Chapter 5

Mac awoke as usual at five o'clock, only this morning he didn't jump out of bed and rush into the gym, like he had been doing every morning for the past seven months. Instead, he propped the pillows against the headboard and leaned back to look out the window. He gazed out at the moonlight reflecting off the lake. After today, he would be relocating to Drew's penthouse in Manhattan. The villa had become Mac's home and he would miss it because he became attached to the Retreat and everyone there. His thoughts turned to the three glorious weeks that he and Drew would be spending in South America.

Mac glanced at the clock and realized he'd better stop daydreaming and get a move on. He wanted to join Professor Webster for breakfast, so he rushed through his workout, showered and dressed quickly.

Professor Webster had already started breakfast when Mac walked into the morning room. It was the first time in many months that he was able to enjoy having a leisurely breakfast with his teacher. The cramming was over now and the pressure was off. As they were having their second cup of coffee, Mac said, "I want to thank you for all your help, Professor. I know I could never have done this alone."

"Don't underestimate your own abilities, Mac. You have worked very hard to prepare for these exams, and I've enjoyed working with you. You've made my years of teaching seem worthwhile. This has been a rewarding time for me as a teacher. My old professor was right when he said that 'A teacher is lucky to find one student a year who justifies his faith in teaching.' I'm proud to say that for me, you were that student."

"I appreciate that Professor; I feel confident that I'll ace that test today."

Kim was waiting for Mac in the entrance foyer. The tears welled up in Mac's eyes as he hugged Kim. "My dear friend, I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for me, I'm going to miss you most of all."

"I will miss you, too, Mac. I wish you good luck on that exam. Make me proud of you."

Mac turned and walked out the entrance toward the waiting chopper never glancing back.

Yale University

Mac was one of the last students to leave the hall that afternoon after completing the exam. He hadn't realized the time until the proctor announced that the exam had ended. He'd become so absorbed in the exam that he hadn't noticed that the room had nearly emptied. He was among a handful of students who stayed to the end.

After leaving the University, he headed to his old apartment, the one that he shared with Rod Johnson. Rod opened the apartment door and hugged him. "Mac, it's good to see you again, old buddy."

"Same here," Mac said. "I don't know about you, but I'm starved. I think we both deserve the royal treatment tonight. Tell you what, you pick out the best restaurant around for us tonight, and I'll pick up the tab. Pick someplace where they won't rush us."

"In that case," Rod said, "what are we standing around for? Let's go, man."

Rod drove about seven miles into the countryside to an elegant restaurant that catered to the 'in crowd'. Good food, excellent service, pleasant atmosphere and expensive. They enjoyed a leisurely dinner. They were having their desert and coffee when Rod said, "I can't get over the change in you, Mac. You're not the same guy I roomed with seven months ago. You've become, I don't know, so self-confident and sophisticated."

Mac smiled, "I think my benefactor, Drew Stevens, is responsible for my transformation." He went on to tell Rod the whole story from when he landed on Drew's doorstep up to his South American trip tomorrow.

"I'm happy for you, Mac. If anyone deserves a break, it's you. I'll tell you a little secret, I always knew you would make it big one day."

"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Rod. Have you decided on a company yet?"

"I'm being pressured to make my decision by graduation day. I have two good offers in the works, but nothing earth shattering. How are the chances of getting on board with GW Stevens?"

"I'm sure we can make room for you if you are really interested in joining the firm. How do you think you scored on the exam?"

"I think I aced it," Rod said. "If you can get me into the GW Stevens Company, you'd be my friend for life."

Mac chuckled, "How can I resist a challenge like that? You know how hard it is to find good friends these days. I know they put you through a tough screening process. They want good-looking, wholesome, hardworking Eagle Scouts, like me. I don't know if you would qualify."

"You really know how to hurt a guy. Look, one-out-of-three, not too shabby. Hell, I'll win hands down if they let a farm boy like you in."

Mac laughed, "I'll see what I can do."

Mac told Rod of the little graduation party he was planning. He invited Rod and his lady friend for a weekend on the town, to celebrate their graduation. It would be Mac's treat. He wanted to arrange the party after he returned from his vacation. He asked Rod to get in touch with Lenore Hart to see if she and Robert would like to join them.

Both men headed back to the apartment for some serious packing. Mac quickly went through all his possessions and separated the saves from the no saves. He packed the few things he wanted to send to the Retreat and asked Rod to donate the rest to charity.

"Rod, please have the movers take the boxes I've marked." Mac handed Rod a signed blank check. "I want you to add up everything I owe you, including my share of the rent and the utilities. You may keep our deposit check as a graduation gift. Oh, one last favor; would you mind dropping me off at the airport first thing in the morning?"

"No problem, and thanks for the gift."

"I need to make a call. I'll be back," Mac said. He went into his bedroom to make the call to Drew. "I know you have a lot on your mind tonight, Drew, but I would like you to consider hiring my roommate, Rod Johnson."

"Are you suggesting Rod because he is your friend, or because you feel he will be good for the firm?"

"You know I would never patronize you, Drew. I'm suggesting Rod because he meets your high standards. He should graduate near the top of our class and it would be a shame to lose him to another firm. I'm convinced he will be an asset to our company and I would like you to hire him for my team."

"I'm sorry I made that comment," Drew said, "I should have known better. If you're convinced that he's a good candidate and he will be loyal to you, offer him a job, and have him contact Barbara tomorrow for the employment application. We'll work out the compensation package when we return from vacation. Once he signs our application, everything will move along through channels. We can discuss it in detail tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing you again. I'll be picking you up in the morning at seven-thirty."

Mac knocked on Rod's bedroom door.

"Come in, Mac."

Mac sat on the edge of the bed, "Are you serious about working for me at the GW Stevens Company?"

"Yes, Mac, It's a great company."

"I'm going to level with you, Rod. Drew Stevens is fast tracking me into upper management. He's letting me hand pick my own staff. You're smart, and I know you'll be loyal to me. In the beginning, you'll be working under Charles King in the legal department. After your training program, you'll be assigned to me. Do you have a problem with that?"

Rod shook his head, no. "You're my best friend, Mac; I don't see why you would treat me any differently as my boss. Thank you for being so candid. I know we'll work well together."

"Good," Mac said. "Drew Stevens has given me the okay to hire you. You're to call his secretary, Barbara, tomorrow to pick up the employment application. She will schedule your tests, and an appointment to meet with the HR Director. Drew and I will put a package together after we return from vacation in three weeks. That should give you enough time to consider any other offers that you wish to consider."

"You don't have to wait for my answer, Mac. I accept your offer."

"You've made the right decision, Rod. Learn as much as you can from Charles King, he's the best. Everything I have told you is confidential. I will tell you one other thing; no other company will come close to our employment package. If you have any questions at all, call Barbara, she will know where to find me."

"You're on the level with this offer, right?" Rod asked. "You're not pulling my leg, are you?"

"This is on the level," Mac said. "I would never joke about anything as important as your future. We can discuss everything in more detail when I return. Drew Stevens will want to meet you as soon as you pass your tests. Follow Barbara's instructions and everything will be fine. If you feel more comfortable with something on paper, let Barbara know and she will give it to you in writing."

"That won't be necessary, Mac. Your word is enough. I don't know how to thank you. Frankly, I'm overwhelmed, and too excited to think right now. I can't believe this; my own roommate offering me a job, just like that. Don't you find this just a little bizarre? Jesus, this is fantastic."

"I'm happy we'll be working together," Mac said. "Look, Buddy, I've had a rough day, I'm off to bed. We should be at the airport by seven o'clock tomorrow morning, Is that a problem?"

"No problem at all, I'll have you there on time."

♦      ♦      ♦      ♦      ♦      ♦

Rod and Mac arrived at the General Aviation Terminal, at Tweed-New Haven Airport earlier than planned. They were sitting in the airport cafeteria having coffee, when a terminal agent approached Mac to let him know that Drew's jet had landed and would arrive at the boarding area in a few minutes. They finished their coffee and headed to the departure gate to wait for the plane.

A spotless Boeing Business Jet taxied up to the terminal. The rays of the sun reflected off the highly polished surface. The GW Stevens Company name and logo, in bright blue lettering, stood out against the white painted surface. The stairs were moved to the aircraft, and a flight attendant opened the door and descended the stairs to greet Mac. He took Mac's overnight bag, while Mac hugged Rod and then boarded the jet.

Drew was waiting for him in his private lounge. Mac walked up to him and hugged him. "God, it's so good to see you again." They sat in the large lounge chairs and buckled their seatbelts.

"I've decided this is the only way to travel," Mac said. "I've missed you. I hate to say this, but you look like hell. This business with the President has taken a lot out of you."

Drew smiled, "Well, you look great. I expected to see an exhausted senior with dark circle under his eyes. Instead I find a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed tiger."

They spoke about some of the problems Drew was having with scheduling. He was trying to put together an agenda for his upcoming trips overseas for the President's commission.

"I've missed you too, Mac. You've changed. Maybe this is the first time I've had a chance to take a good look at you. For sure, you're not the same farm boy I found on my doorstep. Now, tell me how you did on your exam."

"Funny, you're the second person who's said I've changed. Rod said the same thing last night. I hope you're satisfied with what you have wrought. I'm still that same farm boy. To answer your question about the exam, I think I aced it and the professor felt the same. I spoke to him briefly last night. Of course there were a few questions that surprised me, but on the whole I felt good about the exam. You're right about one thing though — I felt like a new person when I woke up yesterday morning. Maybe because the first phase of my life had ended. Of course, I do regret leaving the Retreat, and saying goodbye to Kim and the rest of the staff. But, I have my career to look forward to when we return from vacation."

"Mac, that villa at the Retreat is yours, and will be for as long as you want it, nothing has changed."

South America

Drew briefed Mac on the scheduled events for the next few days with the Navarro’s. "Upon our arrival, we will be taken on the grand tour of the Navarro estates and the city of Caracas. Our Friday schedule is to spend the day sailing. Then a business lunch on Saturday, and later, a cocktail party followed by a formal dinner. Sunday is a free day, with a formal dinner in the evening, and Monday is a workday. That is as much as I know now. We have not firmed up our meeting with Eric Rothacher yet."

When they landed at Caracas International, they were met by Ramon Navarro and his son, Carlos. Ramon suggested they all return to his home to unpack and change before starting their tour of the city. After they had toured Caracas, they all returned to the estate for a marvelous, leisurely dinner, and turned in for the evening.

Mac and Drew shared a suite of rooms on the second floor. The temperature was in the high seventies with a pleasant breeze that eliminated the need for air conditioning.

Drew said, "I had a long talk with my mother and Claudia before I left. They are both crazy about you. They are delighted with you and consider you a member of the family."

"Also, Charles called me last week, and asked me again if I would let him have you in his department. He thinks you are brilliant, and has pleaded with me to transfer you. From what he has told me, you two have gone toe-to-toe a few times and he has admitted that you have bested him too many times."

"What did you tell him, Drew?"

"Only that I would talk to you about it and let him know your decision."

Mac's expression changed to one Drew had never seen before. He knew Mac was annoyed, but didn't understand why.

When Mac replied it sent chills through Drew's body, "I'm pleased that I've been accepted by your family," Mac said as he stood up, "I think I'll turn in now. It's been a long day and I am tired, good night, Drew."

"Mac, don't leave until you tell what I've said to upset you."

Mac turned back and sat on the edge of the chair. He spoke softly as he answered, and Drew could feel the despair in his voice. "I thought we settled this issue several months ago. What have I done to make you change your mind? I'm sorry I haven't measured up to your expectations of me."

"Mac, what are you talking about, why would you even think that?"

"Because you didn't turn Charles down right away.  I guess I'm too naive to believe you really wanted me for your assistant. I can't imagine where I failed you."

Mac stopped speaking and took a few deep breaths before he continued. "I'm sorry for losing my composure, Drew. You're the boss and I have no right to question your motives. Forgive me; I sound ungrateful for everything you have done for me."

"My God, Mac, I never meant to hurt your feelings, and I'm certainly not disappointed with you. You have accomplished more in the last six months than anyone I've ever known. Your performance has been exemplary. I would never expect you to work for Charles, unless that's what you wanted. I only mentioned this because I thought you would want to make use of your law degree. I'm delighted that you want to be my assistant. Do you really think I wanted to lose you? In any event, it would have only been a temporary arrangement until you passed the bar exams and earned your MBA. My future plans for you have not changed, Mac."

"Forgive me, Drew, I should have known better. I'm sorry I overreacted. You're the only man I could ever work for. You still haven't taken the farm out of the man yet; just be patient with me. I promise you I will never disappoint you."

Drew smiled, "You never have, Mac, and I don't believe you ever will."

The next two days were wonderful. Mac watched from the side lines while Drew and Carlos engaged in the more active sports. Even though his leg had improved, he still had to be careful. He concentrated on his tan, developing a beautiful bronze color that showed off his well-developed body even more. He spent most of his time either swimming or reading. Drew was relaxed and regaining his strength; he looked well rested and fit again.

Saturday was supposed to be the day that Mac and Drew were planning to spend sailing. However, Friday evening after a late dinner Mac told Drew that he needed to get away by himself to think.

Drew was surprised by Mac's sudden request.

"Is something bothering you, Mac? This is so unlike you. Look, we don't have to stay here. I hope you're not still brooding over that incident about Charles."

"That's a closed issue. This has nothing to do with anything you've done. The last thing I wanted to do is to spoil your vacation, but you're right, I've haven't been much fun, have I? There is something I have to sort through by myself. I need to be alone to think. Will you make some excuse to the Navarro’s? Tell them you sent me off to do some research for you. I'll take Ramon up on his offer and borrow his convertible for the day. I promise to be back this evening. Will you tell Carlos I will not be able to do the rounds of the clubs with him after dinner?"

"This sounds serious," Drew said, "Are you sure you don't want to talk about it?"

"Sorry, Drew, I need to get away for the day. I promise we'll talk about it this evening."

♦      ♦      ♦      ♦      ♦      ♦

Mac made it back to the villa before the Navarro’s and Drew returned from town. He showered and coated his body with the special moisturizing lotion Drew had given him. He changed into one of the new designer outfits, an off-white matching ensemble of a raw silk shirt and matching shorts. The light colors showed off his bronze tan and complimented his physique.

He had spent the entire day at the beach, soaking up the sun as he walked along the sand. After sundown, he had a leisurely dinner at one of the local restaurants and spent another two hours in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart before returning to the villa.

Mac was sitting on the terrace when Drew returned to their suite. Drew walked out to the terrace. "Hi, Mac, I missed you today. Come on into the bedroom with me; we can talk while I change."

Mac followed Drew into the bedroom and sat on the end of the bed. "Are you ready to talk about your problem now?"

"You're my problem, Drew."

Drew stopped and turned to face Mac. "What do you mean by that, Mac?"

"Drew, this is difficult for me, so please don't interrupt me until I'm finished."

"Go on, Mac."

Mac stared directly into Drew's eyes, "I'm in love with you. I knew for sure the minute I held you in my arms on Thursday. I had to get away to sort this all out in my own mind. You've always told me to come to you when I had a problem. Well, this is a whopper, and I don't know how to handle it. I'm prepared to fly back to New York tomorrow if that's what you want. Now that I think about it, maybe working for Charles wasn't such a bad idea after all. I'll move my things out of the penthouse and the Retreat, as soon as I find a place. I'll do whatever you want."

Drew stared at Mac for a long time before answering. Then he walked over to Mac, took his head in hands and kissed him tenderly. "I've wanted to do that for a long time, my beautiful farm boy. I've been in love with you from the day you walked into my life."

Mac pulled Drew into his lap and wrapped his arms around him. He held him for a long time, not saying a word. Then he showered him with kisses. "Oh God, Drew, I've been dreaming of this for months. You don't know how I prayed that you would not hate me."

"When did you realize you were in loved with me, Mac?"

"I was pretty sure the weekend we spent together at your penthouse. I had no doubts after the weekend we spent on the West Wind. After that, I knew I would never be able to conceal my deep feelings for you. I've always loved you as a friend. This revelation came at the worst time, with my exams ahead of me and your being away. These last three days have been the most agonizing I've known. I was devastated when you told me about Charles. I couldn't bear the thought of leaving you.

"My feelings for you reached a point where it was beginning to affect our relationship. I was planning to see a shrink when we return to New York. I have never been in love before and I find it to be emotionally draining. I realized yesterday I couldn't live this way any longer; I had to tell you the truth. That's why I needed to be by myself today. I knew it was time to tell you and suffer the consequences."

"God, Mac, I wish you had come to me sooner. We both would have been a lot happier. Now you can appreciate what I've been going through. I never thought I would find a man like you. You're everything I've ever wanted, all rolled up into one talented and beautiful man. I was dreading this meeting tonight, I thought you were about to tell me that you were leaving. Now you know the reason why I suggested you work for Charles. It was becoming more difficult to control my desires for you. I almost lost it when you were so hurt about moving over to the legal department. I realized how much we needed each other. I knew then I could never let you go, there is so much I wanted to say to you ..."

Mac kissed him tenderly, closing off his last words. They stayed locked in an embrace for a long time. "I want to make love to you," Mac said. "Stay where you are while I turn off the lights and bolt the door."

When Mac returned, he was naked. He slowly undressed Drew and they slipped into bed together. "I love you so much, Drew, but I'm worried that I won't please you, sexually. I'm a virgin, Drew, and I've never had any kind of sex before. I'm embarrassed at my lack of experience. I've purchased several gay porno CD's and a few Safe Sex CD's to know how it's done, but alas, you're in love with an inexperienced stud. You're just going to have to teach me how to make love to you."

Drew laughed, "Talk about the blind leading the blind. I've never been to bed with another man before either. We'll just have to let nature take its course. It should be an exciting learning experience as we strive to satisfy each other."

Drew had always admired Mac's well-developed exquisite body. The last few days in the sun had turned his skin a radiant golden bronze color. He could see the silky skin stretch over his rippling muscles as he moved. Drew was excited as he ran his fingers over Mac's beautiful body and down to his genitals. He felt Mac respond to the gentle probing.

Mac turned Drew on his back and straddled him just below the knees. He wanted to explore every inch of that golden tanned body. He slowly ran his fingertips very lightly over Drew's body, from his chest to his groin. He then lightly kissed every part of his body and Drew moaned with pleasure. He turned Drew on his side, facing him, and wrapped his arms around him. "I love you, baby, it's exciting to feel your skin pressed against mine. You're more beautiful than I ever imagined." Mac kissed him passionately, forcing his tongue deep into Drew's mouth.

Lying in this position, their hands were free to explore each other, yet still locked in a passionate kiss. Their fingers roamed over each other with a touch so light it made their flesh tingle. Their bodies were locked together and their erections were rubbing against each other. Their passion reached a fever pitch. Drew's probing tongue brought Mac to the edge.

The love Mac felt for Drew was so strong that he wanted their minds and bodies to merge as one. Without realizing it, Mac was using his brain waves to project his passionate feelings deep into Drew's mind. Drew was receiving the flow of brain waves and returning them just as strongly. He had inherited the gift from his mother.

The impulses were so strong that they created a continuing montage of emotional passions; so beautiful that the men could only moan with the pleasure that they were passing to one another. Mac drove them to heights that they'd never experienced, or dreamed possible. The emotions ranged from tender moments so beautiful that they would sigh from the exquisite feelings, to the next moment of hard driving sex that caused them to moan with pleasure. The waves were becoming so strong that Drew was close to blacking out. Every fiber of his body was consumed by passion.

Drew felt as if Mac was kissing every part of his body at the same time. It drove him into a sustained level of passion and he didn't want to stop. The emotion kept building until every muscle in his body tensed and demanded fulfillment. He could no longer sustain this height of stimulation. His orgasm was the most sustained he had ever experienced in his entire life. He thought it would never end when his sperm erupted between their joined bodies. They both were emotionally drained and fully satisfied. Drew's only desire was to hold Mac and never let him go. He nestled his head on the pillow next to Mac and fell asleep.

Mac awoke at his normal five o'clock with Drew still sound asleep, nestled in his arms. He turned him on his back and straddled him placing a knee on each side of his thighs facing him. He leaned forward and kissed Drew on the lips and neck until he opened his eyes. Mac kissed and licked Drew's body from his head to his groin, covering every inch of his velvety skin. Drew became aroused and his erection grew. Mac continued to lick Drew's penis until it was wet with saliva. Then he took him into his mouth while gently massaging Drew's testicles at the same time. Drew's testicles pulled up tight to the base of his penis as his legs and stomach muscles tightened and his whole body stiffened as the sperm erupted in Mac's mouth. When the erection softened, Drew pulled him into his arms.

They lay that way for a long time, kissing each other. Drew had Mac lay on his back and he made love to him in the same gentle way. Only, Drew was more deliberate, and much slower, in his actions causing waves of pleasure to surge though Mac's body. He had Mac slithering and twisting with pleasure as he continued to arouse and stimulate him. Drew brought him almost to the point of orgasm several times, yet each time he stopped, driving his passion higher and higher. He kissed and licked every part of Mac's body until he couldn't take it any longer and Mac grabbed Drew's shoulder and forced his mouth down onto his penis and he came in his mouth immediately. Mac pulled Drew up next to him and they lay in each other's arms and drifted off to asleep once again.

Drew woke to the rays of the sun bathing his face. He whispered into Mac's ear, "I love you." He stuck his tongue into Mac's ear until he opened his eyes and smiled.

"I love you, too, baby. I could lie here all day like this listening to you whispering in my ear how much you love me," Mac said. He pulled Drew closer and kissed him gently on the lips. "I can't think of a better way to begin the first day of my new life than to be staring into the eyes of my beautiful lover. How is it possible, that a gorgeous creature like you has managed to stay unattached?"

"Simple; I was waiting for you, my handsome farm boy."

"Damn good reason." Mac said. "Now, my wonderful baby, you have a choice this morning. We can get up, take our shower, dress and have breakfast. Or, take our shower, have breakfast, stay in bed, to continue to perfect our lessons in lovemaking. I don't wish to influence your decision in any way, but I'm a firm believer in a good education. One thing's for sure — I've worked up an appetite from all this lovemaking. This is the first time I've been hungry for food for the last three days, I guess it's catch up time. God, you're so damn sexy. Do you think all lovers feel the same way, or are we special?"

Drew smiled, "We're very special."

Then Mac smiled, "You realize of course, you have taken my virginity without even a hint of marriage. Are you going to be a gentleman and propose marriage to me, or do I live in shame and disgrace the rest of my life? We Catholics have strict rules when it comes to taking advantage of innocent unsuspecting virgins, like me. A small, simple ceremony, with close family and friends, will do just fine."

Drew kissed Mac tenderly, "Am I really the first person, you've ever been to bed with?"

"What kind of Eagle Scout do you take me for? You're my first, and also, my last. There will never be anyone else, ever."

The tears were running down Drew's cheeks, "Never is a very long time, Mac. It makes me very happy to hear you say it, anyway."

Mac kissed the tears from Drew's cheek, "Forever is long enough for us. I will always love you and I'll never leave you. You're my lover and mate for life. All I want from you is your love. I won't say our marriage will always be perfect. I'm sure we will disagree every once in a while, but that's normal. Our mutual respect and love for each other will always keep us together. We have a lot to talk about, Drew, and I don't mean business, or family, just between lovers. I want you to know everything about me. I don't want any secrets between us. I don't think I could ever take another rejection from you again and particularly over some stupid misunderstanding. Granted, I overreacted, but nevertheless it was thoughtless of me not to discuss it with you first."

"Sweetheart, please stop crying," Mac said. "You're supposed to be setting a good example for us country boys. Or is this your way of saying I'm not going to get that raise?" He kissed the tears that were running down Drew's cheeks and held him until he had calmed down.

"Let's order breakfast and get cleaned up," Drew said. "What would you think of a drive down the coast to find an isolated beach where we can make out?"

"Sounds delightful, but I don't know if I can keep my hands off that beautiful body of yours at a public beach."

"Same here, but I'm yours now and you're free to touch me any way you want."

After breakfast, the two changed into bathing suits and shorts. "Just a minute, Drew, I have something for you." Mac handed Drew the wrapped gift box.

Drew removed the gift wrapping from the box and removed the beautiful gold medallion and chain. He examined it carefully and read the inscription on the reverse side with tears filling his eyes again.

"I want this medal to always remind you that my life and my heart are yours. It is so fitting that I'm giving this to you on this our special day. Drew will you marry me?"

Mac took the medal and placed it around Drew's neck. He kissed him and held him in his arms until he stopped crying. He kissed Drew's eyes and again on the lips.

"Are you feeling better now, baby?"

"Much better, thanks. I want to stay in your arms like this forever. Of course I'll marry you, my beautiful farm boy. Your present is perfect and I will always treasure this gift. Where on earth did you find it?"

"Drew, my love, I didn't find it, it's an original. I designed it myself and had the jeweler make it from my drawing. This is to remind you that our marriage was made in heaven. I'm your gift from God. Now my darling, I think this will be a good time to leave. You're giving me one hell of an erection. I don't think junior is going to remain cooped up in this skimpy bathing suit."

Drew laughed heartily, "I think you're right, come on, let's go."

♦      ♦      ♦      ♦      ♦      ♦

They drove along the causeway that ran parallel to the beach, for several miles, until they found an isolated stretch of beach with nothing in sight as far as the eye could see. They parked the car and carried the blanket and air mattresses close to the water's edge.

"I'm getting an erection rubbing this lotion on you," Mac said. "Every time I touch your body, I want to make love to you. I'll need to wear a jock strap when I'm around you from now on. Do you think I'm oversexed?"

"You're just a healthy man who wants to make love to his lover. There's nothing wrong with that; it's perfectly normal for people in love. I happen to have the same problem. I had a talk with my shrink about this same problem when I fell in love with you. The doctor told me it was normal and will lessen with time. With us, however, I don't know." Mac lay down next to Drew and held his hand.

Drew woke up two hours later. "Mac, wake up, it's time to turn over and grill the other side."

Mac opened his eyes and glanced at his watch. "I'm hungry and it's almost lunch time. Let's take a walk up the beach and check out that snack bar we passed on the way here."

"Sounds like a winner to me."

The little stand was two miles up the beach. They ordered two takeout lunches and a bottle of wine and walked back down to their blankets.

"How long do you do figure it will take us to wrap up this deal in South America, Drew?"

"Not more than a few hours with Ramon, and maybe two days at the most with Eric. We're scheduled to meet with Eric next week to sign a letter of intent on his deal. It should prove to be one of the most important meetings in your career. I know that this partnership will be worth billions to us in the future. We can go over that in detail this coming week. Other than that, our time is our own. I still have to spend some time working on my committee business but that shouldn't affect you at all."

"I'll look over the contracts tonight. What time is the meeting tomorrow?"

"It's ten-thirty tomorrow morning in Ramon's office in town. Why do you ask?"

"There are a couple of things you should know about me," Mac said. "I have this gift of mental telepathy. I don't want to keep this from you any longer now that we are lovers. I not only can read people's minds, but I can project thoughts into their minds as well. I have never used this power on you, though God knows I wanted to, but that would go against my own principles. I must confess I unintentionally used it on you last night. My overwhelming desire for you took control, and I wanted you to feel the same emotions I was feeling."

"Mac, darling, you have my permission to use your power any time you want. I have nothing to hide from you. I knew something wonderful and special was happening to me last night, and I knew it had something to do with you. It was very intimate and beautiful. I hope you will always share this gift with me."

"It's not easy to read a person's mind. Last night we were on the same wavelength. Our concentration was focused and it was easy to pick up your brain transmissions."

"This is wonderful, it could be useful to us in the future," Drew said. "Why are you staring at me like that?"

"I was admiring you and thinking what a lucky guy I am. You are so handsome and it feels wonderful to be married to you. My head is still in the clouds, I'm so happy. Drew, can we cut these two business trips short and have a real honeymoon together? Wouldn't it be wonderful to find a secluded island some place where we can be lovers; some place where we can walk around naked, have erections all day, and make love anytime we want? Some place where I don't have to share you with anyone else?"

"You're turning me on, Mac. Let's drive back to the villa and make plans to do just that."

Mac was holding Drew's hand as they drove back. "Wouldn't it be better for your image if I moved into another apartment, after you return from overseas?" Mac asked.

"Look, baby, I appreciate your concern for my reputation, but another apartment is out of the question. We're married and I don't intend to let you out of my sight, not for one minute longer than necessary. We're living together as a couple from now on. If you're not happy living in the Penthouse, we can find someplace else. You are my partner, and we will be sleeping together from now on. That is, unless you have a hang-up about that? For appearance sake, however, we can arrange to keep your present bedroom suite as it is, but we will be sleeping together in my bed. You never found anything wrong living with me up to this point, why has it suddenly become a problem now that we're a couple?"

"You're right, Drew. I guess I've become self-conscious all of a sudden. You know I don't feel any differently about myself. I still feel as normal as any other man. The only difference is that I'm in love with you. My feelings for other men and women have not changed. I've never been aroused sexually by other men. I'm not embarrassed if another man admires my body either. I know that people find me attractive because of my well-developed body, but that is as far as it goes.

"It's all so crazy. Yet it makes sense now that I think about it. That's probably the reason why I've never been intimate with any of my girlfriends. I thought I was in love with my high school girlfriend, but deep down I didn't feel any desire to go further. It bothered me that I didn't feel more passionate for the woman I hoped to marry one day. I figured that I was one of those people you hear about, who are incapable of love. In any event, I never doubted my sexual orientation. At least I know I'm capable of love. It's really ironic in a way, all these years I was so uptight because I couldn't fall in love, and when I do, it's with a man. Nature can play funny tricks on us. Now I'm in love with you, with all the emotional baggage associated with being gay. I can honestly say I have a good feeling about our relationship. These months with you were the happiest days I have ever known. And, since yesterday, it has become even better.

"I realize that my church is against me because I'm a homosexual. I never have agreed with the princes of the church for their lack of compassion, or their attitude toward homosexuals. After all, we're God's children, too. I realize we'll have to play the role of two straight males in our society. But I'm not ashamed of what I feel for you. I will continue to conduct myself as society expects me to act. I plan to go on living as I always have and keep my sexual orientation private. We really have no choice but to be discreet and play by the rules of the majority. It's not my intention to hide under a rock either. However, I do plan to support the gay community financially. But I think it would be wise to keep our private life private."

"I agree, sweetheart, it's the only way."

"I'm planning a small graduation party for my close friends. Just three couples. My thoughts were to start the weekend off on a Friday evening, with cocktails at the Penthouse followed by dinner and a show. Fly out to the West Wind on Saturday for a day of sailing, and spend the night on the yacht. And then back to Manhattan on Sunday for brunch. The three couples will be Lenore and Robert, and Rod and his girlfriend, and us. I hope you don't object to being my date for the weekend?"

"I'll be happy to be your date, sweetheart."

"We'll schedule it before you leave for Paris, if that's all right with you. Don't worry about the expense. This will be my treat for a change. Speaking of expenses, I would like to know what my share of the apartment is going to be."

Drew laughed heartedly, "Don't worry about the rent my love. You're my spouse now; everything I own is yours, unless you divorce me. I have a surprise for you when we return home.

"You know, Mac, I'm really surprised that you never suspected that I had a crush on you. But, as impossible as it may sound, I somehow had the feeling that one day you would feel the same way toward me. After we spent that weekend with Claudia, I knew that I had found the man I'd been searching for all of my life. Claudia called me after your talk, to tell me that you were in love with me. She was the one who suggested that you should continue to live with me. All you needed was time. That, my love, is when I started to spend many hours planning our future together as a couple. You did give me a few torturous moments this past week, but that's behind us now.

"In any event, the paperwork is completed and all it will take is our signatures. When we return home, our personal accounts will be changed to a joint account. Our payroll checks will be deposited into that account in the future. Our personal expenses will also be disbursed from that account. The account has a cap of five-million dollars. Naturally, you will continue to use the company credit cards for anything you need. I've also established a joint safety deposit box for our important personal papers together with bearer bonds in the amount of four-million dollars and five million in cash. The five million is your wedding gift to spend as you see fit. In addition, I'm giving you the codes to my personal overseas bank accounts. You must only access those accounts in case of an emergency. If you need to draw money out of any of our accounts, always deposit it through our joint account and let me know the amount."

"My, God Drew, you're blowing my mind with your wedding gift, I'm overwhelmed by your generosity. I've gone from being a struggling lawyer to a millionaire in one day. I feel uncomfortable accepting such an extravagant gift. I don't feel I'm entitled to that much money."

"You have earned that, and more, on those two deals you pulled off for the company. Your bonus on these two deals should amount to several million dollars in GW Stevens' stock. We are married, baby, and you are now officially my executive assistant. You will be traveling in my circles from now on and you will be expected to act and look the part of an officer of the company. Now that you are a millionaire, you'll begin to see things from a different perspective. You'll know how it feels to be wealthy. Believe me; the money will change you in a good way. You'll develop a different attitude toward life and become more self-assured with the knowledge that you are independently wealthy. I've given this a great deal of thought for some time. I trust you and above all else, I love you and I want you to have the best of everything. It's important that you to learn how to manage our money wisely and always remember Uncle Sam has his hand out for his share."

"Christopher will take you around and introduce you to my tailor and boot maker to expand on your wardrobe. How are you at public speaking?"

"I've had some experience in speaking before large groups in Law school. However, I do feel that I could use some professional tutoring to polish my skills."

"Good, when we get back, contact the VP of Public Relations. I'm sure he can help you on that score. Also, contact the VP of Marketing and have him give you a complete crash course on all our divisions and our marketing strategies. My advice is to write your own speeches, then work with the PR people to help you smooth out your presentation. Well, Mac, do you think you can handle all that?"

"Piece of cake, I'm always willing to improve my image."

When they returned to the villa, Mac spent the rest of the afternoon reading the Navarro contract while Drew called his travel agent to find their honeymoon island. The broker returned his call two hours later with the ideal rental property in the Caribbean. The rental included a complete staff that commuted to the main island every evening. Drew was able to reach Eric Rothacher to reschedule the Brazil trip.

They broke the news to Ramon of their change in plans at dinner that evening. Of course, Ramon was disappointed, but as always, he remained the perfect host. They agreed that Carlos would fly to New York to transfer the funds to his bank. They wrapped up their business with the Navarro’s the following morning and flew to Brazil to complete their final negotiations with Eric Rothacher. Eric was delighted with the new arrangement and felt it would speed up any future business between the two partners. He believed they would grow into a very profitable joint venture group.

On Wednesday afternoon, they flew to Paradise Island, to spend the rest of their vacation at the secluded private estate. They both agreed it would be best to tackle the President's project first. With that out of the way, they could relax and enjoy the rest of their vacation. As a team, they worked smoothly and efficiently. The work moved ahead without any wasted motion. After each day's morning work session, they would walk down to the little secluded beach that was isolated from the house. They removed their bathing suits and made love. When they became too hot from the sun, they would jump into the cool, clear water to cool off.

For the rest of their honeymoon they were never apart. They strolled along the beach completely absorbed in each other. The two lovers walked arm-in-arm, mile after mile, along the deserted beach on their private island. One hour melted into another, one day into another, until it was time to leave. The day before they were to leave, they took the sailboat out early in the morning, and spent the entire day sailing around the island. The sun's rays started to lengthen and turn a deep, reddish-orange color as they docked the boat. The entire staff stayed that evening to serve them their last gourmet dinner. Drew handed each of them an envelope and thanked them for their outstanding service.

That evening they just lay together in one another's arms and engaged in the most wonderful mind-melding sexual experience, and fell asleep. Mac was up early the next morning and jogged along the beach for the last time. He returned, shaved, showered and returned to bed with Drew.

Refreshed and fully rested, they took one last stroll along the beach. After returning to the villa they finished packing and took the speedboat to the main island, where Drew's jet was waiting to take them home. They both were a little sad at leaving Paradise Island behind.

To be continued...
