Chapter 20

I

I awoke when I felt something lightly glazing my eyes. Then I felt it on my lips and when I opened my eyes, I saw Sean as he bent down to kiss my lips again. He was smiling that wonderful smile of his.

"Hi, sleepy head. I didn't mean to wake you, Ry. I just wanted to kiss you gently. You are so beautiful, Hon. Even with your hair all messed up, with a rough beard, and morning breath, I want you," said Sean with a little giggle. I stretched and pulled Sean to me. I kissed him passionately, and stroked his back and his naked ass. He sighed.

"What time is it, Lover?" I asked Sean.

"Let me see. Oh, yeah, it's time for you to fuck me, Lover. I need to get energized for the day ahead. So, do you stuff, stud," said my horny Sean.

"Come on, Sean, what time is it? By the clock, not by the cock!" I said with a laugh.

"It's 7:30 by clock, and desire for a fuck by cock." said a laughing Sean.

"Really, well this hot stud wants clock time. Tonight we will have cock time, okay? And tomorrow night, all night will be cock time, and Saturday and Sunday and Monday and Tuesday we will keep time with your cock, Sean. But for most of today, we need to keep time with the clock.

Okay, Lover? It's difficult for me not to take you, Baby, but I want to keep storing up all my love and sexual energy for our hornymoon. Now get that beautiful ass out of bed and into the shower. I will join you there in a couple of minutes, just want to put some coffee on to brew," I told Sean.

"Okay, okay, I get the message. I like the arrangement on telling time, though. Just don't try to weasel out of it when your cock and ass are bruised and tired. If my cock clock says it's time to play, you better be ready to hit homeruns every time," warned Sean as he jumped out of bed and headed to the bathroom and shower.

I rolled out of bed and padded my way to the kitchen where I quickly made a pot of coffee and turned on the machine so that it could brew. If Sean only knew that he would only have to kiss me one more time, or grope my crotch, and I would have been his right then and there; but luckily, I was able to win that one little battle. I knew that the hornymoon would probably leave me a beaten man.

Sean was standing in the shower facing the back, his head under the stream of water. I noticed he had an erection. Quietly I opened the shower and got in. I moved up to Sean's back and reached out and hugged him. My hard cock was immediately in his ass crack. I rubbed it up and down his crack. Reaching behind himself, he grabbed my cock, squeezed it, and stroked it a couple of times. Then he turned abruptly and took me in his arms. We kissed with passion.

"We are playing by your clock today, Ryan Taylor, so no fooling around in the shower. Just wash our dirty bodies. We can kiss; but no feeling up, no rubbing cock against body, none of those sexy things. When we play by my rules on our hornymoon, anything goes. So, Ry wash your ass, and get moving," he said as we both broke into laughter.

"You, my young friend, are going to pay for this insubordination!" I growled.

"I'm hoping; and more than just once, more than twice, more than 20 times. That is, if the old guy can get it up and keep it up," he said with a grin.

We were drying ourselves, and when he bent over and I saw his inviting ass, I almost threw out my rules for the day, but I restrained myself.

"Look, my young lover, the only one who will have a cock like a piece of wilted lettuce at the end of the day, will be you. I will be erect and ready to do battle with you again. But with a tired, limp cock, and an ass opening the size of the Grand Canyon, you will be the only one who can't get it up and keep it up. Just you wait and see."

"Sure, sure, wanna bet on that?" asked Sean who was laughing so hard he was having difficulty getting his underwear on.

"You bet your ass!" I said. "I get your ass if I win; and I get your ass if you win," I answered and now I was laughing almost out of control.

"Kiss me, and let's stop this stuff before we are on the floor doing a naughty," said Sean.

We quieted down and finished dressing. We didn't put on our blazers or neckties, but other than that, we were dressed for the day. Sean looked even sexier when he was dressed as he was today. It left so much to the imagination; the fact was, however, that he was even more beautiful naked than you could imagine. We had a quick breakfast, did up the dishes, and left the kitchen in tip-top condition.

Sean left me alone until we went back into the bedroom to finish packing. He came to me and asked

"Please hold me for a minute or two, while I get it all together. I have to start now to steel myself from my emotions today. I need your strength, Ry, like I needed it in the hospital. You will probably have to support me later today. I am uneasy, not scared, about what I may find out from the attorney. I guess I am a wimp," Sean said quietly and earnestly.

"Sean, I will hug you here, or in the attorney's office, or any place you need my strength and love. And if you lose your emotional control and break down, don't worry. I will love you just as much, even more probably, because you are not afraid to show your emotions. I wish I could tell you what to expect today, but Sean, I really cannot. We will have to wait and see together. But before that we have a lovely drive, we can stop and have a pleasant lunch, then we will see the attorney. After that, we have the rest of the day and evening to ourselves. Let's enjoy as much as we can of this day we have together. The day is ours, just ours," I told him.

"Thanks, Ry, you always know how to make me feel better. No wonder I love you so much, Hon. Thanks," said an appreciative Sean.

We finished our packing in the quiet of each other's reverie. I knew that no matter what I had said, no matter how much sense it made, no matter how much we both believed it, our minds were on the appointment and the 20-year-old secret. I would not bring it up again. I decided that only Sean had the right to discuss it if he chose. We got our luggage, put it outside the door, checked the lighting timers, set the alarm, and closed and locked the door to our home. I hugged Sean for good measure before we were in the car. We each took some of the luggage and our hanging clothes and went to the car. We packed the car in silence, occasionally touching each other as we moved about. I smiled at Sean, and he returned my smile with one of his super sexy smiles. I wanted to kiss him, so I did. He was pleased. I asked him if he wanted to drive, but he didn't. We got belted into our seats and started off to find out Sean's destiny.

********

The ride was pleasant and we stopped a couple of times to view the scenery and to use the facilities. Sean was exceptionally quiet. At one point I put in the tape of his piano playing. His face lit up and he smiled a great smile at me. I wanted to grab him right there, but I couldn't. As the Chopin music played, Sean disappeared into his private musical state of being. When I would glance at him, he would be staring ahead, his face showing no emotion. I did notice that his fingers were moving as if he were playing the piano himself.

I marveled again at his talent; another reason to love him so much. I thought again about the time when he might wish to go to a music school of some renown a distance from me, and I would shake with horror of that happening. But I also knew that it was something that I would want him to do; to develop that wonderful talent, to become all that he could and wanted to be. I had taken a leisurely back road route to Brattleboro from State and before we knew it lunch time had arrived.

"Sean, I really hate to interrupt your thoughts, but are you hungry? It's lunch time and you should eat something before you meet with the attorney."

"It's okay, Ry. I didn't want to interrupt you either. I saw that you were deep in thought, too. The quiet has given me some time to think through a lot of things. Yeah, I am hungry. Let's find a place and stop for lunch," said Sean.

"Watch for signs and stuff so we can find a place to eat. I want a nice place where we can have some privacy. We're on Route 5 now, so there should be some places to eat," I responded.

We rode along in a continuing silence. There were a number of signs, but we hadn't seen one that advertised a restaurant. I was getting itchy as I wanted to stop and have a chance to talk with Sean. I knew he needed reassurance, and driving was not the easiest way to comfort him.

I had been thinking, too, what if this secret somehow would take him away from me. I was very concerned about that. I never indicated to Sean my concern of that, but I did fret over it. The silence in the car gave me a time to judge my reaction to anything that meant that Sean and I could not be together. It would kill me, I knew that. I also suspected that Sean would rather die than leave me, but I could not know all that would be happening in the future. I surmised that was a good thing, to know too much of the future would be devastating. My thoughts were interrupted by Sean's voice.

"There's a sign for Marie's Fine Food at the next exit. Want to try that?" Sean asked.

"Sure, let's get something to eat, Baby. I'm hungry, so I know that you must be starved," I told Sean.

We took the next exit, and quickly found Marie's. It was in a lovely old house and a number of cars were there, so we assumed the food was good. I parked the car and reached out and took Sean's hand in mine. I lifted it to my lips and kissed it gently.

"Try to relax, Baby, I am here with you. We will make it through all of this. Just trust me, please," I pleaded.

"I do trust you, Ry, I trust you with my life. I will try to relax."

I leaned across the seat and gave Sean a nice kiss. He returned it with gentleness and love. I hoped in my most inner being that he would weather the afternoon without damage to his emotions.

"Thanks for the kiss, Ry. That settled me down a lot."

We got out of the car and headed to the entrance to the restaurant. The house had a number of dining rooms in what had been various rooms of the house. A lovely older lady greeted us. I asked her if we could have a very private table as we had some important matters to discuss. She smiled broadly at us and took us into a small room with only three tables; all were empty.

"I will not seat anyone else here unless it is absolutely necessary," she told us. I thanked her and we sat.

"Nice in here isn't it. Do you mind not being in one of the larger rooms with other people? I didn't ask you, Sean, I'm sorry. Who's the craphead now?" I smiled at him.

"No, this is perfect, Hon. I like being just with you. I have always wanted just you, no one else. I will never change that, believe me, Ry," said a somber Sean.

"If I give you one of our special kisses after the wait person takes our order, will you smile for me, Baby?" I asked.

"To be sure," said Sean.

Amber, our waitress, was a smiling, happy, middle-aged lady. She was gracious and helpful with the menu offerings. We both selected the special-of-the-day which was a Reuben made with their homemade rye bread, special Pastrami, homemade dressing and, most interesting of all, homemade sauerkraut. Sean decided he would drink cola while I opted for hot tea.

Amber told us it would be a few minutes before any food was ready, and we said that we wanted our drinks with the lunch. I felt that we were alone for a bit. I leaned across to Sean, took him in my arms and gave him one of our special kisses. His hand wandered to my crotch where his stroking increased the hardness of my cock. We broke from our kiss, and I stroked his crotch where his erection was full and hard. He was smiling.

"That always makes me smile, Lover. Thanks." he told me.

"We are both sluts aren't we; hard as two dogs chasing a bitch in heat. What do you make of it?"

"We love each other," said Sean as Amber came into the room with our lunch. He was smiling broadly.

"What a handsome young man and such a lovely smile," said a completely enthralled Amber to Sean.

"And you, too, Sir; you are a handsome man," she said to me. "Enjoy your lunch. I'll check later to see if you need anything else; and don't forget dessert. Marie's famous for her desserts."

"There you go, Studly, she thinks you are a handsome man. Don't I keep telling you that, Hon? Not only handsome, but so sexy it drives me crazy," Sean said.

"Sure, sure, but who did she tell first that he was handsome and had a lovely smile. You, Baby, and she's right. She didn't say you were sexy, but are you ever sexy. You take my breath away not to mention what you do to my reproductive apparatus," I snickered.

Sean was laughing loudly and almost choked on his bite of the sandwich. "Your reproductive apparatus! You mean your (and now he whispered) cock?" he said.

That was my Sean, full of life, love and humor. I was laughing, too and we were both fairly loud. Amber came into the room, looked at the two of us with a silly grin on her face and started to laugh, too.

"Don't know what was so funny, but I certainly like what it does for both of you. You look much better than when you first came in. You look and act joyful, not soulful and unhappy. Hurrah for that! Everything okay?" she asked. "Sean do you want another sandwich and another cola?" I asked Sean. He shook his head yes. "Repeat his order, Amber. He's a growing boy, you know, just turned 20 a few weeks ago," I told her. She smiled and left us alone again.

"This isn't just for your energy this afternoon, you know. I want to keep you strong for what's to come. Who can tell when we start our hornymoon?" I laughed.

"I'll take whatever you have to give, my special lover. And I hope that I can return all the favors. I don't care if I don't sleep, don't eat; I just want to be yours in as many ways and as many times as we can imagine," said a broadly smiling Sean.

"My apparatus is getting stimulated by your hot, sexy promises. We will have a hornymoon neither of us will ever forget. Now, Sean, is there anything you want to discuss about the meeting this afternoon?" I asked.

"There are a couple of things, Ry. First, what do I call this guy? Sir, Attorney Wentworth, Esquire, Mr. Wentworth, or something else?" he asked.

"I would start with Attorney Wentworth; if that doesn't please him, I am sure he will let you know. What else?" I asked.

"I want you with me in the room, but what if he insists that I must be with him alone as per my parents' instructions. What do I do? I want you with me," said Sean and I could see the tension rising in his face.

Amber came into the room with Sean's second sandwich and cola. I thanked her. She looked at Sean and told him she liked him better smiling. She left and Sean waited for my response.

"Let's wait and see what he tells you. If he says you must be alone, tell him we are having a civil union ceremony tomorrow and that you want your future partner to hear everything. If he cannot do that today, when could he see us as a couple? We'll just come back," I told Sean.

Sean stopped eating his sandwich and looked at me. He smiled a small unsure smile and told me, "Ry, I hope to heaven he let's you be with me today, because I don't think I can put this off another day. Do you understand?"

"Of course, I understand. Let's just wait and see. Anything else?" I asked. Sean shook his head `no' as he finished his second Reuben.

Amber was at the door again, asking if we were finished. We were, so she quickly cleared the table and told us she would be back shortly with the dessert menu. I reached under the table and patted Sean's thigh. He sighed and reached for my hand, which he squeezed so hard I almost had to tell him to stop. I looked at him and he smiled, a lovely smile, but it was still obvious to me that he was uneasy. I was just about to say something to Sean, when a group of wait people came into the room, followed by Amber who carried a small birthday cake with one candle. Amber placed the cake in front of Sean and the group started to sing "Happy Birthday" - I joined in and watched my Sean as he blushed, but smiled. He got up from his seat and went to Amber and gave her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. He thanked her for the kindness. The group applauded and I was with them. They left quickly and we were alone again.

"How did you arrange this, Ry? When did you arrange this?" Sean demanded.

"I didn't, Sean, really. Amber did it after I spoke of you just turning 20 a few weeks ago. She's a honey," I said truthfully.

Amber came into the room at that moment. She explained to us that she just had to do something for the young man's birthday. Did we want ice cream with the cake, she asked us. We both asked for vanilla. She left again; I noticed some small tears in Sean's eyes. I said nothing.

"Why is everyone so nice to me, Ry. I'm just an ordinary guy." said Sean.

"Because you are easy to love, Sean. You are easy to love, that's it in a nutshell," I told him.

I lit the single candle on the cake. Amber came in with the ice cream. I introduced us to her.

Amber smiled and said, "Sean, aren't you going to blow out the candle and make a wish? It's important to make a wish, something that's very close to your heart," she told Sean. Sean smiled and blew out the candle. Amber and I applauded. She left us alone again.

"I know I'm not supposed to tell you my wish, but I want to. I wished that I would have you as my partner for many happy years to come. I also wished that this afternoon would turn out to be a happy experience for us and that tomorrow would be joyful for us as well, and all the people we love," said Sean.

"I pray all your wishes are granted, sweet Sean. I want you with me until the day I die. Make no mistakes about that."

We ate our cake and ice cream in relative silence. We paid our bill and left Amber a fine gratuity. As we were leaving, Amber hurried to us and gave us both warm hugs. We thanked her for her kindness and she asked us to please dine at Marie's again. We assured her we would.

Our drive to Brattleboro took us about an additional hour. We found a parking place on the main street, pumped some coins into the meter, and started looking for Wentworth's office. We were not having much luck. Finally, in desperation, I stopped a kindly looking lady and asked her if she could direct us there.

"Certainly, hard to find, you know, upstairs, little sign, over the jewelry store across the street, see 'Emerson's', best jewelry place in town, oh, I guess it's the only one. Good luck with Wentworth."

We crossed the street and walked down to 'Emerson's'. We stopped for just a moment to window shop, but standing close to Sean, I could feel the tension in his body. We found the sign for Attorney Wentworth, second floor, Room 205. We entered the vestibule of the stairway. When the outside door closed, I quickly took Sean into my arms and gave him a long passionate kiss. I could feel his body almost shaking.

"I'm with you, Sean. Your parents loved you. Be at peace with them, Baby. Be at peace."

We started up the stairs to Wentworths's office to discover Sean's destiny. I began to ponder the idea that it might also be my destiny. It was amazing that an attorney should hold the key to our future.

But he did.

II

We climbed the stairs to Attorney Wentworth's office and as we neared the second floor, there was an unmistakable odor that said old and a little musty. Sean put his arm around my waist and pulled me toward himself. I clasped him to me. He smiled a softly hopeful smile at me and said,

"I guess, Ry, that there is no escaping the truth of the secret that has been kept for 20 years. I am ready for whatever it may be, but only if you are at my side. Please stay with me."

"Of course I will stay with you, Sean. Be yourself and you will win all these folks over," I said as we stopped in front of Room 205.

I gave Sean a quick kiss, which he returned. He reached forward and opened the door. We entered the outer office, perhaps a better word would be reception area. It was a strikingly lovely room with very high ceilings and subtle yellow walls. The furniture had been carefully selected to suggest taste, but not overbearing wealth. Wentworth's secretary, a Miss Blately, looked up from her desk as we entered. Sean went forward and said to her

"I am Sean Kelly; I have an appointment with Attorney Wentworth this afternoon."

"Oh yes, came her crisp, professional reply. Please be seated and I will tell Attorney Wentworth that you are here. And you, Sir, do you have business with Attorney Wentworth, I didn't get your name.

"I am Ryan Taylor, professor of English literature at State and I am here with Sean. He wishes me to be with him when he meets with Attorney Wentworth," I told her respectfully.

"Oh, Sir, I'm afraid that's not possible. This meeting is between Attorney Wentworth and Sean. You are not included," she said in an officious manner.

Sean interrupted, "He is with me and he will see the attorney with me. We will let Attorney Wentworth decide whether he can stay with me or not. I am sorry, Ma'am, but you are not the attorney, nor are you my keeper. Please tell the attorney that we will both see him. Thank you."

With a startled and defiant look on her face, she told Sean, "Very well, young man, but I know he will not see you with anyone else." She rang the inner office and had a short, but very quietly whispered conversation.

"He will see you both now."

We walked to the door of his inner office and knocked. "Come in, come in," came the invitation from a bass-voiced man. We entered the office and were in awe of the rich mahogany paneled walls, the shelves filled with law books, the rich Oriental rugs, the large windows beautifully draped in heavy velvet drapes. The fireplace burned low. Wentworth, a huge man, in his late 70's or early 80's got up from his leather chair, and greeted us.

"You must be Sean," he said as he shook Sean's hand. "It is a real pleasure to meet you after all these years. And who is your friend?"

"He is my partner; tomorrow we will have a civil union ceremony performed and we will be legal in this state. I want him here with me today. I will have it no other way. Please honor this request, otherwise we will leave and have another appointment scheduled," said Sean in a strong, certain voice. I was so proud of him. He was a man in every way.

Wentworth, looking a little surprised by Sean's firm comment, said simply, "Please sit down. I am sure we can work this all out. Both of you sit down."

He wandered back to his chair and filled its large size with his even more ample person. We were sitting waiting for his next remark.

"The only reason I have a little difficulty with this is that your parents had wanted you to hear this alone. I understand why you want your partner with you. If it's going to be official tomorrow anyway, I will honor your request. Now, may I have your partner's name, please?"

"Thank you so much, Attorney Wentworth. His name is Ryan Taylor. He is a professor of English literature at State and he is my partner and lover. Whatever I have to hear, I want him to hear it, too."

"Nice to meet you, Professor Taylor. Now, Sean, what I am about to talk to you about was done 23 years ago. You were not even born when this idea was started by your father and mother. When you were born three years later, they made some significant changes. I am instructed by them that before I tell you anything more, I am to read to you a letter they wrote together for you. If you are ready to hear this, I will begin."

"I am ready, Sir, but I will probably find this very emotional. I am not sure how I will react," said Sean.

"Don't worry about that. I can quite understand. If you show emotion, I will wait for you to compose yourself. Ryan, feel free to help Sean through the reading of this letter. Okay, Sean, here is the letter.

"Our Dearest Sean,

If you ever hear this letter, it will mean that we have gone from this life to a better one with our Creator. We both love you very much; we love you more than any words can tell you. You were our life, our joy, our reason for living. We are sad that we are not with you in your twenty-first year.

We regret that you will have had to spend some time with your Uncle Jesse. He is a hard man, has little sympathy for most, and so we anticipate some difficult years with him. Our only hope is that in some way it makes you a better person. It is our hope that Aunt Emily is in some small measure a balance to Jesse. We wish that we had been with you to comfort you in moments of despair and unhappiness, but that will not have been the case.

We wanted you to wait until your twenty-first year to hear the details of this matter. Attorney Wentworth is an old and dear friend of ours. We know that he will do all those things that we have asked of him, even if he is not entirely in agreement with us.

Our legacy to you is love. We want you to find someone to love as we have loved each other and you. Hunt, explore and find that particular person."

It was here that Sean broke into tears. I hugged him to me and let him cry it out. Wentworth had tears in his eyes and he waited patiently for Sean to collect himself. Sean finally regained his composure, and Wentworth continued

"If God is good to you, Sean, our beloved son, you will find that special person who will bring happiness, caring and love into your life. We pray that will happen for you, because if it does, everything else in life is possible.

Son, we hope that you keep that wonderful heartwarming smile and that you use it in your life to brighten the lives of others.

Both of us now hug you tightly and kiss you lightly and leave you with this precious thought: Sean, you were loved so fully, so completely, that we will keep your memory forever. Please, dear, dear son, keep our memory close to your heart.

With our total love, Mom and Dad"

Sean had collapsed into total sobbing. Wentworth kept drying his eyes and tears rolled down my face.

"I will leave you two for a few minutes. Comfort him, Ryan. When he is ready to proceed, just come out and tell me."

Wentworth left. I started to kiss Sean and to whisper to him how wonderful his parents must have been to leave such a beautiful message for him. This, unfortunately wasn't the best thing to tell him as he just sobbed more and without control. I hugged him to me as tightly as I could and continued to kiss him. I sought his mouth, tear stained and the top lip red from his biting it to keep control. I kissed him as strongly and deeply as I could, and I didn't stop until I heard his sobs diminish somewhat.

I moved a little away from him. He looked at me through tear-stained eyes and tried to smile for me. Between sobs he said, "Oh, Ryan, if they had only known you. If they had known that I found that special person who loves me, and whom I love, they would be so happy. I love you, Ry. Kiss me again, please?"

I kissed him again. He got some tissues from the table and blew his nose a couple of times and dried his eyes. I was drying my eyes, too. He stood up, and faced me. I got up and looked into his beautiful eyes.

"If they could have seen what a beautiful, talented and intelligent young man you have matured into, Sean, they would be so proud. You are a man; let no one tell you otherwise. Are you ready to go on?"

He shook his head 'yes', pulled me to him and gave me one of our special kisses. We finished, and I went to the door and told Wentworth to please return and go on with the proceedings. Wentworth came back into the room and sat at his desk.

"You both had better sit down," Wentworth cautioned. I wondered what in the world was coming.

"Twenty-three years ago your grandmother, on your mother's side, died and left her an inheritance of $175,000.00. With the taxes paid, she was left with $153,000.00. She paid for their home which at the time cost her an additional $45,000.00 leaving her with the sum of $108,000.00. Your parents came to me and told me that they desired to set up some sort of Trust for their children. You, Sean, are their only child, but they had intended to have other children which unfortunately never happened.

"We spent a great deal of time working on the Trust, which now goes to you as the only heir. All taxes were paid on earnings over the years. Your father was an intelligent man. He made provisions in the trust to transfer funds to bonds when the market fell a certain amount and to put it back in the market when things were better. Because he had insisted on that, even though some financial experts had warned him not to do so, the fund grew through the years. You, Sean, are fortunate because of the foresight of your parents. Now what I am about to tell you will take some time to sink in, but it is true and you will have to deal with it. As you are now twenty, some assets of the fund go directly to you."

"Could we stop for just a second or two, please, Attorney Wentworth? I need to let some of this sink into my brain," asked Sean.

"Sure, let's take a 10-minute break. I'll leave you two here to talk. Let me know when you are ready to go again," said Wentworth as he left the office.

I looked at Sean, who seemed totally disconnected from the whole proceedings.

"You okay, Sean? That was a great deal to keep track of and in some way, difficult to understand." I said.

"No, I think I know what he said. My parents set up some kind of fund for their children when my Mom inherited some money. They never had any other children so now I am the only one who can inherit the fund. But I don't know what that means, Ry? Help me understand this Ry. I don't want anything because I have you. I am happy the way I am," Sean said.

"Sean, I really don't know what it all means. You apparently are going to inherit some money. How much, I couldn't tell you. Obviously your parents were wise people and wanted to be sure you were taken care of when you were a young man. Their only oversight was that you would not be taken care of in the manner they expected your Uncle Jesse to care for you. I am sure they never imagined you would be abused, or that you would want for clothes or spending money or college money. We will have to wait and hear what else Attorney Wentworth has to tell us. You want me to call him in, Sean?" I asked.

"Yes, I want to get this over. I have to know what is in store for me. Call him in, Ry," said a slightly confused and frustrated Sean. I called Wentworth back into his office.

"Ok, Sean, here goes: first of all, the home that your parents owned is still in immaculate shape. It has been rented as part of the trust and the money made after upkeep has been invested in the fund. That house has a current market value of $325,000.00; you can have it to live in, or you can leave it as is and it will be leased and the income, after expenses, will be invested in the fund.

"Next, there is the cabin on Lake Belmont. It has been kept in tip-top shape through the years. It has been leased from time to time, but your Dad was pretty adamant that it be kept as much as possible as it was. Do you remember anything about the cabin, Sean?" asked Wentworth.

"Just a little. I remember going out in the rowboat and fishing with my dad. We went swimming and we had wonderful summer fun there, but the details are few. I was only a little kid; the oldest I could have been at the time was six. I just remember lots of happy times. I remember my Mom and Dad best at the cabin because we were together, Dad was working, but Mom was with me all day. It was great," Sean informed us.

"Well as of today, the cabin is yours as is all the land surrounding it and a large strip of waterfront. It was recently evaluated by an appraiser for me so that I could have some numbers for you today. The cabin and land is valued at $795,000.00, the land being the most valuable part."

"Whoa! You mean to tell me that I now own property that is valued at how much?" Sean asked.

"Let me see, Sean. Presently the house and cabin and land are estimated to be worth $1,120,000.00, give or take a few tens of thousands."

"You've got to be kidding, Attorney Wentworth. How could this be true? I mean, how come I never knew anything about it? Cripes, that's so much money," said a bewildered Sean.

"Sean, let him finish this, then you can ask all the questions you want. He still has other things to tell you," I urged Sean.

"Good idea, Ryan. Sean, never in a thousand years did your parents ever expect the fund to grow to the extent it has over the past 23 years. That investment of $108,000.00 has grown to be worth today $8,749,974. and a few cents. I have here a check for you of your first installment as per your father and mother's request. It is for 1/4 of the fund, a rather respectable $2,187,493.50."

Wentworth tried to hand the check to Sean, but he was hiding in my chest, shaking, I thought with disbelief, but I soon heard the sobs. Wentworth just strode out of the room leaving the two of us alone again.

"Oh, Sean, Baby, don't cry. They loved you so much. Look at the legacy they left you, Baby. Just be happy. You need not do anything about it right now. Are you okay, Baby?"

"Yeah, I'm just in a state of disbelief. What will I ever do with all that money? I don't want it, Ry. Can I make him keep it?" asked Sean.

"I don't think so. He has to do what your parents wanted him to do. He can't take it back. Look, Sean, there are many things you can do with the money; charities, music camps for promising kids, equipment for the college. You can travel, see the world, meet new people. I won't stand in your way. You don't need me anymore, Sean. You are able to take care of all your needs," I said.

I was despondent. My destiny had been destroyed.

"You just shut up, Ryan Taylor. I need you, I want you; I don't give a rat's ass about the money. How could you think I would travel without you? Shit, I don't want to go to the grocery store without you. I love you, silly ass. I am marrying you tomorrow and I don't want to hear anymore of that shit. Do you understand me, Ry? You are the most important thing in my life and my parents wanted me to find someone to love and be loved by before they thought of the money. Call him back in, I have some more questions."

"Before I do, Sean, thank you for still wanting me. You know you could have a dozen lovers of every size, shape and nationality. I am humbled by your love. Thank God I met you Sean. Thank God." I opened the door and requested that Wentworth come back into the room.

"I have a couple of questions for you, Sir. What about the remainder of the fund, not that I want any of it right at the moment, but what are the stipulations for that? And can I keep you and the group who have run the fund the same as it has been?" asked a nervous Sean.

"First, about the fund. You are to get 1/4 at age 20, another 1/4 at 22, another 1/4 at 25, and the balance of the fund at 30. Yes, you can keep the same team, except for me. I plan to retire in about six months, but I have a young partner I want to introduce you to whom I recommend you consider for my position. He is trustworthy and honest and he will work diligently for your welfare. By the way, the fund pays all expenses for those of us helping. Before you leave, I will give you a report of how the money was made and how much the expenses were. It's all above board."

"Sir, I really don't know what to say? I mean so much money. Keep the house the way you have. I want the cabin and I intend to keep all the land as it was. Be sure that is done. I don't want the cabin leased or rented again. I do expect that it will be kept in excellent condition, even if that means hiring a caretaker. I want the cabin available anytime I want it. I would like to see it tonight, can you arrange that?" Sean asked.

"Everything you want has been noted and will be attended to. But now, take your check, Sean. Here are the keys to the cabin. Oh, yes, one other thing. The group decided that you should have the right vehicle for Vermont so on our own, not from your inheritance, we purchased you a new Land Rover. Here are the keys to that vehicle. If you would prefer, we can have it delivered to State for you," said Wentworth.

"I will want it for tonight and tomorrow. I will leave it at the West Hill Inn in a few days, but the desk will know about it. You can then have it delivered to State, but not until late next week. Now, Sir, is there anything else we should know about? By the way, would your group be willing to help me manage this money if I ask them?"

"Certainly, on the same basis as we have cared for the fund. Now I would like to have you meet and chat a moment or so with Daniel Hazelton, my associate," he said as he pushed the intercom button and asked his secretary to buzz Dan and tell him he would like to see him in his office.

We waited for Dan, but I was in a state of shock as I am sure Sean was. So much had happened in a few minutes. It would take some time to let it all sink into our brains. There was a knock at the door, and after Wentworth's 'Come in', Dan entered the office.

Dan Hazelton was a strikingly handsome man. He was over six feet tall and ruggedly built. His dark brown eyes sparkled with intensity, and his brown hair was cut short and kept carefully. There was a fastidious manner about him as his clothing was impeccably selected. He was the perfect image of a young man on his way up. He smiled at all of us as he came into Wentworth's office.

"You wanted me, Sir?" he asked.

"Yes, Dan, I want you to meet Sean Kelly whose Dad and Mom were our clients for the past 25 years. We have managed their trust fund. Sean claimed his first installment today. They would like an opportunity to chat with you. I'm sorry, this is Ryan Taylor; he is Sean's partner. In fact they are having a civil ceremony performed tomorrow. This is Dan Hazelton, the partner I mentioned to you.

"Hi, Dan, I'm Sean. Nice to meet you."

"And I am Ryan Taylor. The pleasure is mine." I said.

"It is interesting to finally meet you Sean. I have wondered what you would be like, and so have all the other members of the team working on your trust fund. Even Attorney Wentworth wondered who you would look like. So, Peter, who does he look like?" asked Dan.

"Actually, he doesn't look exactly like either his Mom or Dad. He seems to be a perfect blending of their best qualities. I would say that he turned out to be a handsome and intelligent young man," said Wentworth.

"Handsome, he certainly is; and intelligent, too. If you two don't have plans for this evening, please come to my place for dinner and some conversation. I live in a large house on Elm Street. By the way, if you wish to spend the night, I have six bedrooms so you won't crowd anyone out. I would be happy to entertain you this evening," Dan told us.

"Dan, I'm really sorry, but Ryan and I have plans for this evening and for the next few days. Could you arrange to travel down to State and stay with us? That way we could have ample time to discuss matters. Since we have much to do for our wedding tomorrow, and then we will spend some time alone, it would be helpful if you could do that," said a self-controlled Sean.

"Fine, let's do that, then. Why don't you call me after you two are at home. We can set up a day and I can travel down to speak with you. I assume a weekend would be the best as I know you attend classes, Sean, and Professor Taylor must have teaching to do, also. You can inform me of a good hotel where I can stay while I am discussing matters with you both," Dan said.

"No need of that. You can stay at our place, we have plenty of room and we like company," I said.

"Okay, then it's all set. Thank you, Attorney Wentworth, for all your kindness. It is so gratifying that you all would think to purchase me the Land Rover. I know that Ryan and I will spend many happy hours driving it. And Dan, we will see you later at our home. And thank you, too, Dan. This has been an amazing day. I had some fears about what the day would bring, but I never thought for a second that it would be as it has been. Ryan and I will have much to discuss about the inheritance. My hope is to do good things with it, charity, I guess. I have Ryan, and I don't need much else in my life as he fills my heart with love and caring. Together we will use the funds wisely. Thank you all again. Ry, if you are ready, let's go to the jeweler, and I think with this check in my pocket, the purchase is on me," Sean said lightly. Everyone laughed and Sean and I left the office. The secretary acknowledged us as we left. I couldn't help but smile widely at her.

As soon as the door to 205 closed, Sean was in my arms, kissing me wildly, telling me how much he loved me. I had tears in my eyes, and I hugged him to myself and returned his kiss. When we broke apart, Sean looked at me with shock on his face.

"Ry, what's the matter, Hon? Did I say something stupid? I tried to act mature and educated, but apparently I screwed up. I'm sorry," Sean stammered.

"No, no, no, it's not that, Sean. I almost lost it when you told those two men that you had me in your life and that you didn't need much else because I filled you heart with love and caring. That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me. Sean, you were magnificent in there. I marveled at your composure, your sophistication, your ability to decide immediately on what you wanted to do. Sean, do you know you never had to ask me what I thought? I was so proud of you for that. You did it by yourself. God, Sean, I love you," I murmured.

"Ryan Taylor, if you hadn't held me and loved me, I would never had been able to collect myself during the letter from my folks. How they loved me, Ry. I just collapsed; I couldn't handle it and you simply hugged me and told me everything would be all right. You were there when I needed you, wonderful Ry, my partner, my lover, my husband. Without you, my life would be worthless.

"All the money in the world will never replace your love, your caring. This money doesn't change one single thing in our relationship. I still want to spend the rest of my life loving you, being loved by you. So when I say the vows tomorrow, I will mean every word of them because they come from my heart and my soul. Never doubt me, Ry. Please never doubt me," said Sean as he pulled me to him. I was sighing contentedly because Sean still wanted me.

"Sean, my darling, you are the love of my life. I will never doubt you."

And I never would.
