Chapter 17
Cheap Performance Matters

Asa sent a text to Adam and Andrew. Both men smiled after reading it.

It read…

Men,

I would like a sandwich tonight. Would you stop by early this evening,    Your grandpa

Asa’s phone rang immediately; it was Adam.

“What time do you want us there grandpa. You bet we will stop by, you rascal.” Said Adam

“Surprise me, said Asa. I will be here all evening.”

The situation-needed solutions, for Asa had a way of moving like a burst of wind, blowing in the right direction. There was sexual humdrum between the three Flatbush amigos; and although it didn’t bother Adam and Andrew; it did Asa.

It was something that concerned Asa; but hardly noticed by Adam and Andrew. They were happy go lucky young men who faced each day going about their business enjoying life.

There was little imagination, on the part of Asa, when it came to play time. The routine was predictable, and boring sex was a real possibility. His age gave him an advantage over his counterparts in the bedroom. It also was a disturbing disadvantage for competing; making him ridiculous as a bed partner with twenty two year old men. However, he handled it well.

Asa began thinking about this; and it wore on his mind. He did not object to boring sex, but he did not want to saddle others, who were young, active and horny performing the same movements, simply to please him, every time the underwear hit the floor. His first thought was to discuss the sexual arrangements with Adam and Andrew. He was adamant that everybody be content and happy.

There was plenty of gusto left, however a new playbook may have been necessary to keep the boys interested and naked. Everything had become a game; however, the old playbook was still working. Consequently, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. That too, was something  Asa thought about.

However, after a great deal of thought, Asa decide to ‘cool’ the slutty stuff for a while, and keep his mouth shut. There was little need to discuss anything. That alone would be a refreshing improvement, freeing the boys from listening to Asa complain.

He thought that if absence can make the heart grow fonder, then perhaps, it could make the crotch grow needy. It was ridiculous thinking, but Asa was a ridiculous man, with quick wit, good judgement, common sense, and age. Up until now, they all performed in his favor and he pondered over whether or not his judgement was still working. His final conclusion was to remain quiet and let this ridiculous game run its course. After a certain age, one just stops caring; and he thought about life that way.

Andrew was the first to arrive at Asa’s apartment, followed shortly by Adam

Everything was informal and they acted like children fooling around getting their clothes loose like professional rent boys. They were there to have sex with Asa and they loved doing it, as much as he did.

Politeness and sugar went out the window temporarily. They were men, not sissies, but grandsons who were there to nourish their pretend grandfather with their bodies, as vulgar as that sounds. It was a raunchy game they were about to play and they understood it well, but others may not.

Review of Flatbush Avenue

***

The story hinged on sex, but realistically it was about young and old people coming together in every imaginable way.

There was a great deal of forwardness and tender moments that first year. It became magical with Adam and Andrew as Asa’s pseudo grandsons.

Time passed and the months came and went. The sexual encounters between Adam, Andrew and Asa, dwindled as the days fled by; it was all good.

Asa had certainly lived “La Vida Loca” year after year, living on Flatbush Avenue, there was no one who remembered better than Asa, when it came to the good, the bad, and the gorgeous people, who came and went being a part of his life.

Talk about the best of times; this was certainly it.

You think so?" said Bernie - "Yes, I think so," replied Asa for the last time.

The End
