This is a song written and recorded by Rita MacNeil, a Canadian folk

To us this song illustrates exactly how we feel.
Reason to Believe
Click start arrow to play
song.
I've been going over my life
And I feel you in the breeze
You're a constant reminder
Of what used to be
And I know you walk beside me
On the earth beneath my feet
And though you're only a memory
You still give to me
A reason to remember,
And a reason to believe
I've been going over your life
And I've seen you on your knees
You so wanted favors bestowed upon me
And I know that in our distance
You were never out of reach
And though you're only a memory
You still give to me
A reason to remember,
And a reason to believe.
And the love that you gave to me
Is the reason that I feel
Why the heart needs affection
And the soul needs the peace.
I've been going over our time
And when parting had to be.
When you live through the changes
Oh the learning cuts deep
And I know that in your silence
You found a way to speak
And though you're only a memory
You still give to me
A reason to remember
And a reason to believe.
And the love that you gave to me
Is the reason that I feel
Why the heart needs affection
And the soul needs the peace.
And the love that you gave to me
Is the reason that I feel
Why the heart needs affection
And the soul needs the peace.
We will always love and miss you, Hank...

Tributes by friends and family
******
A great sadness has overcome me as I learn of Hank Snow's passing. He will truly be missed by many. I had the pleasure of working with him as he edited my last 4 chapters posted to date. His dedication and pure charm was a blessing to this struggling Author. I feel comfort in knowing he is at peace and warmed with God's Love looking down on us and smiling. My prayers go out to his family and friends.
Thank you Hank for all your help and guidance.
Love Hogan

It was somewhat of a shock to learn of Hank’s death after receiving this email from him on the 20th of January 2008. In response to loosing my surrogate grandsons, Jason and Nicky I just thought it would be a rather wonderful tribute to him in his own words. I just know that he and my boys are having a wonderful time in the hands of God.
“Dear Chuck,
“Here in recovery myself, it's all too easy to forget there's a world full of people outside my own pain ... I haven't felt up to doing much online in the two weeks since I've been back home, save for a few pleasant talks with our buddy Deep. I have, however, been very much aware of the pain you must have been going through over the loss of your surrogate-grandson, Jonathan/Jason, and his partner, as I remember you talking at length and with obvious deep affection for the two of them.
“In my whole life, Chuck, only the death of my partner, Jack, on Christmas night of 1989, truly affected me ... it plunged me into eight years of daily drunkenness, and depression so thick you could cut it with a knife. I now know that there are healthy ways to grieve, and I'm confident that you'll do 100% better than I did with the process of adjusting to a life without these two wonderful young men. I can offer my heartfelt condolences, I can tell you I understand, ... but you hurt now and those would be of little use to you.
“My own daughters think I'm superman, with over 20 years of illness and my recent bout with MSSA, the drinking, the other self-abusive behaviors I've put myself through ... and I'm still here, fighting to resume my life as normal. Why I live and others are taken is a huge mystery to me, but I figure God has plans of some sort, and He knows what He's doing, so I don't feel too guilty about still being alive. I would have said, "Take me, Lord ... I'm too old to die young." but His will must be done, in all things, leaving the mystery.
“Keep your faith, my friend, and pray to Him for guidance through this period of adjustment and acceptance. My prayers are with you, Chuck.
“With much love,
“Your friend in Oklahoma City,
hank”
Hank you were a wonderful man that will be missed by all who knew you. And to those that didn't, it will be their loss at not knowing you. I for one will never forget you, you were so much fun to talk to, and correspond with, full of jokes even though you were in all that pain. No more pain, no more worries, God speed my dear sweet man!!!
