Chapter 1
Prologue
Author's note: Thanks to E Walk and DD for their helpful suggestions.
This chapter is dedicated to Ben and Shawn who were kidnapped by a pedophile, and held prisoner, one for four years and one for four days, and to all children who have been the victims of these pedophiles, who were victims of csa themselves. They are just like their own victims.
Hank Peters was a good looking young man, and about to start another year at Fogmarts School of Magic Wizardry. He had black hair and green eyes. He was 4’8, with a slender body. Somewhat shy, he was friendly once he got to know you. He was looking forward to seeing his best bud Rod Cox and another buddy, Nick Touchstone. The three had gotten to know each other during their first year.
Hank had been an orphan ever since his parents had been killed in a terrible accident. No one ever told Hank exactly what had happened, but he figured it must have been pretty bad.
He lived with his mortal uncle, Herman Bluster, Herman’s wife Hollyhock Bluster, and their son, Dan Bluster. Uncle Bluster was not a good uncle. He shouted a lot, and was always threatening to whip Hank, but somehow, something always made him hold back. Every day he left the house and went to his job in London. Aunt Holly was kind in her way, but she was very much under her husband’s thumb. Their son Dan crept around the house as if he were afraid of his shadow, and afraid of his Dad, but, oddly enough, not afraid of Hank.
Hank was a Wizard, as his parents had been, but his uncle and aunt and their son had no wizarding powers. Uncle Herman sneered at Hank’s powers, as if they were some disgusting bad habit. Aunt Holly and Cousin Dan never referred to them.
Harry was noticing some changes were taking place in his young body, and he was having emotions that he had never had before. If Uncle Herman had been the least bit friendly, Hank would have asked him about these changes. Fortunately, Rod’s two older brothers, Nippington and Tuckerman Cox (called Nip and Tuck by one and all) had taken Hank aside and explained what was happening to him, so that he would not be shocked, when certain parts of his body started to grow, and one part would become erect. They told him hair would grow in various parts of his torso, and it was nothing to be alarmed at.
They even explained what it meant if Hank should wake up and his briefs were wet, or if he had an urge to rub himself in the crotch.
All of this made Hank feel less confused and very grateful that he had such good friends.
THE STORM CLOUDS GATHER
One night Hank woke up. He heard Uncle Herman shouting, and Aunt Holly crying. He thought he heard—but it couldn’t be, could it? —The sounds of someone being slapped. Then the crying stopped. “What was going on?” he asked himself. “Surely Uncle Herman wasn’t hitting Aunt Hollyhock, was he?”
The next morning everyone was very quiet at breakfast. Uncle Herman didn’t say a word, but just read his paper. Aunt Holly served breakfast, but then went back into the kitchen and shut the door. Hank couldn’t be sure, but it looked as if Aunt Holly had put a lot of make up on. “Now why would she have done that?” Harry asked himself. Dan looked as if he was ready to cry.
After Uncle Herman had left for work, Hank heard Aunt Holly go upstairs, and after about ten minutes come down carrying a suitcase. She called Dan and Hank to her and said, “Boys, I have to go visit a friend who is very sick, and I may be gone a couple of days, but I should be back before Hank has to leave for school. Hank, look after Dan, and Dan, I want you to listen to your cousin Hank.”
“Can’t I go with you, mom?” Dan asked, with tears close to the surface of his eyelids.
“Dan, I am sorry, but you can’t. I’ll be home in a few days. Now be good, and listen to Hank.”
Aunt Holly gave Dan a hug and a kiss, and turned to Hank. “Hank, I may not have shown you as much affection as I should have in the past, but I have come to realize you are fine, dependable young man. I know your parents would be proud of you!” With that, she gave him a tight hug, and kissed the top of his head, and then left.
Hank didn’t say anything, but he wondered, “How did she know her friend was sick? She didn’t get any mail yesterday, and I didn’t hear the phone ring. Hmm!”
CRASHES OF THUNDER
Two days before Hank was to leave for school, Uncle Herman said, “Boys, I have prepared a special dinner for the three of us. Come to the table, it’s almost ready.”
Dinner was spectacular. There was a seafood salad and a joint of roast pork, with mashed potatoes, gravy, and peas, with apple cobbler for dessert. With the dessert, Uncle Herman brought in three glasses of cold cider.
“This will help you wash your dinner down, boys. Drink up, drink up,” Uncle Herman said.
Dan drank his down quickly, but after a swallow or two, Hank thought, “This doesn’t smell right. There’s a funny odor.” Hank got up from the table, and took his glass out on the patio, and when Uncle Herman wasn’t looking, he poured the cider onto the ground.
“Don’t worry about washing the dishes tonight, boys, This dinner was provided by a catering service, and they will be here soon to clear up and take away the mess,” Uncle Herman said. “Dan, you’re yawning, Maybe it’s time you went to bed—and you too, Hank.”
It was strange but Hank could hardly drag himself up to his room. He took off his clothes and got under the covers buck-naked. His head had hardly hit the pillow when he fell asleep.
* * * *
Later that night Hank half woke up. He thought he heard someone crying and he thought he heard someone being slapped, in his comatose state however, he could not be sure, and somehow he didn’t care. He turned over and went back to sleep—or rather, fell into an almost coma.
LIGHTNING, AND A WHIFF OF SOMETHING UNHOLY.
Hank was awakened by the sound of a door downstairs being slammed shut. Then he thought he heard muffled sounds coming from Dan’s room. Pausing only long enough to put on some shorts, he opened the door of his room, and went into Dan’s room. What he saw almost made him vomit.
Dan was lying naked on his bed, his hands and legs bound to the corners of the bed, and a gag was in his mouth. His upper body was covered with welts, and he was lying in his own urine and feces.
Hank quickly removed the gag from Dan’s mouth, and untied his arms and legs.
“Oh, Hank, thank God you’ve come. I was terrified he would come back,’ Dan sobbed.
”Who did this to you, Dan?”
“My dad did, although I don’t think I can call him my dad any more. Last night he came into my room and woke me up. He was naked, and his cock was erect. He said he was going to make me., he wanted me to take….., his…. Oh, I can hardly bear to tell you. He said he was going to put his….., in ….. Oh, God, I was terrified. I said I would call out to you. He said to go ahead, but it wouldn’t do any good, because he had out enough of something in your drink to make you sleep all night and all day today, too.”
“Thank God I poured most of that drink out,” said Hank.
“Hank, we’ve got to get out of here! He said when he came home tonight he was going to bring someone who would take care of you, and then he and this other person were going to take me somewhere where bad boys like me would learn to take orders. I’m so scared! What are we going to do?” Dan was almost hysterical by now.
In that moment, Hank matured quickly. “First of all, get yourself cleaned up. I am going to send a message.”
Hank thought, and then went to his room, opened the window, and whistled for Jet Wing, his peregrine falcon. Grabbing a pencil and paper, he wrote a note, and fastened it to Jet Wing’s claws. “Go to The Haven, NOW, Jet Wing,” said Hank.
Gong back into Dan’s room, he found Dan had washed and dressed himself. “Dan, put a few clothes into a suitcase and come down to the dining room. Hurry.”
Hank also packed a few clothes into a suitcase, and was thankful his school clothes and equipment had been shipped to Fogmarts already. He took his suitcase down to the dining room. Dan was already there.
“How are we going to get out of here?” Dan asked.
Before Hank could answer there was a flap of wings and Jet Wing flew into the room, with a note in its claws. Hank snatched the paper and read “Hank, you and your cousin Dan must come to The Haven immediately. Use the Chimney Sweep spell. But this is most important, do not wear any clothes or bring anything from your house. If my suspicions are correct, your Uncle Herman is in league with a wicked wizard who can track you by the scent of the clothes you wear. (Signed) George Cox.”
“Quick Dan, get those clothes off,” said Hank as he too quickly took off his clothes.
The two boys stripped off their clothes and stood looking at each other.
“Where are we going, Hank?” asked Dan.
“This note is from Mr. Cox, my friend Rod’s Dad. He works for the Ministry of Enchantment. In the Search and Rescue Department. He and his wife have a Safe House where kids who have been abused can take shelter. It is an enchanted house, and as long as we don’t take anything out of this house that can be tracked, we will be safe. Now take my hand.”
Just then Dan looked out of the window. “Hank, my Dad is coming down the street, and he’s got someone with him, someone wearing a cloak and a hood. Hurry, we’ve got to go!”
Hank and Dan stood in front of the fireplace, and Hank recited “Chim-chimery, chim-chimery-chim-chim cheroo, Fireplace, take us where we tell you to. To The Haven we would go, so take us quick, please don’t be slow!”
Just as the boys heard the key turning in the front door, they stepped into the fireplace and vanished.
To be continued.
