Chapter 38

Death Strikes

“Okay, who’s taking me to Uncle Barry’s house?” Beau asked.

The doorbell rang and Jason answered. “Hi Mrs. Davis, may I help you?”

“Yes, I’d like to speak with Jeff and Beau.” she said.

The two guys realized that something was wrong.  Beau took her to the couch and held her.  “What’s wrong Grandma Davis?”

“Mr. Davis died in his sleep this afternoon.  He went peacefully.  He spent yesterday planning his funeral and he asked me to bring this envelope to you two young men.  I really don’t know all of the details in the letter, but I do know this will tell you what he would like you two wonderful young men to do.  The funeral will be Saturday at the church.”

She handed an envelope to Jeff.  He read the letter and then handed it to Beau.

Beau read it and took a deep breath and said, “We’ll make sure that Spencer and Chip are there.  Jeff, go to Uncle Barry’s house and get the two guys.  “I’m going to fix Grandma Davis something to eat.  I think she is running on empty.”

Everyone was watching Jeff and Beau work their magic.  Jeff left and Beau said, “D. Dad and everyone, take Grandma Davis into the dining room and keep her company while I fix a snack for her.  Dad, I think she needs a drink.”

We were sitting at the table visiting when Spencer and Chip came in with Jeff.  Jeff hadn’t told them what was happening but as soon as they entered the room Spencer tensed up and Chip looked around and asked, “Where’s Grandpa Davis?”

Mrs. Davis said, “Mr. Davis died, and is getting ready to go to heaven.”

Jeff said, “Mrs. Davis wants to know if you two young men will sit with her during the funeral service.”

Spencer was having a hard time keeping control, but Jeff moved behind him and held him.  Spencer finally composed himself and said, “We’d be proud to do it.”

Beau brought in a large bowl of soup, a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich and some fruit with cottage cheese for Mrs. Davis.  He came back with tea for those that wanted it and hot chocolate with cookies for Spencer and Chip.

Mrs. Davis looked at Spencer and asked, “Spencer, is this going to be too hard for you?”

“No ma’am.  It’s just that Tyler’s and my parents just disappeared in a tornado, so all we had was a small service at the empty grave sites.”

Chip stopped eating and crawled on Spencer’s lap and held his face and said, “Spencer, that’s okay because they are already in heaven looking after you and Uncle Tyler.”  He kissed Spencer.

Spencer held Chip close and said, “Yes, I know.”

Everyone was in tears but Mrs. Davis said, “Mr. Davis wanted any memorial money to go to support your church fund for the needy.  I hope that you aren’t upset by that.”

Beau went and put his arms around Spencer and whispered something.  Spencer turned to him and said, “Go away you creep.  Grandma Davis, that would be perfect.  Maybe you could be on the Board with us.  Mrs. Hughes wants to resign, since she is going to be on the search committee for a new Father.”

Beau took over and said. “Grandma Davis, do you need anything else?”

“No thank you Beau.  I think I need to get home and get some sleep.  Tomorrow is going to be a long day.”

The guys escorted her to the door and Beau said, “If you need anything you can always reach me here or at the Gigi Baxter’s.  Here are the numbers.  Now remember, we all love you.”  Beau escorted Mrs. Davis to her car.

Beau came and said, “Jeff, we need to get Chip and Spencer home.  It’s getting late.”

The guys took off.  Everyone else was getting ready for bed and I was sitting there waiting for the guys when there was a knock on the door.  I opened it and it was Barry.  It was obvious that he was upset.

“Are Beau and Jeff here?”  Barry asked.

“They’ll be back in a minute.  Can I get you something?” I asked.

“How about a scotch on the rocks?”

I handed him his drink as the guys came in.  Both guys stopped and asked, “What’s wrong Uncle Barry?”

“Oh nothing, Mother had the bank foreclose on my mortgages and loans and she bought all of them and I own absolutely nothing.  I even have to pay her rent each month for the house.  I have to pay Jack rent for the use of the clinic and I’m leasing the cars from Kenny and Drew.  Beau the next time you get any ideas, don’t say them out loud.”

“So where are you going to get the money to pay all of the bills?” Beau asked.

“Surely Lash will pay me enough so I can afford the $4.00 a month the payments will require.”  Barry laughed.

Jeff said, “So this is the way to protect these things from disappearing in a divorce settlement.  Do Mr. and Mrs. Hendrix know? “

“Yes, and they support what is happening whole heartedly, after what Amanda did to the girls.  But that is not the reason I’m here.”  Barry sighed.

“Uncle Barry, just spit it out.  There is not much you can say that is going to surprise us anymore.”  Beau assured him.

“Beau, I’ve been thinking about your questions as to whether I was gay or not.  At first I was totally revolted by the idea, but the more I thought about it, I realized I might be gay.  But I have no idea how I’m going to find out short of cruising.”  Barry said.

Beau and Jeff both jumped up and went and sat beside Barry, and Jeff said, “Uncle Barry, don’t do that.  That could only lead to problems for you and the girls.”

Beau said, “Uncle Barry, just let any relations develop naturally.  If your wife ever got wind that you were out cruising, you would probably lose the girls and then they would be without any parents.  Just keep exercising your hand for now, but you can always watch some sites on the computer to help you relieve your pent up emotions.  Jeff honey, maybe we should check out the competition so we know what we are up against.”

Barry was laughing, “Knock it off, Guys.  Why do you two always have solutions for everything?”

Beau said, “That’s what we get paid for.  Wait until you get our bill.  I’m going to bed.  I’m exhausted.”  He caught Barry by surprise and kissed him on the lips and felt his genitals and said, “Not bad Jeff.”

Beaus kissed Jeff and me and took off.  “Love you guys.”

Barry said, “I don’t know how you keep up with him.”

I said, “I’ve got three more just like him and each of them are very different and they aren’t for sale.”

Barry stood up and said, “Thanks guys, I’ll let you know when I need my next therapy session.”

Jeff stood and hugged Barry and felt Barry’s genital area.  “Beau’s assessment seems fair.”

Jeff kissed Barry and Barry walked out the door shaking his head.  “Jack, your sons are all weird.” he said, laughing.

Jeff and I locked up and Jeff gave me a kiss and gave me a feel and said, “Don’t worry Dad, you still have Uncle Barry beat.”  He laughed and ran up the steps.

He was already in the shower when I got there; he pulled me in and started to kiss me and finally had me aroused.  He stood and said, “I think little Jackie wants to play hide and seek.”

He stood facing the wall so I could easily penetrate him which I did slowly.  When he was ready, he started to move back and forth and we both released our love juices at the same time.  When I slipped out, he turned to me and said “now see what a mess you made.”

He gave me a long loving kiss and said, “Dad, I love you.”

I whispered in his ear, “I love you more.”  I pulled him close and just held him.  We crawled into bed and after one last kiss we were out for the night.

Editor's Notes:

I cried a couple of times in this chapter, which is not all that unusual for me, actually.  I just thought I would mention it.  See you never know what you will learn when you read these chapters. This one was pretty short, but then it ended where it probably should have.
