(Off to Los Angeles)
My Dear Son, Tom,
I can't describe how I felt when I heard your voice the other day for the first time in years. It sounded like church bells ringing. Just to know that you are well, safe and happy was music to my ears. But the conversation was so short, that it was impossible for me to tell you everything that was in my heart, so I needed to write to you. My dear friend Russ instructed me in how to create a letter on his computer and then attach it to an E-Mail. I must tell you that your dad is completely and utterly computer illiterate.
I know you forgave me for my irrational attitude toward you, when you and Carl came out to your mother and me, but I must plead with you, and beg you once again to forgive me. In my ignorance, and in my love for your mother, I could not believe that two men (or two women for that matter) could actually fall in love. I believed incorrectly that any homosexual act was an act of lust, and that ‘real’ love could not possibly exist between two people of the same sex. Of course I know now that I was very, very wrong.
You must also believe that your mother and I never stopped loving you, but as each day passed, and I did not call you and ask for your forgiveness, it got harder and harder for me to do so. Your mother remained loyal in her love and obedience to me and would not call you behind my back. She begged me to call you, and I kept refusing. Don’t ask me why. Lord knows I wanted to call. I can only say I was a stubborn old fool.
When your mother became ill, I retired early to care for her. Finally I accepted her pleas and attempted to reach you in San Diego, but the number was disconnected. I had no idea how easy it was to find someone on the internet until Russ did it for me in just a few minutes. I am more ashamed now than ever.
Russell, dear Russ! He was in a loving and monogamous relationship for as long as your mother and I were together. We each met our life partners on the first day of college. We even went to the same university. We lost our loves to cancer on the very same day, almost to the hour. How could I know that he mourned as deeply as I? How could I know that he had loved Andrew as much as I had loved your mother? It was all beyond my realm of comprehension
Russ and I met, of all places, at a bereavement group. Neither of us was sure why we went. We certainly had no expectations that our grief would be assuaged by this group, but there we were. We were introduced and we shook hands. We both held on to each other way longer than was appropriate. While I was holding his hand, there was a fire shooting through me like I had never felt before. I know now that it was love at first sight, but at that time such a thought was incomprehensible to me. Now Russ tells me that the same thing happened to him. I could never explain any of this to a straight man, but I sure hope you and Carl can relate to some of what I felt when I first laid eyes on Russ.
From that first evening on, we began to ‘hang out’ together. We had dinners together, went to movies, planned to go to the theater and to the opera together, and it was obvious to both of us that being apart was pure torture. An act of God finally sealed our union. We were snowbound in Russell’s apartment for four days. It was impossible for us to hide our love anymore. We wanted each other, plain and simple. So I’ll come out and say it, son, hard as it is for me to put it into words. Russ and I made love to each other almost constantly in those four days. Notice I did not say we had sex. To say that would be to belittle what we have together. I’m pretty sure, you and Carl can understand.
I never cheated on your mother. I loved her passionately, but now I am moving on. My life will be completely different I know. Russ is guiding me through and I hope to have your love and support as well. I need all the love I can get from those I love the most. What others say is of no consequence to me. All I need right now is Russ, you and Carl, the three people I love most in the world.
Russ and I will be arriving LAX a week from Wednesday at 1 PM on United flight 632. Please let me know if you can meet us or if we should take a cab. It would also be great if you could take a day or two off from work. Russ said to tell you that he never had a son and he wants to spoil you and Carl silly. He said it as a joke, but I am beginning to think he meant it.
I can’t wait to see you and hug the breath out of you and Carl. All my love to both of you, and Russ says, ‘me too.’
Dad.
Russ showed Art how to attach the letter to an E Mail and he sent it off.
After the initial call, Art kept calling his boys just to hear their voices and to obtain all the information he had neglected to get on his initial call. One of those items was Tom’s E-Mail address. It was Russ who had to remind him because he was truly computer illiterate.
That evening Russ checked his E-Mail and there was a letter from Tom:
Dear Dad:
I can’t repeat often enough that there is nothing to forgive. Just knowing that I have my father back is more than enough to make my life complete. I will admit, however, that you did hand me a couple of jolts.
When you told me that Mom had passed, I was saddened, but somehow I was not surprised. I had a premonition (probably my feminine side) that she had died just about the time she actually did. That doesn’t mean that I don’t mourn for her, because I do. And when you tell me that neither of you stopped loving me, that’s enough to help us bury the past and celebrate the future.
The greater jolt is letting me know that you are in a loving, gay relationship. You are so right. Carl and I can relate to that. We are fortunate to own an investment management business together, and so we are together night and day. If we weren’t together all day, I would be unable to work, just thinking about him and wanting to be with him. We make love (call it what you will) often, but that’s not the important thing in our relationship. What’s important is having each other to lean on, to love, to caress, to enjoy life with. Dad, my soul would be dead without Carl.
If you feel the same way about Russ as I do about Carl, and I can tell that you do, then he must be one hell of a guy. I’ll bet he’s handsome too. I always thought of you as one hot dude, Dad. I’ll bet you didn’t know that? I guess that’s something you can’t tell a straight father. (I’m smiling.)
Carl and I are going to take off work from Wednesday afternoon to Sunday. We have made all the arrangements. After that, we’ll play it by ear. I can’t wait to show you our house, our office and as much of our LA playground as we can. Since you are both retired, maybe we can even talk you into moving to LA, the land of sunshine. Sorry, I’m way ahead of myself.
Not to worry, we’ll be at the airport to meet you. I almost feel like driving there right now and waiting for you. You see I am going mad with anticipation. We love both you and Russ with all our hearts.
Your loving sons, Tom and Carl
Art read the letter over and over and cried anew at each reading. Russ finally had to tell him to knock it off or he’d have him bawling like a baby too. By now Russ knew how to handle things when Art got so emotional. He simply threw his arms around Art and let his hand wander down to Art’s crotch. The rest was easy.
When Russ had been with Andy, they never wore clothes around the house. Art was happy to adopt this habit, but he had one exception. When they were preparing food and eating, he insisted that they have shorts on. “I get this horrible vision of pubic hair flying into all the food,” he told Russ by way of explanation.
So when Russ went over to console Art where he was sitting, they were both naked. As Russ’s hand rested on Art’s cock and he began to stroke it, Art turned his head toward Russ to find Russ’s very erect rod right in front of his lips. Art devoured his partner’s beautiful cock and began to suck with all the love he had in him.
“Damn, you’re getting good,” Russ told Art, but let’s take this to the bedroom. Art released Russ and hand in hand they literally ran to the bedroom.
They stood at the conveyer belt in baggage claim, impatiently waiting for their luggage to reach them. Where were the suitcases? Why the fuck was it taking so long? Art was getting ready to scream when Russ said, “There’s mine and there’s yours a couple of cases behind mine.” They grabbed their suit cases and ran outside to where there were banks of waiting taxis. They had to decline several offers to hire a cab.
As soon as they had landed, they had called the boys on Carl’s cell phone. Carl said to call his phone because Tom never remembered to take his with him. He told them to look for a gray Lexus. They would keep driving by the arrivals terminal until they saw each other.
Art started another round of paranoia. “Where are they? They couldn’t have forgotten. They just told us they are on the way.”
“Relax, sweetheart,” Russ said. “They said they had to keep circling the airport. That’s a considerable distance.” Art calmed down a bit and then Russ yelled, “Hey, there’s a gray Lexus just coming around the bend.
As it rounded the bend, the Lexus slowed down and then pulled as close to the curb as traffic permitted. Carl was driving and Tom jumped out. He ran to Art and engulfed him in his arms. Art hugged him back, hard. Neither of them spoke a word and then Tom shocked Art. He started to kiss him all over his face and especially on his lips. Then the tears began to flow from both of them. In the meantime, Carl opened the trunk and then jumped out of the car.
“You must be Russ,” he said as he hugged Russ and Russ hugged back. Carl grabbed a couple of bags and placed them neatly in the trunk. Then he put the carry-ons in the trunk as well. As he closed the trunk, he said, “Let’s get going guys. The cop is waving us on. Tom, honey, you sit in the back with your father, and Russ can sit up here with me.”
Art and Tom did as Carl had bidden them. Once everyone was seated, Carl started for home. Tom reached forward from the rear seat and kissed Russ on the cheek. “It’s fantastic to meet you,” he said.
Neither Art nor Russ had been to Los Angeles before so their sons pointed out interesting things along the way, particularly the ‘Hollywood’ sign in the hills. For most of the trip, they traveled through business streets and avenues, but at some point, Carl turned off on a residential side street and the scenery changed dramatically. The streets were lined with very old shade trees, and the houses (more like mini mansions) were set back some distance from the road. Each of the houses had its own security fence.
“Wow,” Russ uttered, “is this the neighborhood where you live?”
“Yep,” Carl said. “This section of LA is called Hancock Park. It’s pretty old, and I like to think of it as having been the Beverly Hills of LA before there was a Beverly Hills.” As he said this he turned into a driveway and pushed a button on a gadget attached to the sun visor. A security gate swung slowly open. When they were safely beyond the gate, Carl pushed the button again and the gate swung shut. He parked immediately behind a duplicate Lexus except that this one was red. Art and Russ saw that the house was Mediterranean style, two stories, at least one hundred years old, and it looked huge. The lawn was neatly manicured. Bushes, flowering plants and trees abounded.
The car was parked next to a side entrance door. Tom unlocked the door as Art, Russ and Carl unloaded the trunk. They entered into a mud room which contained a washer and dryer, shelving containing laundry detergents, anti static cloths, and in the corner stood a water fountain. To the right of the mud room was a small room outfitted with two desks, two computers, file cabinets, and a small bathroom.
“This was a maid’s room once,” Tom explained, “but we made it into a home office.” To the left was the hugest kitchen Art had ever seen. It was bigger than Russ’s whole apartment. It actually had two center islands and one of them had a second sink. Dozens of pots and pans hung from the ceiling. Extending from the kitchen was a dining area with a pantry the size of Russ’s bedroom. The dining area had French doors which led to a family room that had to be thirty feet long. The family room also had French doors which led to a huge back yard with a patio, patio furniture, and a built into the ground barbeque. The entire back wall of the family room was glass. Besides the usual family room furniture, stereo and TV, there was a treadmill in one corner.
Beyond the dining area there was a library filled with books on three walls, from floor to ceiling. All of this was at the back end of the house. Carl and Tom took them through a small hallway off the dining area which led to the main entrance. A beautiful crystal chandelier hung over a table in the center of the foyer. A vase with flowers graced the table. On each side of the front door were two smaller doors. Behind these doors were two walk-in front hall closets. On one side of the foyer was a dining room. The room had a dining room table set up with twelve chairs. Along the walls were two serving cabinets and a china cabinet. On the other side of the foyer was the living room. It housed a Steinway grand piano in one corner, a fireplace and expensive antique furniture. Both the dining room and living room had beautiful heavy drapery and highly glazed hardwood floors. There was another small door off the foyer which led to a powder room.
Russ thought, “These boys have plenty of money.”
Then they went upstairs. At the top of the stairs was a very huge linen closet. Next to that was the entrance to the master bedroom. Art thought that the bedroom looked more like a ballroom. There was a private bathroom off the master bedroom and two walk in closets. A door in the bedroom led to an outside terrace.
As you rounded the bend from the stair case, there were two bedrooms at a ninety degree angle from each other. One was used as the guest bedroom and the third bedroom was set up as a media room. Another bathroom served both these rooms and could be reached from either room, but the entry from the media room was always locked. Art and Russ were impressed that the boys had a media room upstairs and one downstairs.
Russ and Art were overwhelmed. Art said, “From your description of sleeping arrangements, I pictured a small California bungalow. This is amazing.”
“I hoped you’d like it,” Tom said, and hugged his father once again. “It’s fifty-two hundred square feet, and we use every inch of it.”
They had brought the luggage upstairs with them and placed it in the guest room. Carl said, “The walls are concrete and nine inches thick. They’ve been through many an earthquake. The important thing is that you can make all the noise you want, and we won’t be able to hear you.”
“And vica versa,” Russ added with a wink. They all got the joke and laughed.
“Let’s go out on the patio,” Tom suggested. “I’ll make some lemonade and we can talk for a while. Later on we can all shower and we’ve made dinner reservations for tonight at our favorite restaurant.”
When they were all seated outside and the sun was warming Art’s and Russ’s winter bones, Art said to Tom, “Do you remember how shy and reserved I was about nudity in the house?” Tom smiled and nodded, yes. “Well, Russ is somewhat of a naturist and I’ve adopted his habits. We never wear clothes around the house.” He had no idea why he said that.
Carl and Tom looked at each other and broke out laughing. “That goes for us too,” Carl said. “We were lamenting the fact that we would have to wear clothes in the house during your stay. But now, if you don’t mind, we’d like to do what comes naturally.”
“By all means,” Russ said, “but Art has one reservation. He envisions pubic hair flying into his food so when we prepare food and eat it, he makes me wear shorts.”
“Why don’t you do what we do?” Tom asked. “We shave off all our pubic hair. Problem eliminated! It feels much cleaner when we are making love too.” He regretted saying that immediately. He looked at Art and turned beet red.
Art laughed and assured all present that they should be themselves and talk naturally. They would all be more comfortable if they didn’t have to worry about ‘slipping up.’
Tom wanted to know once again how Art and Russ had met and at what point his dad realized he was in love with a man. It seemed that he would never tire of hearing this story. Art and Russ held hands as they alternated telling the story. By the end of it Carl and Tom were wiping tears from their eyes.
Then Art did something astonishing. It even astonished Russ. He looked directly at Carl and Tom and said, “I’m going to answer the question you both want to ask but you’re afraid to do so. I know you both want to know how I felt and how I was able to handle the first time I touched a man’s penis and he touched mine.”
Tom’s mouth dropped open and he made an audible gurgling sound.
“Well, I’ll tell you,” Art continued. “I couldn’t get enough of it. It was wonderful and it felt wonderful. I can’t tell you if I would have felt the same way with another man, but the guy touching me, and the guy I was touching, was the guy that I am madly in love with. Why shouldn’t that make me feel good? I think that love is the secret ingredient to good sex.” Russ jumped up, embraced Art and kissed him full on the lips as Tom and Carl cheered.
The restaurant they went to that evening was gay owned and at least seventy-five percent of the diners there were gay. Most of them were men, but there were some women as well. Tom and Carl seemed to know everyone. They kept introducing Art and Russ to their friends. When Tom would say, “This is my father, Art, and his partner, Russ,” more than one eyebrow was raised in surprise. Art and Russ were getting a kick out of it and wondered if Tom and Carl were noticing it as well.
The air was cool when they left the restaurant, but not cold. It was winter after all. To Russ and Art the temperature was perfect, and Art reflected on Tom’s letter where he asked if they might not like to move here. He said nothing about it, but vowed to look into housing before they left, if it was all right with Russ of course.
Art and Russ were still on central time, and awoke much too early the next morning. They brushed their teeth, shaved and showered. They took the time to shave their pubic hair in the shower as their sons had suggested. They decided to go downstairs and get everything set for breakfast. As was their habit they did not dress. Pubic hair was not a problem this morning.
As Russ set the table and Art prepared the coffee for brewing, they heard the boys showering upstairs. Russ took out some eggs from the fridge and greased a couple of frying pans. He didn’t know how the boys liked their eggs so he stopped short of cooking them. He also found some bagels in the freezer which he defrosted in the microwave oven. He set them on the table with butter and jam.
Tom and Carl came downstairs as nude as their fathers. “We thought we heard you here,” Tom said. “My gosh, you have everything ready.” In the same breath he said, “And I see you’ve shaved off your pubes.” Everyone laughed.
“And while we are at it,” Tom wanted to know, “I see you are both circumcised. Dad, I’ve always wanted to know why you didn’t cut me since you were cut.”
“At the time your father and I were born, boys were routinely circumcised,” Russ explained.
“I didn’t cut you, Tom, because I personally thought it was barbaric and the thought of someone hurting my little boy actually angered me,” Art added. Art could not help but notice that Carl was uncut also.
Carl made the eggs scrambled, and he toasted the bagels. The coffee hit the spot and Carl said, “You guys got everything ready so we’ll clean up. Why don’t you go sun bathe in the back yard? It’s perfectly private. Nobody can see you.” It was the middle of February and Art and Russ thought it was really wonderful to be able to sun bathe. They took the boys up on the offer and went out to the patio.
While Carl was rinsing and loading the dishes in the dishwasher, Tom looked out the glass wall in the family room. He called to Carl. “You’ve got to see this.” he said. The boys looked into their back yard. Art and Russ were squeezed together on one lounge chair, facing each other. Not only were their tongues dueling, but their obviously very erect cocks were dueling also. Carl began to get an erection and Tom gave it a friendly swat with a dish towel.
“Don’t judge me,” Tom told
Carl. “When I first started whacking off, I used to fantasize about having sex
with my father. He was always so hot to me.”
“He still is,” Carl noted. “He and Russ look years younger than they are. Why,
they could pass as our brothers.”
“I know. They’re both so lean and buff, and boy, their asses are still bubble shaped. I’m getting so hot looking at them,” Tom sighed.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Carl asked.
“Yes, but do we dare?” Tom answered
“Well, they might love it, and if they don’t, what’s the worst thing that could happen? They stop us and get on the next plane to Minneapolis.”
Carl and Tom looked at each other. They both had raging hardons and ran outside. Russ and Art were so enrapt in their game playing that they were unaware of what the boys were doing. They both sat down on the grass on each side of the lounge, and Carl began to lick Russ’s crack while Tom did the same to his father.
The fathers froze. Russ was the first to speak. “Why you little fuckers,” he said with a shit eaten grin on his face. Art was too shocked to speak. But he was getting used to shocks, and what Tom had just done to him had really turned him on.
Art and Russ got out of the lounge and began to wrestle with their boys on the grass. Art found himself facing Tom. They were hugging each other. Their erections were playing tag.
They lay still for a few moments. Tom began to fear that his father would have regrets and they would lose everything they had just recaptured. He looked at his father and said simply, “I love you.” Then he began to kiss Art passionately, tenderly, sensuously. “I used to fantasize having sex with you when I was a kid,” Tom confessed to Art.
“You know,” Art said to Tom, “Russ has taught me a lot about how to make love to another man, but there is one thing I learned all by myself. When you fall in love with someone, spiritually and emotionally, it’s not possible to put that love into words. I think even the great poets had difficulty with it. I have learned that the best way to tell someone how much you love them is to express your love physically.”
With that he rolled Tom over on his back and fell on to his crotch. He took Tom’s cock into his mouth and got it good and wet. Then he straddled his son, reached behind him and grasped Tom’s cock. He directed it against his waiting love canal and sat down letting Tom enter him slowly. When Tom was fully inserted, Art began a steady rhythm of love making.
In the meantime, Carl and Russ saw what was happening and joined the happy, but oblivious couple. Russ straddled his body across Tom’s face and guided his throbbing cock into Tom’s waiting mouth. Carl came up next to Art and inserted his rod into Art’s eager mouth. It was another new experience for Art. This was the first time he tasted an uncircumcised cock. He knew enough to peel back the fore skin and go gently on the sensitive head. Carl reached down and enveloped Art’s cock with his hand and started stroking it. Just as if Art was the first violinist in a symphony orchestra, they all adjusted their stroking to Art’s pumping rhythm.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, Tom’s cock was gliding along Art’s prostate and he could not control himself. Art came in copious gushes. Most of it dribbled onto his abdomen. When he came his sphincter contracted and that brought Tom to his climax. He came in several spurts high up Art’s ass. Most of it dribbled out and mixed with Art’s cum. When Tom came, he sucked Russ harder and that brought Russ to his climax, followed shortly by Carl.
The four of them lay in a tangled heap on the grass trying to catch their breaths. Finally Carl said, “I think we should shower and dress so we can get going.”
“Why rush,” Art said. “I’m perfectly content right here.”
“No, Carl’s right. We should get the day going. We’ll have plenty of time for love later,” Tom said. They all stood up and Tom opened up his arms. “Group hug,” he demanded. They all hugged each other as their limp cocks played with one another.
The next few days were incredible. They went to Tom’s and Carl’s office and met their staff. They did a lot of sight seeing. They ate dinner at good restaurants, watched television, played board games and generally they all became good friends. But the nights were best. They made love in every combination, and sometimes in threes and sometimes all four of them found ways to pleasure each other. They sucked and fucked whatever cock or ass was closest, but when it was time to go to sleep, Art slept with Russ and Tom slept with Carl. Nobody loved anybody less. They all loved more.
They went house hunting and Art and Russ bought a small bungalow together about a mile and a half from their sons’ home.
They booked a flight home with their open ended tickets, and as soon as they got there, Art put his house on the market. It sold in six weeks. Russ was on a month to month tenancy and he gave fair notice.
They sold their cars with the intention of trying to get along with one new one in LA. They were never apart, they reasoned, so one car would suffice, and if circumstances changed they could always buy another one later on.
They spent hours deciding what they would take with them, and donated all the rest to charity. The movers stopped first at Russ’s apartment and then at Art’s house. As soon as the moving truck left, they took a cab to the airport to make their flight to LA. They stayed with their sons until the truck arrived a week later.
By now, any reticence the four of them may have had was long gone. Their love making was intense and very hot. They sucked and fucked each other like it was the last time for each of them. The more they loved each other, the more intense became the love making. It was a happy time for all.
If anyone had told Art just a few short weeks ago how his life was headed, he would have laughed long and hard at that someone, and might have had him committed.
If someone had told Russ just a few short weeks ago, that his loneliness would soon be ended, he would have sneered.
If someone had told Carl and Tom that not only would Tom be reunited with his father, but that he and his father would become lovers, they would have laughed hysterically. Nevertheless it all happened.
It started with a snowstorm and ended in a land of forever sunshine.
The End…..
