Chapter 22
The Mover Puts on a Move

Jeff had everyone hurrying to finish all of the rooms. They had just put the last of the things into the garage when the movers arrived. Jeff answered the door and the head mover person said, "I'm Doug Rider. I have five men ready to bring the furniture in and set it up. I hope you can direct us as to where to put the items."

"Yes sir." answered Jeff.

"The first bedroom is the canopy bed set." Mr. Rider said.

"That goes to the bedroom here, on the first floor. It is down this hallway on the left. All rooms have been emptied of other things, so you should be able to put everything in the rooms." Jeff answered.

"Great." said Mr. Rider. "When everything was in the first bedroom, Mr. Rider said. "Guys, Kevin and I are going to put this bed together. Get the next room which is the twin bed set."

Jeff told the guys that was the room at the back of the upstairs hall.

They then brought in the middle bedroom furniture while Kevin and Mr. Rider were putting the twin beds together. It took all six guys to bring in the piano. They stood it on its long side while Mr. Rider reattached the legs.

When the piano was in place, Mr. Rider sent the other guys to bring in the boxes and put them in the designated rooms, while he and Kevin finished the last bed. When everything was in, Mr. Rider said, "Jeff, I am going to leave Kevin to unpack the boxes and help you with whatever needs to be done. When you no longer need him, send him home." He turned to Kevin, "Kevin, here is your paycheck since we aren't working anymore this week. I'll see you on Monday at 7:30 sharp."

"Yes sir." Kevin answered.

"Thank you Mr. Rider, please send the bill to my father." Jeff said.

Mr. Rider laughed and said, "Jeff, the charges have already been paid."

Jeff looked confused as Mr. Rider left. Jeff turned to Kevin, Toby and Spencer and said, "Okay men, time to get lunch ready. Kevin, go to the hall bathroom and wash your hands and you two animals go to Dad's bathroom and scrub good. You have been working hard today, and you all get back as quickly as possible. We have a lot to do in a short time. Move, troops."

When everyone had reassembled, Jeff said, "Toby, you and Spence set the table for eight. Everyone needs a fork a soup spoon and a regular spoon."

"Kevin, please butter 16 slices of bread on one side and put two slices of cheese on eight of the slices." Jeff was busy fixing some cream of tomato soup and some bacon slices in the microwave and then he sliced three tomatoes. He cut up some lettuce and then made eight salads with lettuce, pears and cottage cheese.

The two young boys came in; he was grating some sharp cheese on the salads. "Okay guys, give everyone a salad and go tell the brutes downstairs that lunch is ready, and find out what they want to drink."

The two 10 year olds left and came back and said, "They all want milk. We do too."

"Me too." said Kevin.

"Dad and I will have plain water." Jeff said. The other three guys came up and washed their hands and Jeff started to put the sandwiches on the griddle and the soup was heating. He put some crackers on the table.

Jeff greeted me, "Hi, Dad. Have a good morning?'

"Hi, Doctor Wilson." said Kevin.

"Hi Kevin, how's your mother?" I asked.

"Not very good. The surgeon told her that the cast had to stay on at least four more weeks, and perhaps six weeks and she is really down in the dumps." Kevin answered.

Everyone was ready to eat and Jeff said, "Okay men, pass in review and get your food."

As everyone came by, Jeff filled the bowls with soup and put a sandwich on each of their plates. Everyone sat down and ate.

"Tyler, how much more work do you guys have to do?" Jeff asked.

"We should be finished by 2:30. I will check to make sure everything is okay in the morning, after everything has dried to make sure." he answered.

"Sounds good. Dad, were you able to get everything done?" he asked.

"Yes, and Tyler and Spencer need to be at my office at nine in the morning for physicals." I answered.

That caught Spencer's attention. "Why do we need physicals?"

"Well, if you are going to live in my house, I need to make sure you don't have mad cow disease, or cooties." I answered, grinning broadly.

"Oh okay." was all that Spencer said.

Toby asked, "Can I get a physical at the same time?"

"Yes Toby, but you need to make sure it is okay with your parents and make sure you have a ride in the morning." I answered.

"That's okay Doctor, I will be here and can come with Spencer and Tyler. I am coming to exercise with you all tomorrow morning." Toby declared.

Jeff decided to stop the loss of time and said, "Everyone, take your dishes to the counter. Dad, you need to get back to work. I'll see you at five or whenever you get home. Take my car please. The rest of you get busy on finishing the construction. Toby and Spencer I want you to take everything out of the boxes in the garage. Any questions?"

Everyone just got up and left. Jeff had just finished the dishes and was starting the dishwasher when he felt two arms go around him and started to work on his fly.

"Jeff you are so gorgeous. I just want to make you feel so good." whispered Kevin.

The two guys didn't realize it, but Toby saw what was happening and ran to get the three construction workers. Toby sobbed, "That mover guy is trying to take Jeff's clothes off of him and do things he shouldn't do. Stop him before he hurts Jeff."

The three guys made a dash to the kitchen followed by Toby. When they got there, Jeff had Kevin pinned against the wall not saying a word. The doorbell rang and when Jeff saw Toby, he said, "Toby, go answer the door please."

Jeff let Kevin go, and got a chair and ordered in no uncertain terms, "Now, sit down and don't move until I decide what to do." He turned and saw the three guys standing there and asked, "What are you doing here? I thought you were working."

Drew spoke up and said, "Toby came and told us what was happening and we all came to string the jerk up."

The doorbell rang and Jeff sent Toby to answer it.

An excited Toby came back with Mrs. Tillison who asked, "Jeff, what's happening?"

Jeff held up his hand and asked, "Where's Spencer?"

"I'm right here sir." he answered from the garage door. He looked like he was sobbing.

"Spencer, why are you sobbing?" Jeff asked.

"I was coming from the garage and I saw what he was doing to you, and I was about ready to come and kick him in his private area when you turned him around and had him pinned against the wall quicker than a cat pouncing on a mouse. I was so scared that he was going to hurt you."

Jeff simply said, "Come in here, Spence, and I want everyone to be quiet. I have some things I want to say, and I don't want to be interrupted."

He turned to Kevin, "Do you realize how dirty you were making me feel? Sit still. I don't care if you are gay or not, but don't ever try to do anything so stupid around me or my guys here or anyone else, for that matter. If I hear about it, you will find yourself in the slammer faster than a closing refrigerator door. Do you understand what I just said?"

Kevin shook his head and started to stand up.

"Sit still, I am not finished." Jeff turned to Spencer and said, "Thanks for caring; Tiger and what you were planning would sure have gotten Kevin's attention if you had to do it." He then turned to Toby, "Good thinking to go for the guys Toby, but was this your problem, after that?"

Toby shook his head no.

"Then why did you tell Grams what happened and cause her to worry?" he asked.

"I was so afraid that he was going to hurt you and I guess I was just excited and thought Grams could fix it like she does everything else." he sobbed.

"You should never ever talk about someone else's problems, if you don't have their permission." Jeff said, and then turned to Kevin, "Sit still. Now Kevin, we are going to forget that this unfortunate incident ever happened, but we will remember it if you try to do something so stupid again."

"Kevin, I want you to stand up and apologize to all my friends here for doing something so stupid and interrupting their schedule."

Kevin stood and said, "I'm sorry."

Jeff took over again and said, "Okay men, you have work to do. It is already two o'clock and you heard Mr. Hendrix say you were to be at the office by three."

To be continued...

Editor's Notes:

Well, it looks like Kevin did something really stupid, doesn't it? Let's hope that he will have learned a lesson and that Jeff won't be too upset with him.

I hope I get the next chapter soon, so I can find out what happened.
