Chapter 4
Carl preceded us to Montana by almost two months. He was on a month to month tenancy, but we had to sell our house in the suburbs, which took a while. Dad gave him his power of attorney, and he closed on the property in Montana. The old owner stayed with him for a month and introduced him to all his suppliers. He also introduced Carl to his customers, who were mainly Native American Arapahos. Carl informed us that he was warmly greeted, and wished good luck by everyone who came into the store. He even told them that his partner would be down soon, and nobody seemed shocked. Maybe they thought he meant his business partner, which Dad was also. We were to find out that some Native American tribes had different views about homosexuality than our pious, holier than thou, Christian brethren.
Dad and I moved out west late in August, and I was enrolled in my junior year in high school. I had butterflies on my first day, but I needn’t have worried. The girls were all over me. After all, I was the new boy in town, and good looking at that. The boys were happy that I planned on trying out for the football and baseball teams, and included me in their banter immediately.
There was one Arapaho boy in my class, however, who kept giving me the eye. Every time I glanced his way, he turned his face quickly away. I didn’t take it personally. I could tell that he didn’t mix well with any of his other school mates. At lunch, he chose to sit by himself. He made no attempt to be sociable.
I have to admit that he fascinated me. I wasn’t experienced enough to realize that I was somehow sexually attracted to him. He was at least two inches taller than I. His wide set eyes were almost jet black, and his ebony hair was straight, and long, and tied in the back. He nose was slim compared to most Native Americans I had seen in pictures. His cheekbones were high, but not abnormally so. He was very handsome even by Caucasian standards. He would have been even better looking, if his face was not so dark and brooding.
I made up my mind that I would try to gain his friendship, so on the second day of school, I sat down at his table during lunchtime break. He looked very uncomfortable, but when I stuck out my hand and introduced myself, he smiled and shook my hand.
“Timothy?” he questioned me. “Like the saint?” I wondered if he was a Christian.
“Yes,” I smiled, and what’s your name.
“Wolf,” he answered. I didn’t dare ask if he had a surname. This was progress enough.
Sitting so close to Wolf, I was surprised to find that he had an aroma. It was far from unpleasant. It reminded me of the forest. I could swear that he smelled like pine trees.
Without thinking, I said, “You smell real nice.” I could have kicked myself. What if Wolf thought that I was coming on to him?
He broke out into a big grin. “Thanks,” he said.
We ate the rest of our meal in silence. When the dismissal bell rang after our last class of the day, we walked out of the building together. “I’ll see you tomorrow,” he whispered to me, and ran out of sight. He ran so fast, I wondered if he was on the track team, but I dismissed that idea. Wolf was not a social mixer. He was the ultimate definition of a loner.
After Wolf left, I went to see the football coach with one of my classmates who was on the team. The coach threw a few balls at me, and I tossed some back, and just like that I made the team.
That evening after the store was closed, and after Carl, Dad and I had consumed our dinner and cleaned the kitchen, I did not join them in bed as I usually did. I told them I was too tired from football practice.
“Too bad,” Carl laughed. I wanted to research the next chapter of my “how to” book. We all broke out laughing.
The truth is that I could not get Wolf out of my mind. His aroma remained with me until I swear I could actually smell his essence filling our small house. I tossed and turned for hours in bed before I could fall asleep.
The next day in school was ordinary. I had lunch with Wolf again. The other students were surprised, but they were not angry at me, nor did they care to ostracize me. They were simply shocked. Wolf had never let anyone into his life before.
He told me that he was an only child, and lived with his mother and father outside the reservation. There was a school on the reservation, but his father wanted him to get a mainstream education, and enrolled him in a public school. Some of the tribal elders were angered by this act of rebellion, but his parents didn’t care. Apparently, they were as much outside the loop as Wolf was.
I told him that my brother and mother were killed in an auto accident, and my dad and I had to get away from the scene of the carnage. I now lived with him and his partner. Everyone in town believed that Dad and Carl were business partners, but just as if he was inquiring the time of day, Wolf asked me if they were gay. That stopped me short. I decided not to lie.
“Yes,” I said, “but I don’t want to out them. It’s their job to do that, so please don’t spread it around.”
“Of course not,” Wolf answered me, “but it’s not a terrible thing. The great spirit blesses such unions.”
Well three cheers for the Arapahos, I thought.
It was time to return to class, so we ended our tete a tete. I realized that Wolf and I had confided in each other like two old friends. I could not concentrate on my classes all the rest of the day. That evening I did not shun sex with my parents, but alone in bed after the love making, I could not get Wolf out of my mind. He said that being gay was no big deal. Could it be that he was a kindred soul. I felt strongly that I would love to find out, and I began to create imaginary scenarios where Wolf and I could be alone together.
The next day Wolf was not in school. Andy, the boy who introduced me to Coach Baker, told me that Wolf never showed up on the day of the full moon. It was a big joke in school that Wolf and his parents were werewolves. To let me know that he didn’t share that fairy tale, he broke out laughing, so I laughed with him, but I had my doubts.
Wolf showed up to school the next day, but he looked terrible, like he hadn’t slept at all. I told him that he looked like he needed eight hours in the sack, but he shrugged it off.
Our last class of the day was chemistry. Mr. Wright, our chem teacher, broke us into teams of two, and assigned each team a project, which we had to complete by Thanksgiving. I couldn’t believe my good fortune. I was teamed with Wolf. Mr. Wright assigned us alphabetically, and I found out that Wolf’s surname was Coldfoot. Hence Cole and Coldfoot were a pair.
As soon as class was over, I asked Wolf to meet with me to discuss the project and how to proceed. I hinted that I wouldn’t mind going to his house and meeting his parents, but in his usual manner, he shocked the pants off me by asking to come to my house so he could meet my father and his partner. “You see,” he said, “I have never met any gay people and I would love to meet your folks.”
I had no objection. This was better than I hoped for. During the course of the chemistry experiment, I looked forward to spending many hours with Wolf. I wanted him to feel perfectly at ease with me and my family. We agreed that he would come into the store early Saturday afternoon to buy some staples and provisions for his family, and then afterward we could discuss the project in my home. The minute I pictured us alone, preferably in my bedroom, I started to get hard, and I had to say a quick goodbye to Wolf. Every time I was with him, it got harder and harder for me to keep my hands off him. My growing lust prompted me to make a decision.
I decided to wait until we were truly alone, and I would come out to Wolf, and let him know how I felt about him. I wasn’t afraid. He himself told me that his people considered gay persons to be especially blessed. I prayed I could hold out and not tip my hand for a few more days.
The time passed slowly, but it passed, as it always does. Wolf was the first customer in the store on Saturday morning. I had clued Carl and Dad in on the dual purpose of his visit. I introduced him to them, and the three men greeted each other warmly. In fact, I got another shock. Carl and Dad hugged Wolf, and Carl winked at me. He was trying to tell me something. I hoped it was his gaydar telling me to go for it.
Carl took Wolf’s shopping list, and told us to go do our work. He promised to have everything bagged for the young Arapaho when we were done. Wolf and I rushed into the house and into my bedroom. I shut and locked the door. I never locked my door before. I was in a frenzy, and I expected that, but what I wasn’t expecting was that Wolf was similarly inclined.
We stood and stared at each other, and I came out with it. I threw my arms around my unsuspecting schoolmate, and hugged him tightly. I felt his body stiffen, and for one moment I wondered if I was doing the right thing. Nonetheless, I blurted out, “Wolf, I’m gay, and I have very strong feelings for you.” I wasn’t ready to tell him that I loved him.
He pushed me away, and I immediately regretted my rash actions. He could read the fear in my face, so he stroked my cheek lightly, and whispered softly, “I love you also. Carl picked up that I was gay. I saw him wink at you. Tim, if you really love me, you’ll stay a million miles away from me.”
“Why?” I cried out.
“We can never be together,” he said, and dropped his eyes to the floor.
“I don’t care that we come from two different races,” I sobbed. “I love you, and that’s all that should matter.”
“It isn’t a race issue,” he cried also.
“Then tell me what it is, and together we can fix it.”
“It can’t be fixed,” he stated adamantly. “Let’s just discuss the project, and I’ll get on home.”
As he spoke to me, I could see that he was getting more and more agitated. The more agitated he became, the stronger the odor of forest pine trees pervaded my room. The aroma made me heady. I sat down on my bed. I had no idea what was happening to me.
“You’re not fair,” I said at last. “You can’t ask me to turn love on and off like a faucet. Whatever your dark secret is, we can work through it. I don’t want to be corny, but love conquers all.”
I jumped off my bed, and before Wolf could stop me, I embraced him in a bear hug, and began to kiss him. At first he resisted. He tried to turn his face away from me, but as my kisses got more and more urgent, he began to respond to my love making. I felt his hard cock against mine, and I reached down and engulfed it in my hand through his shorts.
“Please,” I begged, “let’s get naked.”
“Now you’ll understand,” he croaked out. He ripped off his shirt and I gasped. His chest and back were covered with hair.
“No big deal,” I lied. “We can shave it off.”
“It’ll all grow back very quickly. It’s a curse. My father is the same way.”
I ran my hands through his furry hair. I had a dog when I was a baby, and I was reminded of when I used to pet him. He had been my dad’s dog. He was very old, and he died when I was still quite young.
“Don’t you understand? I don’t care,” I assured him. “I just want to make love to you. I’m very good. I’ve been taught by experts.” Wolf knew what I meant. He looked awestruck.
I rubbed his cock harder through his trousers. “Please,” I begged, “let’s get undressed.
Wolf seemed to be in a trance. He wanted this as much as I did. We both undressed quickly. His cock protruded through his thick pubic hair, hard, fat and long. I am well endowed, but he was half again as big as I.
I didn’t have a private bathroom, so I made a decision to start with Chapter Two, oral sex. I figured that next time we could plan a more leisurely liaison, and we could start with a shower. I rationalized that it was good to skip the shower this time. After all, I didn’t want to give him time to change his mind.
I fell to my knees, pushed back his mop of pubic hair, and his foreskin, and took about one-third of his manhood into my mouth. After a very few strokes, his buttocks rose from the bed, and he began to spurt buckets of semen into my mouth. When he came, he really scared me. He began to wail, and it sounded to me like the wail of a wolf or a coyote.
To be continued…
