Chapter 12
Summer at The Beach

That summer Josh was invited to go on vacation to the Jersey shore with Maggie and her family. Ned and Maureen O'Malley (nickname Mo) had three children 2 older boys who had to work during summer break and Maggie. So having Josh around was like having another son in a way. On the beach and everywhere he always wore a T shirt. Maggie's mom was ever so diligent in applying sunscreen to everyone. With the T shirt Josh was able to avoid needing help and always did his own legs, arms, face and neck. Maggie thought it a bit strange but she left Josh to be himself. She knew she loved him and one day in the far future they would be married. On the second day after coming out of the water with Josh's T drenched with the salt water Mrs. O'Malley couldn't help but take control with her mothering instinct.

"Josh dear come here." She patted the blanket by her, asking him to sit down. Josh was in a quandary and basically had to do what she asked. Maggie was playing beach ball with her dad. Josh had just wanted to dry off.

"Let me help you take that wet shirt off and I'll put some sunscreen on your back."

Josh grabbed his shirt. "It's ok Mrs. O'Malley, really." There was a sense of panic in Josh's voice.

Mrs. O'Malley reached over and tugged at his shirt "Come on Josh don't be bashful."

"No don't, please don't" Josh pleaded

Head strong and Irish Mo' O'Malley had made up her mind and tugged the shirt up ignoring Josh's protests. It was a third of the way up and she saw the scars on the boys back. She immediately pulled it back down. Leaning over and hugging Josh from behind she started crying,

"I'm so sorry, so sorry" as the words came to her so did the awful newspaper story she had read about the two foster boys and the older one who had been beaten and raped.

"Oh Josh please forgive me, I can be a stupid headstrong woman. I am so sorry, honey, so sorry I'll never question your word again, I'm sorry."

Josh turned around and with the compassion that he always seemed to posess; wiped the tears of the older woman from her eyes. "Don't tell Maggie, please. Some day she will know, but today I don't want her or everyone on the beach thinking her boyfriend is a freak."

In a very quiet but firm voice Mrs. O'Malley said, "Josh O' Shay everyday Maggie says you are the kindest, most compassionate, and most caring person she has ever met. You are smart and strong and she dreams and so do I, of the day you will be married. My boy, your back may be scarred but your heart is as pure as can be. YOU ARE NOT NOW AND NEVER WILL BE A FREAK. Of course you'll tell Maggie in your own time and place. Please forgive, this meddling old woman."

"It's nothing you were just trying to be nice."

Maggie and Ned O'Malley joined them. Ned said, "Mother think we should be heading back. I wanna grab a shower and rinse this salt off of me then start the grill for those steaks we got."

"OK dear, that's a splendid idea. Do you think you can grill the corn on the cob too. Do you like corn on the cob, Josh?"

"Yes mam, I like to smother it in butter. My dad used to make it that way."

"Well corn on the cob it is then."

Dinner was great after Josh and Maggie came back from their walk on the beach. Ned and Mo were left to watch the sun dip over the horizon be themselves.

"Ned dear, I have something I have to tell you and you can never repeat it to anyone especially Maggie."

Ned sipped his beer and looked at his wife, "What is so secretive?"

Mo had tears in her eyes, "Just promise me Ned, please."

"Yes of course hon, now what is it?"

"Remember the terrible story in the paper about those 2 boys the one who protected his brother and got beaten and then raped by that terrible man."

"Yes"

"Josh is that boy Ned. I was being a stupid meddling old woman and lifted his T shirt and saw the terrible scars."

"Oh my gracious."

"I apologized like crazy and you know what he did he wiped my tears away and begged me not to tell Maggie. He didn't want her to think of him as a scarred freak. Can you imagine that? Not a word about his pain but only what Maggie would think of him."

"He dried your tears?"

"Well of course, as soon as I saw I knew I had betrayed him. I lifted his shirt over his protests, he even tried to hold it down to hide his back. Of course, I started crying; I was so ashamed of myself. Then, he said it was nothing. I was only trying to be nice. He is the sweetest boy, Ned."

"You can say that again and so brave to bear all of the torture from that man Brown. We can only treat him the best we know how, Mo. And love him all the more for it and for Maggie's sake."

Maggie and Josh walked along the edge of the water. There was a cool breeze now off the ocean. The waves lapped gently at their feet. "Hey big man, how come you are always wearing a T shirt. I wear a bikini to stir your juices. You don't want to stir mine and show some skin."

Josh gulped, he wondered if Maggie's mom had said something. He quickly figured not. "Maggie, it's because something bad happened to me and my back is not pretty but I'll show you my abs. Will that stir your juices?"

Maggie grabbed Josh's arm. With the greatest concern she asked, " what happened to you, Josh. Tell me please, you know I love you."

"Maggie, someday I will and that is a promise. When we are married and all naked in bed you'll know not yet. Can I leave it that it's bad and my back is not pretty, please. Please love me enough to wait until I'm ready to tell you. I so want you to be naked in bed with me. I know we can't now but I'm gonna go crazy waiting till we marry."

"Josh O'Shay you are so sexy when you talk like that. So ya got a bad back, big deal. We got better stuff to do. Your important parts are in your front." Maggie reached over and grabbed Josh by his pecker and ran down the beach like that. Josh of course had to follow. She found a hidden spot under a pier. Let go of his now hard cock took off her sweat shirt and her bikini top. Josh's eyes popped out of his head. She laid down on the warm sand. "Come on Josh let's practice that naked thing."

He lifted the front of his T over his head to the back of his neck. Most of his back was covered that way and laid down beside her. Maggie immediately rolled on top of him. Her perky young breast against his chest. She kissed him, her tongue exploring every bit of his mouth. She came up for air.

"How's this for naked, my lover boy. We just gotta lose our bottoms but you promise to keep that spear outside of me. Promse."

A weak, but enchanted Josh said, "It'll be so hard but I promise Maggie."

Maggie lost her bikini bottoms and took off Josh's swim suit.

"You keep your T Josh, I love you this way and I love being naked for you."

"Maggie I love you." Maggie rubbed herself on Josh. She loved him so. After a bit Josh said, "put your pussy on my mouth so I can love you that way." And he licked and sucked on it and she came and he did it more and she moaned as she had another organism, he didn't stop and again it happened.

"What will ever happen to me when you put your beautiful dick in me?"

"We'll make babies, lots and lots of babies"

Maggie now took his cock which was leaking precum like water out of a faucet, kissed it and twirled her tongue around it, then sucked it and pumped it until it exploded in her mouth. She swallowed every bit and licked it clean and kissed. "Someday your are gonna mix your white suff with my egg stuff big boy."

They laid their naked in their bliss. Josh said your father is gonna put a shotgun to me if I don't get you home. They scurried around and found their clothes. Went up on the boardwalk to inspect each other and cleaned up pretty good raced the half mile back to the beach house.

Ned asked, "You guys were gone a while?"

Maggie quickly answered, "We were doing somersaults in the sand daddy. Josh is terrible at them. We lost track of the time. Can we get Italian ices daddy? It's only 10:30 they are still open aren't they? How about you and mom what kind do you guys want."

"Make mine lemon dear," Mrs. O'Malley said.

"Lemon for me too," said her dad as he reached for his wallet.

Josh had slipped into his bedroom and got his own wallet. He listened to the conversation and was back out.

Mr. O'Malley was handing Maggie the money. Josh said, "Please let me get this little thing, you guys have been so good to me, gosh feeding me like a king and letting me come on this trip with my own bedroom. Please."

"Ned put your money away, our daughter's generous boyfriend has this one, thank you Josh. But truth be told we rent this house every year. Our boys are busy working for college so they couldn't come this year. So with the extra room we asked Maggie if she wanted to bring a friend and she picked you of course. Now you do eat your fair share but much less than our two college boys so we are way ahead on the deal. Ned here is a little tired of the amusement park rides and we would appreciate it if you would take Maggie and let us enjoy the sunsets."

"Now mother I still like the bumpy cars, but the roller coasters do mess with my stomach. Can I count on your help Josh."

"Of course, Mr. O'Malley."

Out the door to the ice cream shop the two teens went.

"I do like that boy, Mo. I hope he is a keeper."

"Well, all I know is that Maggie is planning her wedding already."

"You don't think she would do anything foolish, do you?"

"I think she might but I don't think Josh would. I'm guessing they are doing sexual stuff; gosh Maggie was absolutely glowing when she came in but Josh is very much in control. He won't let it go too far."

"I remember those days and they still come over me to the point I can't keep my hands off of you."

"Just do it quiet tonight dear, no sense adding to their already excited state."

"Yes my love."

The pier and the house was to become a favorite place for Josh and Maggie as the years moved forward, as well as the memories of Ned and Mo O'Malley.

Epilogue

Josh was elected the class president and valedictorian for his high school class. Mostly for his character and integrity besides his athletic accomplishment. He went on to a fantastic athletic career in college and was drafted by the New York Yankees. He played right field at first, then as a extraordinary relief pitcher. He played for 10 years. And in those years the Yankees were in the playoffs 9 times and won the world series 7 times. After the 10 years his back was too painful and he retired to little Pine Hill. A day was planned by the Yankees to celebrate his career. He wouldn't have it unless his POPS was there. In his speech he tipped his hat to Pops. In retirement he became a social worker for CPS then later the director. Of course, he married Maggie and had 6 beautiful children 4 boys and 2 girls. The boys were named Tim, Jimmy, Colin and Josh Jr.; the girls Margret (Maggie) and Maureen (Mo). He coached Little League, softball and Soccer. He loved it. He was also elected Governor and served two terms.

Jimmy like his big brother was also class president and valedictorian. When he went to give his speech he said, "Josh, just did this 2 years ago so whatever he said is cool. One thing though you teachers think this is the last of the O'Shea's; finally, no more of Jimmy's big mouth. Nope, we figured out how to make babies and we're gonna come back and fill this school with a whole bunch of little O'Shea's."

Jimmy went on to play shooting guard for the New York Knicks. He played 15 years winning 8 championships. He got his law degree in the off seasons and managed Josh's run for Governor which he won in a landslide. Jimmy married his high school sweetheart and had 5 boys, named Tim, Jimmy Jr., Colin, Josh and Robbie.

Jacky and Billy married and had 2 children with a surrogate mother; one fathered by Jacky and one by Billy. Mickey Morrano was God father to both. The 3 of them opened a hardware store and lumber yard and were pillars of the community.

John Elsberry followed in his grandfather's footsteps and became a general practitioner, doctor for little Pine Hill. He married Annette and had 3 boys Joe, Doc and Tommy.

Tommy (Specs) Elsberry followed his dad first as a teacher, then as a school principal then as Mayor of Pine Hill. Jimmy managed his campaign, too. The story was often told of Jimmy cleaning his glasses to win the championship of the 5th and 6th grade tournament. The town wanted to honor their 2 superstars, Josh and Jimmy but they declined but in doing all but demanded the town hall be renamed the Colin O'Brien town hall. Tommy with Jimmy's help got it done. The Gym was renamed the O'shea gymnasium and the high school baseball field was name O'Shea park.

Jimmy and Josh bought up all the land on either side of Colin's house and built two large homes for their families. The O'Brien estate was always a place of fun with constant barbecues and all sorts of games. Colin loved the little ones especially when they were joined by Robbie, Chris, Jason and his new husband Tony. As Colin grew older and less capable of taking care of things a little wing for Edna was built and she moved in to continue caring for him and her boys. Late one winter night Colin was in bed looking at picture albums of his boys and great grand kids; as was his custom he had a bit of red wine as a nightcap. He passed quietly in his sleep.

Colin's ashes were spread over the lake as were Edna's a couple of years later and the same was planned for Josh and Jimmy.

T
he End.
