Chapter 8
The time flew by quickly for everyone, and soon the boys would be ready for their solo flight tests. By now Kevin and Jerry had both become fine pilots and were constantly in demand for freelance flights, which suited them just fine as they were able to travel back and forth together as pilot and co-pilot. They of course were both fully qualified and took turns depending on how they felt on any given flight.
They still spent a lot of time at the lodge, taking care of things that needed handling by them, personally. Joel and Aaron had given Kevin and Jerry more and more responsibilities regarding the policy decisions necessary to keep the lodge improving. Of course Jerry had worked in the hotel industry before, so he had a lot of experience to fall back on. Kevin was no slouch either and he took his work very seriously. Together with Joel and Aaron, they made a wonderful management team.
Colt and Matt were very proud of the entire staff at the lodge whom they now thought of as being part of the family, and they were ecstatic at how well the lodge was doing. The lodge had almost tripled their average number of guests per week, since Kevin and Jerry had joined the company.
With their connections to the corporate world, tentative as they might be, they managed to entice a significant number of highly placed executives and their friends to sample the offerings at the lodge, and word of mouth being the best kind of advertising, it had done its work very well. It was fast becoming a mecca where gay executives were able to relax and be themselves.
Colt, Matt, Joel and Aaron made the decision to provide, at no extra charge, an ample supply of condoms in every room in the place. The Lodge was beginning to get a reputation as a safe place to meet people and have a wonderful time, and everyone took that idea very seriously.
I don't think anyone but James and I knew for sure, just how safe it was for people to have sexual relations there, although, had anyone cared to take notice, it turned out that not one person who ever had a sexual encounter there got infected by any sexually transmitted disease. James and I screened the patrons very carefully in that regard, and we deflected any transmission of STD's from one person to another. We also helped anyone that was infected with any disease to decide to go get treatment. If they were already infected, we planted the idea in their minds that they needed to be extremely careful as to how to have safe sex. We began to notice the people that arrived at the lodge were beginning to take our message to heart and were continuing the practice when ever they had sex with someone the didn't already know, even when they did so somewhere else. Needless to say, we were very happy about that.
The Two ranches were flourishing as well, The Long Rod had become one of the finest Cattle Ranches in the country and the moral there was extremely high. With Johnny's help, all the hands that worked there, were good people who really loved the ranch, and wanted it to succeed. They were good to the animals and to the people that they dealt with.
Of course, everyone at the Lazy L took their work very seriously as well, and It was certainly the finest Horse Ranch in the country, if not the entire world. People came from all over the world to learn first hand the best way to take care of horses. The people that came there to buy horses were screened by Colt and Matt, and by Star, before they were allowed to even ride one of the horses. If Star didn't approve of a person, they were politely informed that there were no available horses for sale that day.
All sale contracts were written in such a way as to give Colt and Matt the option of buying back at the current value, any horse that didn't want to remain at the new owner's place.
There were always periodic follow up inspections, and Colt and Matt would pay surprise visits to the ranches of the buyers. They would discretely question the horses directly to find out how they were being treated, and if the horse was not happy there, he or she would be immediately removed back to the Lazy L. At that point, the person who did not treat the horse properly would have his name added to the list of people that were not allowed to purchase from the Lazy L. ever again. Luckily that clause was seldom required, as horses are very good judges of character. Star could pick out the good from the bad almost instantly, and almost always, if a horse was unhappy after a sale, it was a hired hand at the new ranch that caused trouble for the horse. Of course, that was taken into account when the contract was invoked, and if the situation was resolved, namely by firing the offending ranch hand, and if the horse was willing to stay there once the hand was gone, then the owner could continue doing business with The Lazy L.
The boys took their schooling very seriously and had very little trouble other than missing their dads and the rest of the family. Luckily, visits both directions were common place. Colt and Matt were constantly making appearances to help with the flying club and to get the new pilots trained properly. It was amazing how many of the kids were interested in flying. The club prospered and grew. Before the second year of High School for the boys, there were twenty five members of the club who had become certified pilots. The club membership was set up that any member could continue in the club even after graduation and was expected to contribute to the ongoing existence of the club and the school. He or she could contribute their time or they could contribute money to help defray expenses for those that needed help.
All three brothers remain very close, and as they grew older, they explored their bodies together and had many wonderful experiences. Mark and Luke knew that they would always be together as a couple. They loved each other very deeply and the older they got the more they knew that they were going to be together as a couple for the rest of their lives. Johnny still enjoyed having fun with his brothers, and he loved them very much, but he was beginning to realize that there were two kinds of people in the world and some of them had attributes that boys didn't have. There was one girl in particular that Johnny was very fond of. Her name was Grace Little Feather. She was a very good pilot, and in fact she had once beaten Johnny in a race. They were getting very close and they were spending more and more time together.
Grace and the boys were sitting in the boys' room one evening discussing what they were going to do the following summer, when school was out. They were all in their junior year and the next year would be their last. They all planned to continue their educations after high school, and they knew that they all wanted to go to the same college. Johnny and Grace had neither one dated anyone else. They realized that they were falling in love, and they were going to be faithful to each other. Luke and Mark had made the same commitment to each other, and had no desire to play around with anyone else, except of course, Johnny. Johnny was having a little bit of difficulty with the situation though, because he really loved Grace and he wasn't sure if he would be cheating on her if he did stuff with his brothers.
"Grace, I need to ask you something, and I want Mark and Luke to hear this too, because your answer will make a difference in what we will be doing from now on. I love both my brothers very much and I know they love me too. We have been messing around together for a long time now, and it is wonderful to share their love, but I need to know if it will be a problem between you and me, if I continue to make love with them. Since you and I have decided that we will be boyfriend and girlfriend, I think it is only right that we discuss just what is okay for us to do."
"Johnny, I really do love you, and I am sure that you love me too. I know the dangers of boys and girls having sex together, and I want to wait till we are together forever, before we have sex together. I have messed around with my sister, and I was going to ask you a similar question about my relationship with her. As far as I am concerned, as long as you love your brothers, and they love you, I don't have any problems with you enjoying sharing your bodies together, as long as you don't mind my sharing my body with Alicia." Grace answered, and hugged Johnny tightly as they kissed deeply till they had to come up for breath.
"I love you so much," they chorused, and giggles broke out all around.
"You two really look good together." Mark giggled.
"Well, so do you guys." Johnny replied.
They all joined in a huge group hug, and they all gave each other gentle kisses.
From then on, Grace spent a lot more time with all three boys and they all became a lot closer. In the next few weeks, Grace started accompanying the boys to the ranch on weekends and holidays.
The first time Grace entered the house, Johnny made the introductions. Colt made a big fuss over Grace and gave her a warm hug, then Matt hugged her. Mike, Andrew, Earl and Jack also hugged her, and Julie came up to her and gave her a big hug and a gentle kiss on the cheek. "Grace, It's really nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too. Johnny is always telling me how great you all are. Can I call you Grandma Julie? He says you are the best grandma in the world."
"Well, Johnny is a really good grandson, too. Of course you can call me Grandma Julie. Everyone calls me that. Come with me, and I'll show you what we do in the kitchen." Julie put her arm around Grace's shoulder and they walked into the kitchen, leaving the guys standing there, wondering what was going on.
Julie and Jo gave Grace the royal tour of the facilities, and Grace was really impressed. "I've never seen anything like this kitchen. It is fantastic." Grace gushed.
"When I was about ten, my mom got me interested in baking. I got one of those stupid Easy bake things for Christmas and made cakes and stuff, but I wanted to use the real oven and Mom was afraid I would burn myself. I finally convinced her to let me try, and I made a real cake in the big oven. Everyone liked it, and I got to bake stuff for everyone's birthday and stuff from then on, till I got more interested in Airplanes, than ovens." Grace giggled. "Don't get me wrong, I still like to cook, but it is just for the fun of it. I don't want to be stuck in the kitchen every day. No offense, but I want to be a pilot."
Julie reached out and gave Grace a big hug. "Honey, I won't take any offense, Everyone has their own preferences in what they want to do in their lives. You should do what your heart tells you, and if you want to do some cooking now and then, you can feel free to do it, but you certainly don't have to do anything you don't want to. I can see from the way Johnny looks at you, that you are the one he really wants to spend his life with. Believe me, he will be there for you, no matter what."
The ladies all headed back into the living room and Grace almost ran to Johnny. "I love you, Johnny. Julie and Jo have been really nice to me, and everyone has made me feel really comfortable here. You are right, Julie is really cool. She reminds me of my Gran."
"Yeah, She always seems to know what we are thinking and she knows just what to say to make things alright. It's funny, but I think she is everybody's Grandma." Johnny grinned.
Julie and Jo had quietly made their way back to the kitchen and had prepared a nice tray of cookies and a pot of hot chocolate for everyone and brought it to the dining room.
"Come on everybody, There are cookies here, and hot drinks." Julie called from the dining room doorway.
They all helped themselves to the treats. It was getting late and Grace was beginning to yawn. Julie smiled and said, "Grace, I think you might be tired, You can stay here in the guest room, if you like, or you can come over with Jo and me and stay the night. We have a lovely guest room over there and if you want, we can spend some time together getting to know each other a bit better. It's up to you, Dear."
Grace looked at Johnny, and their eyes met. "Grace, honey, I think it would be cool if you and Grandma Julie and Jo got to know each other better. Go ahead and go over there. We'll be okay, and you can have some girlie time together. I know you will have fun."
Grace and Johnny hugged each other and then Grace went with Julie and Jo and the guys all headed to bed.
James and I gave everyone extra energy and love, and there was a lot of interesting activity occurring in various rooms as the night progressed. Julie and Jo showed Grace their house and they all had a good time talking. Julie showed Grace the pictures she had taken of the family over the years, as they sat around and enjoyed each other's company, until Grace actually nodded off a couple of times and they all decided it was time to get some sleep. It must have been after one in the morning before they were all asleep.
Mark, Luke and Johnny managed to find some other things to occupy their time besides talking, although there were some words said, they were not as easily understood as they might have been, because most of the time, people's mouths were full.
None of the guys got to sleep much earlier than three in the morning, but James and I made sure they were well rested when morning arrived and it was time to get up.
To Be Continued...
Author's note:
Once again, I find myself needing to apologize for taking so darn long to get this chapter out. I am really sorry about that. I won't go into the details except to say that as I was writing this chapter, I had a crash of the computer, and when I went to recover the document, it seems that Open Office couldn't recover it, so I had to start all over again. I think I got most of the points that were in the original chapter, but if I missed any, I will most likely be able to tackle them in the next chapter. I think I will have it in a couple of weeks for you, since I have a pretty good idea of where it is going to go.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas or what ever holiday you celebrate, and I hope everyone has a wonderful new year as well. I will see you all next time and again, I want to thank Tickie for allowing me to write this part of the story. I really feel like I know the people in this story and they are now part of my family. I love them all. I hope you do too.
Darryl AKA The Radio Rancher
Tickie's note:
Another great chapter Darryl, need to get back in the swing of things again, I know the holidays got to all of us. Nice touch having Johnny loving his brothers well enough to ask his girlfriend for permission to keep loving them. Wonder if there will be a part V to this story, I can see it in the works. I will continue it when part IV ends. Keep up the great story my dear friend.
