Chapter 7
The unexpected invitation
I couldn't fall asleep that night. I tossed and turned, sometimes covering myself with the blanket, sometimes uncovering myself, sometimes I was too hot, then again too cold. There was so much going through my head, the pictures in teacher Beck's book, what Helmes had shown me, and above all what he had confided to me on the way home, about himself and Kalle. Did Kalle really stick the dick into Helmes’ butt? I could not believe it! Would I like it if Helmes or Kalle or Nickl or Stani or maybe even home-teacher Beck stuck their dick in my butt hole, screwed me? Or I did one of them? Maybe!
First, I had to try it with Helmes. After all, he offered it. But then I started to have doubts. My dick was bigger than Kalle's, he had said. Would my fat dick even fit into his tight hole? But there was still the matter of the milking grease Kalle would always use to get his dick into Helmes’ hole easier. "Then it really slips in easily! You wouldn’t believe it how easily!" said Helmes.
Shortly before midnight I must have fallen asleep. Because at five in the morning, when the chorus was greeting the May Day at the other side of the river, I had a terrible head ache. I stayed in bed until my little sister tried to get me out at 10 o'clock. I wailed and hid under the blanket, covers up to my head. When my mother rushed in and pulled the covers off me, I wailed, "My head, my head!"
"Come on get up Magnus, it'll be better in a minute!" she tried, "We are supposed to have a nice May outing in the woods." Since she herself suffered from headache attacks, she let herself be convinced by my pitiful whining, "But tomorrow you have to go back to school. I know you're writing a math paper and you have to get an A on that. YOU need the grade to make up for your bad grade in spelling."
I stayed in bed until the afternoon, but then went to the May devotions at five. There I sang along as vigorously as if I had never had a headache. Helmes was sitting in the pew in front of me. I nudged him, "Do you have time later? I'd like to try something." As he cautiously turned his head around I whispered, "I didn't get any milking grease, but hand cream. I bet it smells better." He shook his head, "Too bad, we have company coming. Maybe on Saturday."
After the service it was still too early to go home. Therefore, I dawdled around on the church steps until all the other students had left. Then I strolled to the schoolhouse where my favorite teacher lived. I pushed open the front door and tiptoed up the three flights of stairs to the attic. Light shone through under the door to his study. After knocking, the bed squeaked inside, then a chair fell over and someone cursed softly. Suddenly, Teacher Beck was standing in the open doorway in his underwear. "Did you scare me, Magnus! I was so tired from the trip, wanted to rest and must have fallen asleep smoothly. But what are you doing here so late?"
"This afternoon I wanted to continue reading in the book, but the front door was locked. Now I just wanted to see if you were back yet." "What did you want to read in the book?" "Me? I had a few questions. They've got time, though! I better go!" "I'm not that tired, ask! I have to ask you something too!"
Teacher Beck sat down in the recliner at the round table, leaned back, and motioned for me to sit at the foot of the bed. "Well, what do you want to know? Didn't you understand something?"
I nodded toward the desk, "Thanks for the raspberry candy, it's almost gone. But who is Pollux?" I pointed to the letter, "By Ganymede you mean" I guessed, "you mean me. Yes? But why do you call yourself Pollux?"
"That's an old story! Do you know the legend of Castor and Pollux? In ancient Greeks they were called Castor and Polydeukes. They are half-brothers. They have the same mother, but Polydeukes is the son of Zeus and Castor of Tyndareaus, her real husband. You know, Zeus didn't take conjugal fidelity too seriously. When he fell in love with Leda, he turned into a swan and then....." he pondered for a moment, "I might tell you about that later!" as I looked at him questioningly, "When you're older!"
He cleared his throat before continuing, "The two of them, that is Castor and Pollux were so fond of each other that they did everything together, they even took part in the journey of Jason and the Argonauts together and they accompanied Hercules on his way to the Amazons!”
Now I remembered darkly, but Teacher Beck continued without asking if I knew the whole saga. "When Castor was slain in a quarrel, Pollux avenged him, but that did not help him get over his pain. He grieved so much that he decided to always stay with Castor and to follow him to the underworld. Zeus took pity on him and allowed them to stay together. From then on, they always had to spend one day in the light at the seat of the gods, Olympus, and one day in the dark, in Hades, the underworld. So, they are visible to one day and invisible to the other. Even today, the two brightest stars in the constellation of the twins are called Castor and Pollux."
As soon as he had told me, I jumped to the window to look for the stars. “No, no! He stopped me. "You can't see the constellation today Magnus, but in winter I'll show you!" Disappointed, I took seat again. Then I remembered my question. "Why do you call yourself Pollux?"
Teacher Beck hesitated for a moment, "I'm on first name terms with you, Magnus, and you're on first name terms with me. I'll offer you a deal. If we are by ourselves you can call me Paul, by my first name or Pollux if you like that better, but only outside of class, okay? In reverse I call you not only Magnus, but by your nickname Madz also. Do you agree?" I nodded in amazement, "Sure, you can...ah, you can call me Magnus or Madz.” My teacher had surprised me again. On one hand I was delighted, but on the other??”
*******
"Why do you call yourself Pollux? I asked again, adding, "Pollux sounds much nicer than Paul. I like that. But who is Castor? Your twin-brother?" "Castor isn't my brother. He's been my best friend since the homeroom teacher ordered us to take seat next to each other when we started in high school." He began to smile, "The teacher said, you will sit next to each according your last name and began to look up the class list. Paul Beck you will be sitting next to, then he studied the list of names again, Carlo Carstens. I took place in the bench and waited. Then he came, the student all the others had all laughed about as we had waited outside the class room. Carlo Carstens, short, fat, with a shock of flaming red hair. With a crew cur!!! Suddenly my hair stood on end! Red fox, I hissed! Then I spoke up." Pollux grinned even harder, "Why do I have to sit next to him? I want to sit next to a friend, not that ….." pointing to his red hair. The teacher shook his head, "You both will be sitting next to each other in my class. Each has to get along with the other, you have to learn to work together. Before you complain, get to know Carlo first!"
"I was so mad! I tried not to pay attention to Carlo the whole first period. During the first recess, the other classmates teased me. Now I got really mad, but not at my classmates, but at Carlo. Then came the big break. I was standing with others at the foot of the school stairs when Carlo came down. When he tried to pass me, I tripped him and he fell on his nose. The others began to applaud. Carlo, however, did not start crying, even though he had scraped his knee. He picked himself up, turned around. With a blow to my nose hoe knocked me off. My nose started bleeding. The supervising teacher came running up, pressed a handkerchief into my hand, "Don't complain boy, I saw you tripped him! That’s you fault, you are the guilty one!"
"Then what happened?" asked I, "Did the class teacher punish Carlo in the next lesson?" "No, he didn't put him anywhere else either. At home I cried to my mother until she sent me to bed." he nodded thinking about it, "In the afternoon the front door rang. I went to open it myself. There stood Carlo. When I went to close the door in his face, he put his foot in the door. That made me even angrier." "Did you get the door closed and send him away?" "No. He pushed the door open, held out a bar of chocolate to me and asked, “Can’t we be friends? I like you! “ and smiled at me in such a way that I couldn't help it. I let Carlo in and by the end of the afternoon we were best friends!" Then he scratched his head as if he had to think about what he could or maybe was allowed to tell me.
When he realized I was sliding back and forth on the bed with curiosity, he dared. "The next day I also met Carlo's little brother. The class teacher, who also taught history, had given us an extra paper, which we decided to write at Carlo's home. We had just finished the paper, made ourselves comfortable on Carlo's bed and started to play, when the door opened and Haaki stumbled in. Haakon was Carlo's little brother." As I must have looked a bit uncomprehending, Pollux grinned at me, "What do you think two twelve-year old were doing on the bed? After school? When they want to get to know each other better?" Since I still didn't understand, he became clearer, "I checked how he looked down there," pointing at my crotch, which was clearly visible in my too-small gym shorts. "I had just undone Carlo's pants, pulled down his underpants and curiously looked at how he looked down there. After all, I'm dark-haired and always tanned, so the hair around my willy was dark, too. Carlo was different. His skin was pale and his stiff willy stood in a dense nest of reddish hairs. His woody looked like vanilla-sweet pencil ice cream. Instead of a dark chocolate tip it had a raspberry-red tip." When I chuckled, he laughed, "You know pencil ice. It's pretty big and round. That's exactly what Carlo's woody looked like. Since I was in love with Carlo, I immediately fell in love with his pencil ice." Suddenly he became silent and his head turned crimson with embarrassment, "A teacher is not supposed to tell his student something like that! Please excuse me, but I've never told anyone of this event before. I just had to tell you!" He looked down at the floor. "I'm sorry."
At first, I didn't know what to do. Then I had an idea. We were friends now, and friends have no secrets, so I held out my hand to him, "I won't tell anyone, Pollux! But" when he took my hand, "you have to tell on!" "Deal!" he replied hesitantly, "His stiff willy really was as white as vanilla ice cream and a glassy drop was oozing out of the red raspberry at the top. I knew immediately that the I wanted to taste. Just as I was about to lick up the drop, the door flew open and Haakon stumbled into the room. "Haaki likes Calli!" he announced with bright eyes and tried to crawl to us on the bed, "Play, come play!" Carlo begged.
I got surprised and scared at the same time and almost bit Carlo's willy. Carlo was surprised also. He pushed my head back in fright, his willy shriveled into a little worm and he started scolding his brother. Kid get out of here. I have my new friend here. We want to play but without you. Haaki ignored his big brother's order, crawled onto the bed, fell around my neck, "Haaki likes Calli. Are you Pauli? Haaki likes Pauli!" Paul laughed as he remembered. "Haakon was Carlo's little spitting image: red-haired, freckles around his snup-nose, but had still a round baby belly and baby bottom."
I was bursting with laughter, because I could picture the brothers well and would have fallen in love with these redheads myself. "Why are you laughing Madz? Can you imagine Haakon. I'm sure you would have liked him right away! I tell you Madz, he was a rascal, as it is in the books. He still went to kindergarten, but already felt so grown up, as if he were twelve years old like Carlo. There was a reason for that. Carlo not only liked to play with his willy, but also with Haaki's." Pollux began to grin impudently, "Everything had started many years ago with Haaki's willy. When he told me about it I got a laughing fit. Do you know what Carlo said?" Pollux nudged Madz, "That was such a cute little worm back then when he was a baby. But when I fondled it, it would get all stiff and stand up like a pencil stub. When Haaki cried and I fondled his wee-wee, he immediately became very happy and was crowing with delight. And now I can't ween him off the habit. Just watch out, he'll seduce you too! Today the pencil stub is already as thick as a jumbo crayon!"
I was amazed. Why did his teacher let him in on such secrets? But there was something else I wanted to know, "Why the nicknames Castor and Pollux? I asked. "The class teacher gave us the names because since that first day we went through thick and thin together, like the two Greek mythical figures.
*******
Pollux got up, left the room and came back with a bottle of lemonade and two glasses. "Thirsty Madz? I’m! When I talk this long, I always get a dry throat." When the bottle was almost finished, he asked, "Now tell Madz, what didn't you understand about the book?" Now Madz had much more confidence in his teacher than he had at the beginning of the evening. They were friends now, at least he hoped so.
"I understood the sagas, but there are the pictures of Hermes with the winged helmets, of Pan once as a shepherd with the flute and goat's foot, and then of Pan with the goat. I don't understand those." "Why, what is not clear to you?" I blushed, "The Ganymede on the bowl has a little willy like a toddler. Mine is much bigger, even though I'm not as big as Ganymede yet. Hermes has a very small pointy one, too." As the Pollux frowned, I looked at him in amazement, "Don't you know what a willie
is? We always say that to penis. It sounds much funnier." I hesitated, "Yes and the Pan has a much bigger penis and when he plays with the goat, a pointy as a billy goat. A pointy dick!" Then I reflected. "And the god of Crete, in one picture has a giant dick, almost like a horse."
"Well, of course it seems strange to you, Madz! But the Greeks sometimes understated and at other times exaggerated, depending on the purpose and for whom the statues or paintings were intended. The sculptor made the penis of Hermes so small, because he made the statue for a temple. The young girls attending the services should not be frightened, they should love the temple. With Pan it is different! He is the god of shepherds and has to take care of the fertility of the flocks, hence the thin goat penis. The ancient Greeks even told themselves that when he fell in love with a goat, he would turn into a billy goat. Every time he did that, the goat would have twins.” he grinned, “And that was often enough!" Then Pollux thought for a moment, "And the statue from Crete? It represents a fertility god. I wonder if he was called Pan also. I doubt it. His penis? I don't think it's really as big as a horse'."
While Pollux was telling me this, I got a hard-on and was suddenly curious if Pollux would have reacted the same way. I took a curious look between Pollux's legs. What I saw there I had not expected. Pollux's penis, which was clearly visible in the thin underpants, was big, huge! Well, anyway, it seemed to be much bigger than Helmes', Stani's or Nickl's. Others I had not seen, so far! Probably four times as big! A thought flashed up I would I be able to take something that big in my mouth and suck it? Would Helmes be able to do that? Would he let me put something like that in his butt? No! I was sure of that. This dick was much too thick and big. Even milking fat would not help Helmes!
I began pondering about Pollux and me, my teacher and me! Maybe Mom was right, to be suspicious because of my visits to Pollux. She always liked me, even when she scolded me, even when she forced me to practice spelling, although I didn't like it at all. I couldn't see why everyone had to write all the words the same way. Why couldn't everyone write the way they found just right. It was much more fun to write cogg instead of cock, cadd instead of cat and or badd instead of bat. The logical result was a lousy spelling record. Despite I believed in the principal, I was of the conviction if I had to accept his way of spelling, then he had to accept mine. However, there was much more about it. Basically, I had the conviction, if I had to respect somebody, then he had to respect me likewise. The bad was, the others didn’t care about the foundation of living together, living in one world.
Did I like him like Papa? I did not know. My dad had died long ago. But back then? Did I like my dad when I was very young? I don't know, I can’t remember. Maybe I didn't, maybe I did. But I recalled some events. I never couldn't do anything right for him. Once I was afraid to swim in lake. He laughed at me! “You're not going to drown, just swim. Fat floats on top.” Once I wanted to climb a rock. “Come down immediately! Do you want to fall down and break your neck?” I could never do anything right for him. With Principal Gerstle, my mother's boyfriend, it was the same? For my feeling I had no reason to like him. He always knew everything better and put me down!
Pollux was different, he was like Mama. He was all right. He never laughed at me when I wrote a word the way I wrote it. At most he said, “Its ok, but others will don't know what you mean by it.” And when I answered, "Neither should they!” he laughed even more! I think I like him, despite ......
"What’s the matter?" asked Pollux, "You're dreaming!" When he noticed that I stared between his legs, he grinned, "You grew up without a father, right. Well then, you still have a lot to learn. But I won't tutor you in anatomy." I suddenly felt a little uncomfortable in my skin. "Sorry Pollux, I did something wrong," I said bashfully, "I'd better go now."
"Not just Madz now. I have a question for you, rather an invitation. Castor invites you to come with me when I visit him again in his castle this weekend. Would you like to come along? Castor, that is Carlo Carstens, is now vicar in the town of Hallberg and lives in an old castle with keep and chapel. Surrounding the castle are still remnants of castle wall. In the keep is a dungeon. There are also some torture tools on display. Under the chapel is a crypt with coffins. People in the village also tell each other that somewhere the treasure of the robber chief Veit Scharpf is hidden." Not knowing if he had aroused my curiosity enough he continued, "Carlo knows a boy slightly older than you who wants to look for the treasure. Do you want to come along? Castor invites you. He's dying to meet you. He's terribly curious about who you are and whether I'm right to call you Ganymede."
In the first moment I sat there as if petrified, then I jumped up and danced around Pollux as if he was an Indian chief. Then a boiling hot question came to my mind, "Mom won't let me. She won't even let me go to the next village alone. Besides, I have to go to confession on Saturday. I haven't been to confession in four weeks."
"Well," laughed Pollux, "what do you have to confess? I'm sure you didn't cut anyone's throat. That thing about picking cadies, that's not a sin, at least not a mortal one.” I had my doubts about it and shrugged my shoulders. There was something else, what I hadn’t told Pollux. But did I have to tell him? The stuff with Helmes the day on the evening before. Do I have to tell him, even he had confessed something similar to me earlier?
"Apropos of your confession," Pollux again used a word he didn't know. "You can also confess to Castor, he's a priest also. From first source I know, he is curious about you!"
Should I confess to Carlo, about the stuff I had learned from Helmes? What could I say to this suggestion? Tell Castor my secrets and then be with him all Saturday and Sunday? "I don't know! Confess to him? Maybe he won't like me afterwards and will send me home or tell you everything!" "Don't worry about it. He'll keep his mouth shut!” Actually, Pollux wanted to continue, “Like an old bucket,” but then he preferred to keep silent and continued instead, "What we have to do now, Madz, is to ask your mother. How can I explain it to her best I would like to take you for a visit to Carlo?" he sighed, "I'll just write her a letter and hope it convinces her!"
Madz looked over the shoulder of his teacher as he began to write:
Dear Mrs. Felden
Magnus is the best student in my class. He is not only good at math…..
And ended the letter
With best regards
Paul Beck
Magnus’ Teacher
I blushed, not because I was ashamed, but because of his praise.
Then Pollux pressed the letter into my hand, "It’ quite dark! Go now. In your presence the time passes very quickly!"
*******
On the way home, I hurried. What an invitation! An invitation to visit a castle and a search for a robber's treasure! This could happen only once in a thousand years! Mom must agree! She will, no she must permit me to visit the castle with Pollux! I'd better say "With my Teacher Beck to Chaplain Carstens to the castle!" She doesn't need to know that I am allowed to call him Pollux. I quickly sent a prayer to my guardian angel, "Please help me, dear guardian angel, I won't play around with Helmes anymore!”
Arrived at home I held the letter under my mother's nose before she could scold me, "Here mom, from Po..., from Teacher Beck. He invites me for a trip to Castle Hallberg. Please read the letter before you scold me for coming home late."
Mama thought for a moment and decided to postpone the thunder until she knew what the letter said.
Dear Mrs. Felden.
Read it there.
Magnus is the best student in my class. He is not only good in math and science, but also in all other subjects. I have told my school friend, Chaplain Carstens, in Stadt Hallberg about Magnus and he would like to meet your son. He told me to bring him with me on my next visit. Magnus would then get out of the small village for two days and see something new. I would like to take him with me already next weekend, because then Chaplain Carstens has a boy of the same age visiting. Together with him Magnus can then explore the remains of the castle in whose old building Chaplain Carstens lives.
I have talked to Magnus about it and he is on fire. Tomorrow I will also check with the principal, Mr. Gerstle, to see if there is anything that speaks against Magnus traveling with me.
I plan to ride my motorcycle to the town of Hallberg tomorrow after school. The ride will take about 45 minutes. The route is not dangerous. Nevertheless, Magnus will wear a safety helmet.
With the request to allow Magnus the trip I remain your
Paul Beck
Magnus' home-room teacher.
"Well, this is a surprise. I didn't know you were his best student. Most of all, I'm surprised that he told his friend about you and he invites you. I don't even know if I can agree with that."
"Please mom, please! I only found out that he thinks I'm his best student when I looked over his shoulder while he was writing. In class, he always treats me like the others. He is strict, but praises me when I answer his questions correctly."
When my mother still didn't seem convinced, I added, "He has some great books, for example about the gods of the ancient Greeks, you know, the ones by Homer. He also told me about Carlo, his school friend, and the old castle where he lives. He lives in the former palas, the castle building. The chapel and the keep are right next to his place." Then I begged, "Mama, I would like to go with him, I really do. I'm sure I won't be a burden to Mr. Beck or the chaplain. I promise you I'll behave well, too." To take an argument out of my mother's mouth, I quickly sputtered out, "My teacher said I could go to confession at Chaplain Carstens. You know I promised Father Angler I would go to confession on Saturday."
My arguments convinced mother and teacher Beck convinced Principal Gerstle, although he warned him that students and teachers should never get too close.
