Chapter 8
Thanksgiving & Sexy Stuff

Colin organized his first practice with the teams. He set it up to have half of each group with him working on fundamentals for 30 minutes; coach Mallary had the rest of them. He worked on shooting ball handling and defense. After practice, Coach Mallary asked what he thought of the group.

"I think you have some very quick and really fast boys here coach. We don't have a lot of height although Josh can jump like a jack rabbit or a kangaroo. I doubt there will any 5th or 6th grade teams that will be able to stop Jimmy from scoring. He really is amazing. For the 7th & 8th graders I would run a fast break offense with a zone defense augmented by a zone press. I think you are gonna win a lot of games if you play that style."

"Last year I played a slowed down offense with a straight zone defense. We are so overmatch by most of the other schools in the county, I just wanted to keep us in the game as long as possible."

Colin thought a minute and said, "I don't want any conflicts, you are the head coach whatever you say goes. So I'm gonna say my piece one time and leave it in your hands. I'm interested in winning not keeping the score close. Bigger stronger teams can be blitzed by smaller, quicker, ball hawking teams. That's what I would like to develop. Maybe we could incorporate both strategies, using the slow down game in the first half and the blitz game the second half. The zone press can be beat but coaches need to have their kids adapt. If we show it in the first half they'll have half time to make the adjustments. But if we save it they have to try to implement them with timeouts, much harder."

"I like that approach, being by myself I never had the time to implement more than one strategy."

"I'd also like to show the kids the film Housers, you know the little school that could."

"Excellent, I like it. Just maybe we can surprise some people this year Colin. Boy have I been waiting for this. You concentrate on the fast break and zone press; I'll work on the zone and the slow down half court offense."

Together they had a plan. Colin ran and ran the boys in his practices, every chance, every mistake had laps, laps, and more laps. Pitch out break and run; dribble drills and dribble races at full speed left and right handed; double teaming and trapping and ball hawking. Jacky, Billy, Josh and John were excellent at the fast break and zone defense. If coach Mallary was able to have the 8th graders stay close they would steal the game with a 2nd half blitz.

The first game was against Platsburg, the biggest school in the county. It was at Pine Hills home gym. The 5th and 6th grade teams played first. He held back the zone press defense so they wouldn't know of it for the varsity game. Pine Hill won going away by 12 points.

The varsity 7th & 8th graders were out to avenge the lost of their junior team. The slow down offense of Pine Hill frustrated them cause they wanted to run up the score. Every time they would come out of their zone to stop Pine Hill from playing catch; they got burned. They learned to stay home and their bigger players were prevailing on offense. At the half, Plattsburg held a 7 point lead. It all changed in the 2nd half when the zone press and the fast break blew Plattsburg away. The door mat of the league had beat the powerhouse erasing the 7 point half time deficit and posting a 5 point win. Jacky was the leading scorer as he lead the break. "Me too, this school is a lot more fun."

Josh so carefully slipped her panties on. "So I did it ok?"

"OK, OK yes you did it way better than ok. It was amazing and wonderful, thank you. You know a lot of boys once they came would have tucked it inside their pants and gone home. But you are different, that's why I did it for you, you are my boyfriend and I think we will be married someday."

Josh was putting his boy parts back in his pants.

"Wait" Maggie said. It was already half hard. She kissed Josh's pecker and tucked it away in his pants. By the time she was done. Josh was full hard again. She said, Ohh my he wants to do it again. Do we have the time."

"Maggie you don't know, I have a perpetual hard on when I am with you."

"Yeah well I am used to soggy panties too." She jumped into his arms and wrapped her legs around Josh's middle. "We are going to do this a lot and we are going to get better at it." She whispered into his ear.

"Let me inspect you, turn around." Maggie turned around. Josh remembered her bra. "Your bra didn't you feel it not being on."

Perky Maggie smiled her cutest, "You passed the test Josh, you are the best boyfriend."

"Put it in place, I'll do the clasp" and he reached under her blouse again. feeling the smooth skin of her waist, back and got the clasped latched.

"Yup perpetual hard on, I just gotta learn to live with it." Josh said.

Maggie smiled, "Give me a piggy back ride, big boy."

Maggie jumped on his back, he groaned a bit and put out his arms to hold her legs.

When they came into sight of the house Josh did one more inspection and cleaned dirt off his jacket and backside. She chided him for slapping her backside too hard.

They were just in time for lunch. They washed up and had open hot turkey sandwiches with gravy. Mmm delicious. Maggie helped Nana a bit by serving. She found Josh's Nana a most loving person and enjoyed her company.

While they were gone Jacky and Billy got with Jayson and Tony asking about what it was like to be gay. Jayson brought his dads into the conversation. So Jacky and Billy could hear from old timers as well as the young but matured college guys. Jimmy and Colin listened in, even Mrs. Galuchi had an ear to the conversation.

Chris said, "Well what it's it like to be human?"

"Come on please be real with us." Billy begged

"The thing is Billy, the question I raised is real. I know at your age, SEX is a very exciting subject as it will be somewhat less throughout your life. But do you allow your sexuality or your sexual orientation to define who you are as a person. Is that all you are a gay boy?"

"No."

"So you are a human being and you like all of us should have some ideals, goals of the kind of person you want to be. Sex, if you are lucky, going forward will be maybe an hour or so out of your day. What are you going to do with the other 16 or so hours left?"

"Now to be a gay boy or man is out of your control, either you are or you're not. So don't fret over it. Accept it like you accept the color of your eyes or hair. Be at peace with it because you are as God made you and he only makes good stuff."

"I got all that but what about how people treat you?" Jacky asked.

Robbie took that one. "Again it is out of your control but there can and should be consequences if you are discriminated against. That's why, I wanted to practice law. There are laws now that protect you and if needed you should use them. Not to get back but to protect another. Your true friends will treat you like any of their other friends. There will be some, who'll be different maybe more teasing, make you the butt of jokes and stuff. Then you have to make a decision to associate or not. If the teasing is infrequent and not mean but good natured you may accept it; if not, well do what you have to do."

"What about things we should or shouldn't do; you know enjoying ourselves."

Jayson put in, "what about anal stuff dads."

Chris said, "At your age I would not recommend it. You should wear a condom and be protected against disease. Not, so easy, for a 12 or 13 year old boy to purchase. You have to make sure your poop chute is 100% clean. Or else a dick can go in and come out all covered in shit."

Robbie added, "It can be very painful if proper precautions aren't made. Sure as a mature person, it can be very pleasurable but a lot goes into making that happen."

Tony asked, "what about oral?"

"There are little problems going oral, I mean be smart. If your buddy has the flu, you probably will get it too. Just like in any loving relationship you what to please your partner as much as be pleased by him. So touching, caressing, tickling, kissing even licking all those secret places will bring pleasure to both of you."

Josh and Maggie came in at that point and Nana called everyone for lunch.

After Edna asked, "Colin, will you boys be ok for dinner, I want to visit my sister as well as do a little black Friday shopping."

"Of course Edna, I think we'll get pizza tonight. It'll be a good change of pace. We'll do fine over the weekend, have a good visit with your sister. Say hello for us, tell her Shep is fine."

Jimmy walked his Nana out to her car. Josh stayed, going ga ga over Maggie. Jimmy liked doing it; she always seemed to appreciate it so. "We are going to see you on Monday right Nana"

"Yes, of course dear, I love being your Nana so much a tribe of Indians couldn't keep me away." She bent down to kiss him. He gave her a great big hug. He opened the car door for her.

"What did you think about all that gay guy talk?"

"Well, like Chris said they just gotta accept it. You love who you love. But I didn't like the part about getting my aaa aa boy part all pooped. I think I'll stick with girls. Don't tell Pops but I like it better when you kiss me than him."

"Bless you boy, I do love you. Come here I'll give you another big smooch."

Jimmy jumped at the chance. "I love you too, Nana."

They waved to each other as the car sped down the drive; both just a little sad that Nana had to leave.

They played Trivia Pursuit and other games the rest of the afternoon. The weather turned as the wind came out of the north again. He was quite cold for November. About 4:00 o'clock Billy and Jacky said it was time for them to leave to get home for supper. Well Billy did, Jacky knew his mom and dad would be working late at Walmart but didn't want to impose. He put on his light jacket.

Josh said "Wait a minute." He came back with his heavy jacket. "Wear this home and I'll get it tomorrow or Monday."

"Nah, I'll be alright."

Billy said, "Hey don't be so damn stubborn. Wear Josh's jacket." Turning to Josh "Jacky says thank you very much."

"Ok, Josh I guess Billy is gonna cause a scene if I don't wear it. Thank you so much it is cold out there."

"Good, I know what it is like to be cold, dumb to do it for your pride especially when there is no need."

Jacky hugged his friend then he and Billy were off.

Maggie said, "well that's like taken the shirt off your back for a friend."

Josh gave her a look like, "Jeez girl"

Pops said, "It was a good thing you thought of that Josh. He could catch his death out there now."

Jimmy said, "Shep's gonna have to pee all by himself tonight."

As usual everyone had a good laugh.

Pops warmed up the Tesla and all but Jayson and Tony went with them to drop off Maggie and get pizza. Josh was plenty warm in his sweatshirt. Josh gave Maggie a kiss on the cheek and a wink as her dad came to the door to wave to Colin.

"Pops can I use some of my state money to get a new jacket and let Jacky keep mine." Josh asked.

"That sounds mighty generous of you Josh." Robbie said.

"Hey his folks work real hard at that damn Walmart, they should pay more. He's a good friend and shouldn't be freezing cold when the weather is like this."

"Ya know you are right" Chris said. "But he is awful prideful. How are you gonna get him to keep your jacket?"

"Hmmm, I don't know yet."

Robbie volunteered, "I have an idea."

"Well, don't keep it to yourself."

"Ok, what if Josh sees a jacket he just loves, and we said we'll get it for him but he can't have two jackets. Jacky will be doing him a favor by keeping Josh's jacket so he can get a new one."

Chris kissed Robbie, "Genius, I knew there was a reason I married you besides your good looks.....Think it will work, Josh."

"I don't know, Jacky is awful smart, but it is the very best idea, Uncle Robbie . I wanna try it."

"What do ya say Colin...Can we go by the mall before the pizza."

"Ya sure, maybe call Jayson and Tony to say we'll be delayed."

"They'll probably love that," Jimmy said.

"How's that Jimmy?" Colin asked.

"What am I the only one with eyes? You guys didn't see how they were flirting and touching each other during the game. Ask if they wana use the time for sexy game stuff?"

They all laughed , "You know Jimmy I think you got something there." Chris said.

Josh called, Jacky, "Hey Jacky, I got a favor to ask."

"What bud?"

"My uncles are with me we are at the mall, we passed this jacket, I would die for. They really, really liked it on me."

"Yeah, so why are you calling me?"

"Well, they said it's dumb for me to have two jackets and I was hoping you would keep my old one it fits you good and then I could get the new one."

"This is some kind of sly game to get to keep your jacket. Isn't it? The jacket I have here is almost brand new. You left a tag on it dummy and it was expensive."

"Umm, yes and no. "

"what do ya mean?"

"Well yeah I need you to keep my jacket. It's getting cold and you need a warm coat. Your parents bust their butts all the time at that damn store. I need you not getting sick on the basketball team. My uncles have money and they want to spend it this way on me and I like the new jacket more than the old one. What'd say? It's good for both of us."

"I don't know, my dad says we may not have a lot of money but have our pride. He don't like takin' any charity. I already take lunch from your Pops and it's so good of him and I am grateful."

"Well my dad, said you help your friends and someday they will help you back. That's the way it works with friends. Tell your dad I lent it to you made you take for the ride home. If he asks again tell him, I wouldn't take it back cause I got a better one and Pops said I can't have two jackets. None of that is lies. Now are we friends or not?"

"You know I'm your friend Josh."

"Then next time you see me ask me to take back the jacket but when I say no you keep it. Please Jacky. Pride can be a good think or sometimes a stupid thing. Don't be mean to me Jacky cause of your or your dad's pride."

"Ok Josh, hey do me a favor?"

"What, don't try to sell me shares to the Brooklyn Bridge. Cripes I'd buy them from you."

Josh laughed, "Deal bud, thank you."

"The guy gives me a brand new jacket and says thank you to me for takin' it. NO JOSH THANK YOU !!!!!!"

"Want me to hug you instead for being my friend?"

"Nay Billy would get jealous. Thanks again,"

They hung up. Josh jumped up and down, "I DID IT, I GOT HIM TO KEEP IT."

"Good lad," Pops hugged him. Chris and Robbie said, "Way to go Josh !! knew you could do it."

Josh, Robbie, and Chris picked out in Macy's a real nice tan suede with a hidden hoodie and a big, white fur collar that you could zip up to your nose, the collar not zipped all the way made a Marlboro man look. Josh was pleased as punch. Everyone said he deserved it for the sell job he did on Jacky to get him a heavy jacket.

Pops asked how come Jacky was not on the free lunch program. Josh said, "he is supposed to be but there is a screw up and the lady said he couldn't get it. He didn't want his folks having to go down there for it. His father would be all embarrassed."

"Well I'm glad you are bringing him lunch but I'm gonna ask Joe Elsberry to look into it. Sounds like someone could be scamming the school board."

They got the pizza and hurried home so it would not get cold. Jayson and Tony didn't hear the car pull up. And when the door opened went scurrying for their clothes.

"See, see I told ya they were all horny," Jimmy yelled.

Together as if on que, "RIGHT YOU WERE JIMMY!!"

Robbied, adding to the embarrassment, called, "Jayson, Tony dinner is served, come as you are, all boys here!!!"

"Be right there, one sec, Dad."
