Chapter 46
The sudden wind change and resultant strong squall drove the
Wanderer away from the crew enjoying a swim in the warm waters, leaving Brian,
Wayne, Jamie, Stuart and Timmy struggling in the rapidly rising seas while Jeff
helped Shaun and Donny over the side from where they clung to the boarding
ladder after throwing the two lifebuoys over the side for the swimmers. Shaun
immediately set about shortening sail as he tried to keep sight of the bobbing
heads as the ketch sailed on leaving them far behind in her wake, Donny and Jeff
assisting where they could. They gradually reduced sail and turned the heavy old
boat about trying to reverse course back to where their friends floundered about
trying to stay afloat in the washing machine like seas.
The Wanderer had travelled quite a few kilometres before they succeeded in
bringing her under control and turning her about, now they had the long slow
return, tacking into the wind slowly praying everyone would be ok. The building
seas crunched into the bows as spray flew high drenching the lads as they peered
ahead searching the confused churning white waters on both quarters looking for
the swimmers. Jeff was turning green from the swooping motion and was shivering
with the cold as the gale blew over his saturated body, he soon began retching
and throwing up as he fell to his knees clinging to the guard rail with his head
over the side. Salt water deluged over the distressed tourist adding to his
misery as Wanderer corkscrewed through the rapidly building seas.
Some time passed as the old ketch gradually drew closer to the area where the
squall had hit them, Donny yelled loudly against the wind one arm pointing to
the port side of the bow as Wanderer buried her bowsprit deep into a roller
which charged over her side and nearly swept the ill Jeff overboard only his
terrified grip on the rail saved him from joining the swimmers. Shaun peered
through the spray to where Donny pointed and saw briefly a flash of orange as a
lifebuoy bobbed over a wave crest to vanish into the deep trough behind. He
turned the old craft bow into the wind and hit the starter button of the engine
as Donny began lowering what sail was still set.
The faithful little engine coughed and spluttered belching black smoke but soon
it settled down and began pushing the heavy hull towards where the lifebuoy was
seen. The yacht shuddered under the continual assault as comber after comber
crashed over her bows to surge along her deck before running over the sides in
cascading waterfalls. Jeff now feeling better as the yacht began to move under
power again pulled himself to his feet peering into the gale eyes watering from
the cold, he picked out the lifebuoy and saw two heads beside it as the lads
clung to it in a life and death struggle with the elements.
The Wanderer slid closer crashing into the now meter and a half surf as she
inched closer, Jeff and Donny manned the rail as the yacht approached the
exhausted swimmers. Jeff recognised it was his friends James and Stuart, Donny
and he reached out to the boys as the yacht hovered on a wave, they grabbed the
lads hands and as Wanderer dropped into the trough they pulled and lifted the
two exhausted lads over the side along with the lifebuoy and laid them on the
wet water sloshed deck. Both lads were suffering from hypothermia and began to
vomit up salt water as Donny and Jeff dragged them towards the stern and into
the cockpit before returning to the bows once again to continue the search for
Brian, Wayne and Timmy.
They motored on towards the looming cliffs without seeing a trace of the missing
guys, Shaun waited for a lull in the seas and quickly spun the helm thrusting
the engine to full power trying to get Wanderer turned about before the next set
of huge rollers. The yacht began to turn sluggishly at first as she fought the
current and wind slowly the bows crept to starboard moving ever so slowly across
the tall granite grey cliffs. Wanderer dragged herself against the pummelling
pounding seas struggling to come around as the seas began to build again
suddenly she was hit by a huge backwash from the cliffs which helped swing her
bow out and away she now began the long backtrack in search of the missing
Brian, Wayne and Timmy.
Shaun was wracked with guilt; he had been so upset and angry with his missing
father now maybe he was dead along with his boy friend and poor young Timmy.
Shaun was desperate to find Brian and make it up to his dad, to tell him he
loved him and that it didn't matter if he wanted Wayne in his life. His eyes
darted back and forth searching the surf, Donny and Jeff clung to the stays up
forward searching and wiping salt spray from their inflamed stinging eyes as the
yacht crept along rolling and burying her bows.
The sun was lowering in the west behind the headland and the light was beginning
to fade, Shaun poked Jamie in the ribs as he lay on the deck of the cockpit
shivering, the lad looked up at Shaun who asked if he could operate the radio.
Jamie shrugged and Shaun told him what channel to turn to and how to call the
Coast guard at Eden, Jamie staggered below and switched on the radio adjusting
it to the emergency channel and making a distress call, he waited hearing
nothing but static then called again, no answer he tried several more times
before turning to the hatch and telling Shaun there was no answer. Shaun cursed
and said. "Ok James we must be too close to the cliffs our radio calls aren't
getting through to the base from here. It is probably a dead spot. We'll just
have to keep searching by ourselves."
They continued struggling along searching and finally well away from where they
estimated the squall hit in the growing gloom Jeff spotted a faint light flash,
Shaun turned towards the direction and again there was the flash of a strobe
light. Shaun yelled, "It's the lifebuoy guys we've found them."
The yacht manoeuvred close and there were Brian and Wayne supporting Timmy as
they clung to the buoy, Shaun steered closer and turned upwind then slipped the
engine out of gear to drift back towards the swimmers. Wanderer rolled heavily
as she drifted beam on to the surging seas closing the gap quickly and soon the
guys were in reach and the lads pulled Timmy aboard then helped Wayne who Brian
pushed towards them. He flopped limp on the deck as Donny and Jeff dropped him
and reached out to Brian who was almost submerged as his cold hands let go of
the buoy. Jeff having longer arms strained to get a hold of the man before he
drifted into the depths, he felt Brian's hair as his fingers brushed across his
head, he tightened his grip grabbing the man's hair almost tearing it out as a
wave crashed over them trying to tear Brian away.
Donny grabbed hold of Jeff as he was nearly pulled over the side and between the
two of them they pulled Brian's inert body onto the deck, Donny began CPR on the
unconscious man and soon Brian coughed and spluttered bringing up a salty drool
from his lungs. Brian groaned shivering uncontrolled as Shaun turned the ketch
back towards the entrance to Twofold Bay, He told Stuart to go below and Donny
and Jeff dragged Timmy, Brian and Wayne down into the cabin as Wanderer crashed
through the surf semi submerged most of the time as she made her slow return
under power.
The turned into the wide entrance rolling gunnels under gradually she reached
calmer water as she chugged further into the shelter and eventually she motored
into the harbour and tied up to the wharf. Below decks the guys were all huddled
together trying to get warmth back into their chilled bodies as they drank hot
tea laced with some rum, they felt the change in motion as Wanderer reached calm
waters and then heard the gentle grinding thump as she nudged against the wooden
piles of the wharf. The engine stopped and they heard the lads on deck as they
ran to get the mooring lines ashore, Brian struggled to his feet and shuffled to
the ladder a towel around his shoulders for warmth as he poked his head out to
see Shaun seated slumped at the helm eyes closed, exhausted from the stress of
the afternoon.
Brian reached out his hand and rested it on his son's knee; Shaun sat up opening
his red-rimmed eyes and looked at his father, he was stony faced at first but as
Brian spoke the boy began to weep. Brian said, "Shaun we all owe you our lives,
without your expert handling of Wanderer and persistence we would all have
drowned. I'm so proud of you son."
Shaun fell to his knees in the cockpit and hugged Brian through the hatch, his
young body rocked with the deep sobs as he wept. He finally croaked out, "Dad
I'm so sorry for all the mean things I said to you and the spoilt brat way I've
been behaving towards you and Wayne. When I thought I'd lost you I nearly died,
dad I'm so sorry I need you so much in my life."
Brian hugged the boy to him cheek to cheek and both wept together as Donny and
Jeff appeared from up on the wharf, the two lads stood watching the father and
son making up and both looked on with tears in their eyes. Brian looked up at
the lads and said, "Guys I owe you our thanks too, you both did a great job and
I know without your aid Shaun couldn't have rescued us so we are indebted to you
just as much as my clever son here."
Wayne appeared at the hatch from down below and saw Shaun and Brian embracing
and crying he climbed out and joined them wrapping his strong arms around his
lover and Shaun in a huge hug as he too began to weep quietly. Below in the
cabin, James, Stuart and Timmy were lying together on Shaun's bunk their slender
bodies naked as they lay spooned together trying to warm up their still sea
chilled bodies. The three well-fit lads glad to still be alive and now feeling
somewhat warmer their thoughts began to turn to sex.
Timmy was the ham in the sandwich and could feel James' hot hard dick pressed
into the cleavage of his tight little arse while he snuggled against Stu's
sports firmed muscular buttocks, wriggled his not tiny penis against Stu's
warming crack. Timmy sighed and giggled as James pressed his sweet tool into the
boy's twitching entrance, his 5inch spike opened the giggling Timmy and soon was
fully embedded in the lad's tight hot innards. The action of James humping him
drove his hips forward poking his cock deep into Stu's crack nuzzling the tight
portal to paradise. Stu pushed back murmuring, "Come on my little Aussie stud
let me feel how hard and hot that cock is."
Timmy ground his slender hips into the firm resilient arse cheeks stirring his
dick about inside Stu's sexy mushy boiling hot innards, Timmy moaned and groaned
as James pushed deep inside him forcing him fully up Stu's cuddling chute. The
lads soon developed a rhythm and the cabin echoed to the sound of sighs, moans,
grunts and groans along with the wet sexy sounds of cocks slipping in and out
while hips and bellies slapped on arses. Stu was wanking fast as he felt Timmy
nearing his panting pinnacle, his big balls drew tight as his boner throbbed and
swelled in his grasp, Timmy felt Stu beginning to tighten as he tensed up pre
eruption and began frantic rabbit roots into Stu's tightening twitching twat.
James hearing both lads rapidly nearing climax drove deep and hard into Timmy
joining both his companions in their closeness. Timmy was first due to the dual
pleasure of receiving and giving, he grunted and whined as his moment rushed
upon him. Three cocks throbbed excruciatingly, swelled and began to spurt in
thick hot gushes of cum, Stu's flew through the air to splatter on the teak
timber of the locker beside the bunk while Timmy erupted inside his
accommodating arse, James flooded Timmy's guts in huge excited gouts until
frothy sperm bubbled out the lad's spasming ring.
They jerked and quivered, breaths hissing and gasping in their frenzy slowly
their climaxes eased and they collapsed sweaty, hot and sticky on the bunk as
Wayne stuck his head inside the hatch to call them on deck. He paused staring at
the three naked exhausted lads, as they lay entangled breathing heavily in a
sexual stupor. Wayne slid his legs into the hatch and sat on the edge waiting
till the boys regained their senses, he was admiring the sight of the three
naked sexy looking lads lying naked on the bunk. Timmy opened his eyes dreamily
stared up at Wayne sitting in the hatchway illuminated from behind by the bright
sunlight, Wayne's shape was glowing ethereally and Timmy smiled up at him
whispering, "Wayne you look like an angel sitting there, I thought I'd died and
gone to paradise."
Wayne grinned at the young lad and said, "Hardly an angel Timmy, definitely no
angel mate."
James and Stuart grinned with self-satisfaction and laughed softly as they
hugged and kissed the younger teen.
