weren’t getting the same appreciative stares as they used to.  That didn’t stop them from enjoying the eye candy around the pool.

They showered off the chlorine two at a time, and then formed a daisy chain.  It took them much longer to cum those days, and their pricks didn’t get solid hard, but they could still manage to fuck.  When, finally, they all came, they showered again.

They wore shorts, sandals and tee shirts.  They were all going commando to the bar.  The free parking at the resort was self-service.  They went to the minivan, piled in, and headed for Wilton Drive.  Rob and Arlen noted that they weren’t driving from Boca Raton this time, and the bar was only minutes away.

They wondered if it was still there.  It was, but it had been drastically updated, and had a different name.  It had also been expanded, and now included what once was a next door restaurant.  They had a much more gourmet dinner than Rob and Arlen had years ago.  After dinner they hovered around the piano bar.  Kenzie volunteered to be the designated driver, and he drank coke, while his brothers enjoyed something stronger.

Everyone around the bar was very friendly, and when they heard that they were looking to move down, they got suggestions from all sides.  More than ever, they decided to put their faith in the hands of a professional realtor.

They hated to leave the bar, but tomorrow was another big day.  Reluctantly they said goodbye to their new friends.  “We’ll see you again,” they promised.  They returned to the hotel, and went right to bed.  Just for variety, Arlen slept with Richie, and Kenzie slept with Rob.  Of course they all cuddled, fondled and kissed non-stop.  Nature had its way, and without planning it, Rob fucked Kenzie, and Richie fucked Arlen.  Rob and Richie were a little younger than Kenzie and Arlen, and could still come up with a good hard rod, suitable for fucking.

The realtor was a young, good looking, gay man, named Greg Silverman.  They went into a conference room with a large table.  Greg told them that this is where they often held closings on property.  He spent an hour interviewing them, trying to get a handle on what best met their needs.

“You know,” Greg said, “Ft. Lauderdale is not a typical gay community.  We have a very large gay population.  Sure, there’s a concentration of gays and lesbians living in Wilton Manors, but gays are generously sprinkled throughout the city.  Most of us live in standard neighborhoods.  Those of us who own private homes often reside in family neighborhoods.

Given that you guys have lived in a family neighborhood for years, I recommend that you look for a condominium large enough for all of you.  I guarantee wherever we look, in whatever community, you will not be the only gays on the block.”

“Greg took out an oversized book, and said, “Let me show you some wonderful condos.  If you only occupy it half the year, you’ll be able to leave knowing that your apartment and your building are being well maintained.

On the third day of their search, they purchased a large two-bedroom condo, with a convertible den, so that it could be used as a third bedroom.  They bought the apartment from an estate, and it came beautifully furnished.  The former owners had been very wealthy.  The apartment was located on the ocean in a community of high rises called Galt Ocean Drive.  It was on the seventh floor of a twelve story building.  The terrace looked out to the ocean, and the view was spectacular.

The closing couldn’t be arranged for a month, so they gave Greg their power of attorney, and when their week was up, they reluctantly left Florida.  Mac picked them up in the Equinox.  He could see how excited they were, and he was happy for them.  “There’s plenty of room when you guys want to vacation down there,” Arlen assured them.

They celebrated that night in an eight-man orgy.  They rarely did that any more, but they all felt that somehow it was appropriate, because they were coming to the end of an era.

To be continued...
