Tickie was last night charged with indecent exposure after security cameras caught him frolicking naked in the car wash of his local Exxon garage.  67-year-old Tickie was spotted stripping on the forecourt at around 7 p.m. last night before sneaking into the car wash halfway through the wash and foam cycle.  His impromptu soaping was only brought to a halt when garage owners, Jonathan and Gerry, entered the car wash half an hour later to add more soapsuds.

The unsuspecting owners were shocked to find Tickie completely naked, using a chamois to wash his nether regions.  “I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said Jonathan, who, with his other half, has owned the garage in Lake Havasu City, California, for the best part of 20 years.  “I’ve seen a lot of things in our time in the garage business, but this really was something else.  I just don’t know what came over him.  One minute he was buying some screenwash from the shop – the next, he was rubbing himself down in the car wash!”  “I don’t think he’d been drinking and, as there was no-one else around, I can’t see how he was doing it for a bet.  Maybe he just felt dirty and really needed a wash.”  “I don’t think I’ll forget it, the image of him continues to haunt me today – perhaps he had a hot date with a gorgeous hunk.”

Tickie continues to protest his innocence despite being arrested after the police were called.

He admits to taking his clothes off and also confesses to a struggle with Gerry, but claims there were mitigating factors behind his actions.  “I just needed a shower,” said Tickie.  “There was nobody watching and I really didn’t think there would be a problem.  It wouldn’t have been if it wasn’t for the owner.  He came storming in shouting ‘Oh, my God;  I need to find the know’.  I thought he was being extremely rude so I went to knock him out.  It turns out he was talking about the knob to turn off the water, not mine.  It was an easy mistake to make.”

Nevertheless,  Tickie is likely to receive a substantial fine when he appears in court this morning, despite this being his first offense.  “He’s never done something like this before,” confirmed his best friend, Jonathan.  “Normally he’s desperate to keep his jockstrap on, actually, he led.”  Tickie was expected to receive a fine, rather than a custodial sentence due to the limited size of the evidence against him.
