Chapter 25

Stella and I were both quiet as I drove her home (we didn't seem as if we were going to be best buddies any time soon!); and I turned the CD player on [low] to ease the awkward silence. As previously noted it wasn't a long drive, but nevertheless it was long enough to give me an idea for mischief!

Thus when I pulled up outside Stella's house in Bury I turned the CD off after I'd pulled up and turned round in my seat to talk to Stella: "I've had a thought, and wondered if you would like to pop over to mine tomorrow night to surprise the boys? I could pick you up after I finish work about 5:45 if you wanted to visit." I said

Stella looked at me with a perplexed look on her face, and there was a stunned silence for a couple of minutes. "I don't bite!" I volunteered in a feeble attempt to break the impasse. Stella smiled, "No, I'm sure you don't," she replied to this witty remark. "After all, you seem to be a kind and considerate person from what little I've seen of you." Stella continued. This praise from Stella was enough to make my face flush a brighter shade of red.

"Thank you." I eventually managed to say. "So, what made you think of asking me if I'd like to visit?" Stella enquired. "Well, to be honest, it just seemed a wonderful wind-up for the boys as I'm sure Julian's bound to be planning an early night cuddled up with Juan as the new beds and stuff are being delivered. So, if you stopped by for a meal, and stayed and we played a game or two, we can watch him getting frustrated as time goes by!" Stella chuckled, "That's wicked, but I like it" she eventually murmurred.

I grinned and said, "So, I'll pick you up and we'll get something to eat on the way? I shan't tell the boys anything – it'll be a little surprise for them!" She smiled and nodded; and thus we parted. I waited until Stella had reached her door, opened it and entered before I moved off.

The journey home was uneventful and after I'd run for the door [it was raining!], and having successfully got inside, I used the remote to lock the car before locking the front door. I divested my coat and then went looking for the 2Js: I didn't have to go far – they were still sprawled, pyjama-clad on the bed/settee (only Julian was lying down on his back with Juan snuggled up on top of him now!)

Both of them looked up as I entered, and I stopped by the bed/settee and ruffled their hair before asking if they would like a drink – it didn't take them long to reply with a nod (Julian) and a smile and "Yes, please" (Juan). I nipped into the kitchen and rescued two cartons of orange juice for the boys and a can of Diet Coke for me.

The boys appreciatively took their drinks [I got a chorused "Thanks!" from them], and I went and sat at the far side of the dining table and popped the top of my can, taking a thirsty gulp before saying: "You both comfortable over there? Smart move Juan, lying on top of Julian!" Julian coloured up as my remark sank in, but Juan broke into laughter – which Julian quickly stifled by tickling his stomach, causing him to wriggle away and beg Julian to stop!

"So, as you seem to have made a full recovery, I guess that you're going to work tomorrow, Julian?" I enquired. Julian stopped tickling Juan (who fell back onto him) and took his time before replying eventually: "Yeah, I guess so." Juan raised himself up on top of Julian and whispered something into Julian's ear – whatever it was, it brought a smile to Julian's face as Juan dropped back onto his chest once more.

"As for you, Juan, we need to think about getting you back into school soon." This was greeted by a groan from Juan and Julian leaned up and kissed his forehead. "What I want to know is whether you want to go to the Catholic School in Bury St Edmunds or one of the State Schools – what do you think?" I asked. Juan thought about this (Julian was caressing his back as he did so, which may not have helped!) Eventually, Juan sighed and said "Can I think about that and let you know later in the week?" I nodded and then went for broke: "OK, guys, as one of you is going to work and so am I, we'd better be thinking about bed." This got a groan from them both!

I laughed, and getting up, walked over to the bed/settee and picked Juan up, easily ignoring his startled remonstrations and putting him over my shoulder, turned and made for the hall door. He wriggled in my grasp a little and I gently patted his pyjama-clad backside to settle him down – it worked and he lay still. "Say goodnight to Julian," I said as I opened the hall door and stopped before going through. Juan sulked, but as I started to walk through he realised that he had better make the most of his chances and he quickly called out, "Night Julian, love you!"

Taking him down to my bedroom and gently laying him on the bed I said "There, that wasn't too bad was it?" He pouted and refused to say anything; so I simply lifted him up and pulling the covers aside, laid him down again and pulled the blankets back over him. He lay there, still refusing to say anything, and I ruffled his hair and bending over, kissed his forehead "Night Juan, sleep well." I said as I stroked his cheek, amused at his efforts to show his displeasure.

He finally relented as I reached the door and as he snuggled down in the blankets, he called out softly, "Night Dave." I turned at the door and smiled at him, before turning his light out, pulling the door nearly closed and retreating back to the lounge. There I found that Julian had transformed the bed/settee into a bed and stripped off his pyjamas [they were on a chair by the dining table] and gone to bed (pointedly faced away from me and facing the wall!)

I fetched my pyjamas from beside the bureau and having undressed, went to the door by the head of the bed/settee and turned off the lights. I felt my way carefully back to the bed and climbed in, dropping my pyjamas down by the side of the bed next to me, and snuggling myself down in the blankets.

Once comfortable I rolled over to face Julian and reached up and tweaked his right ear, "You mad at me Julian?" I enquired. There was no response. I put my hand back under the blankets and reached out and stroked his side; that got a reaction! Julian wriggled away from me and muttered grumpily "Stop it, Dave, I've got a boyfriend." I grinned at this and said, "Yep, I know. But you shouldn't sulk just because I made you stick to the deal we made. And as a matter of interest, are you going to work tomorrow? Because if not, I'll have a lie-in."

Julian rolled over to face me with a look of alarm on his face: "But you said you would take me to and from work?" he whined. And I smiled as I replied: "You weren't listening, were you? I asked if you were going to work as I would have a lie-in if you weren't – I take it that your reaction means that you are going to work tomorrow." Julian blushed as he realised that he'd misheard me and he had the grace to apologise "Sorry, Dave; yes I do want to go to work tomorrow." I smiled and said, "OK, I'll make sure you're up in time to properly say goodbye to your boyfriend, OK?" This caused Julian to flush again and he mumbled, "Thanks."

I rolled over and closed my eyes; it wasn't long before I was asleep. The next thing I knew was I could hear the dawn chorus outside despite the double-glazed windows I'd installed at great expense. Groaning softly to myself I reached out for my pyjamas and then forced myself to get up and put them on.

Having got up, I stretched and yawned [I'm not an early morning person], I went through to the kitchen and put the kettle on [LOL: yes I filled it first]. Noting that the cooker clock said 06:40 I thought I'd go and use the bathroom before waking Julian – who was still peacefully sound asleep as I made my way through the lounge to the hall. I peeked round my bedroom door as I came to it and Juan was also still in the land of nod.

It didn't take long to shave, shower and use the toilet and peering into the bedroom again as I left, I noted that flushing the toilet [next to my bedroom] had woken Juan – he was still sleepy though. I continued back to the lounge and on my way past the head of the bed/settee I grabbed Julian's shoulder and shook him vigorously until his eyes flickered open: "Come on, sleepy-head; if you're quick you can pop down to the bedroom and cuddle up to Juan for a few minutes." Apparently I'd said the magic words: Julian's eyes flickered briefly, then he smiled and struggled upright, quickly getting out of the bed/settee and unashamedly stretching his naked body. I stood and watched as he loped off down the hall – still completely nude!

I went through to the kitchen and busied myself, making breakfast: as I had no idea yet what the boys liked (apart from orange juice). I simply made my own breakfast × 3: toast, light-boiled eggs and Kellogg's Frosties! It didn't take too long and having put a tablecloth on the dining table, I carried everything through and set the table and then went down the hall to my bedroom, where as I had expected, I found a pair of teenagers snuggled up to one another (Julian spooning Juan and caressing his stomach).

"OK boys, time to get up if you don't want a glass of cold water tipped over you!" I gleefully exclaimed as I went and drew the curtains to let the daylight flood in (the 2Js modesty was safe: my bedroom wasn't overlooked and in any event I had net curtains up at the window).

The boys showed no sign of moving and I muttered "I warned you!" as I went through to the bathroom and listened intently as I ran the tap – "Shit!" I heard Julian say and then the sound of a pair of anxious teenagers rapidly exiting the bed could be heard: I went to the door and waited for the 2Js to appear, and Julian glared at me and muttered "You evil sod!" as I smiled at him (still naked) and Juan in his pyjama bottoms as they hurriedly emerged from my bedroom.

I grinned and followed them down to the lounge and was glad that I didn't have to tell Julian to put something on, as unbidden he went and retrieved his pyjama bottoms and quickly slipped into them – I decided I could live with a bare-chested teenager at the breakfast table! The boys took their seats at the table and I slipped into mine on the other side of the table, and was pleased to note that both boys waited patiently for me to pour some Frosties into my bowl before making a move (then Julian grabbed the box and poured some into both their bowls).

We quietly munched our way through breakfast, and it wasn't until I'd finished and was nursing my second cup of Camp coffee that I said to Juan "So, what are you going to do today?" He looked up as I spoke to him and thought about it for a minute or so before replying "Just laze around and watch TV I guess." Julian muttered "Jammy little bugger!" at this, making me laugh at the appositeness of the remark and I had to smile as Juan poked him sharply in the stomach with his extended fingers, causing Julian to gasp.

"And you're coming home with the new furniture?" I asked Julian. His eyes lit up as he happily answered "Yep!" I couldn't help smiling secretly to myself at his obvious anticipation of a better night ahead, cuddled up to Juan (but then he didn't know about my devious piece of mischief-making!) Juan noticed me smiling and asked "Something amusing you, Dave?" I hastily shook my head as I tried manfully to rearrange my features into a neutral expression.

"You'd better go and get ready Julian as we'll need to be setting out in about half an hour." I said, and Julian nodded resignedly and got up, collected his clothes and departed down the hall to the bathroom. He looked just like I'd first met him when he emerged from the hall door about twenty minutes later: neat and tidy in his MFI uniform, and looking very presentable!

I picked up my briefcase and car keys as he emerged and said, "OK, let's go." Julian detoured across to Juan (still sitting at the table) and approaching him from behind, wrapped his arms round him in a hug and leaned down and kissed him affectionately on his neck and cheek before leaning round him and kissing him full on the lips. I stood and watched and was beginning to think I'd have to remonstrate with Julian when he finally came up for air, whispered in Juan's ear and then started to make his way towards me. If Stella had been with us she would have had no trouble in recognising that Julian's oral antics with Juan had fully aroused him (the evidence was rampantly pointing out in front of him!); leaving very little doubt to anybody that he really did like boys (and this one in particular!)

Settled in the car, we exited unhurriedly for Bury St Edmunds; as we left the village I asked Julian if he expected everything to be OK with the furniture that evening and he grinned as he confidently answered "Yeah; I'll make sure that everything's OK. I guess it'll be about 6:30 before I get home allowing for other deliveries on the way." I smiled quietly to myself as he said this, as it meant that Stella and I would be ensconced indoors before Julian arrived home to a surprise welcoming party!

And so, a year after the last chapter was posted, is the continuation. I would like to think that the story might continue to its conclusion at a faster rate, but after the last year I'm certainly not making any promises!

And just a note to mark what would have been (on the 28th April 2009) the 28th birthday of Ryan Skipper – you have not been forgotten: peace unto you.
