Chapter 7

“Andy, are you… oh, I heard a loud thump and then you screamed; I thought … I thought … you were in danger,” Michael stammered out when he noticed Teddy standing there as well.

“I … I’m alright, Michael; you don’t need to stay,” he managed to say, his voice quivering with need.

And he should quiver; of course, he wanted Teddy, not Michael at that moment, as much as he wanted the very air that he breathed. He knew that being with Teddy would drive him insane with jealousy — Andy counted on it, even though guilt wracked his senses.

“I’m fine Michael, I slipped on the soapy tiles and fell,” his voice was quivering because he could feel Michael’s eyes on him. He had never seen such darker eyes; they were deep, dark, fascinating, wicked, and diabolically threatening, and yet … the injured lover’s hell was there as well.

While Teddy’s eyes promised mischief and fulfillment of his raging desires… ecstasy, Michael’s gazed at him almost threateningly.

Teddy cleared his throat. “Maybe I should leave?”

“NO!” Andy said quickly as he grabbed Teddy’s arm, all the while keeping his gaze upon Michael.

‘You are jealous to the point of rage … I see it in your eyes,’  Andy thought.

‘You wouldn’t lay with him, not after you shared love with me,’ Michael’s eyes silently responded. ‘Well, two can play that game,’  he promised.

Andy had never been as unsure of anything in his life as he had been at that moment with Michael standing there, but one thing he was sure about, was that he would not be a pawn to Michael and his sexual needs either.

“Teddy, stay; Michael, would you please leave us? I’m fine, and thank you for your concern.”

“Grrrrrr,” Andy heard as Michael stalked out of the room.

“I’ll let you finish drying,” Teddy said and when he turned to leave, Andy touched his arm.

“I might slip and fall again,” he whispered and his eyes never left Teddy’s face, but his eyes … his gaze, it was like a caress.

“Are you sure?” he whispered huskily.

“Very sure,” he quickly replied with a slight edge to his voice.

“Are you alright?” Teddy could sense the skepticism in his voice.

Andy nodded.

Teddy knew that their engagement was a charade for Michael’s benefit, but he didn’t care, because right then, right there, Andy wanted him as much he was wanted Andy.

“Can I get you something … a drink perhaps?” Teddy asked.

‘I should tell him to leave; I shouldn’t be standing here naked with him, not after having been in bed with David. Andy was right, the danger was not from outside this room; it was in here … it was him and his carnal desires.’

“Your hot body would do just nicely,” Andy responded, causing all doubts that he and Andy had had to disappear.

Water clung to Andy’s body in delightful droplets. His hair was wet and disheveled and Teddy thought that Andy had never looked more handsome than he did then, when he had been most vulnerable. He looked masculine, powerful, a Greek god come to earth to tempt and tease him. Teddy knew that he should leave, but his feet remained planted, as if they had sprouted roots and held him in place.

Andy smiled an embarrassed smile, and yet, there was something moving beneath the surface that he had tried to hide, but couldn’t, because a river of liquid fire, moving as slowly as lava, was rising within him and consumed all in its path.

Andy took a step toward Teddy, Teddy didn’t move, so he took another; their bodies only a breath apart, and it was Teddy who closed the gap when his hands came to Andy’s waist, pulling Andy’s body tightly to his. Andy tilted his head back, and his eyes met Teddy’s. He could have sworn that his heart stopped … for his breath had. Teddy brushed his knuckles over Andy’s cheek, and then held his face carefully between his palms.

“This is wrong in so many ways, Andy, because we both know that you are only using me to win back Michael, but I cannot help myself.”

“Then I should go … yes?” Andy whispered as his eyes continued to hold Teddy’s.

“No,” he whispered back and bent down and kissed Andy with all the yearning in his heart and soul.

His tongue slid over Andy’s lips, grazing against his teeth, plunging and delving into his sweet hot depths. Andy’s fingers tangled in Teddy’s hair, those errant strands. Teddy’s hands moved to Andy’s neck, he felt his nape with his fingers, his shoulder blades, and the smooth length of his back. Andy was hard … muscular, and Teddy’s fingers glided over the ripples of each muscle.

Teddy felt Andy shudder, and when he felt that he should draw back, Andy pressed himself closer against him.

The towel slid from between them to the floor, and Andy was kissing him back. His tongue, a sweet torment, was deep in Teddy’s mouth; his fingers were entwined in the hair at his nape. They merged together in that kiss, and the night stopped. Time ceased to be.

When they finally pulled apart, neither of them could breathe … neither of them cared. Teddy saw only Andy’s beautiful amber eyes, which at that moment, were searing into his own.

“Andy,” he whispered, he kissed him again, and when he drew away, there was nothing left to say.

“Andy,” he whispered again, and he buried his face against Andy’s throat, against the sweet scent of the man, and when he moved again, it was to sweep his naked body into his arms, which seemed the only natural thing to do.

Andy’s arms wound round about him; his eyes, those sparkling amber eyes, remained locked with his. His fingers stroked his nape, and Teddy was dimly aware that he was shaking. He had never wanted a man as much as he wanted Andy, and Andy knew it.

Teddy knew that Andy had an eternal aching in his soul, a yearning in his heart, and he knew that it was for Michael, but at the moment, compounded his desire for Andy, he didn’t care. Because now, in the bedroom, Teddy would make their sexual experience transcend anything that Andy had ever known before … even surpassing all bounds he had ever felt with Michael ... he hoped.

He laid Andy on the bed, lowered himself beside him as Andy parted his lips and smiled, and pulled Teddy into a kiss.

Teddy was far more anxious than graceful as he maneuvered atop him. He was above Andy; Andy’s smile, mercury and stardust, met him, and their eyes remained locked as he lowered his mouth to Andy’s once again. Only then did Andy’s fingers falter. Teddy didn’t urge him to go on, afraid that the magic would be broken. He lifted away slightly and for a long moment they remained that way, close, barely touching, feeling the marvel of their bodies meeting.

When Teddy moved, it was slowly. He brought his fingers against Andy’s arm, stroking languidly, tantalizingly. There was so much to savor in just that touch. The moon was out and he could see Andy, could see every erotic curve and plane of his muscles.

Andy made a little sound and moved against Teddy, and suddenly the world was filled with brilliant color. He, like Teddy, burned with desire. It raged within him, controlling him, and there was nothing languid about Teddy’s touch when he swept his arms around Andy and felt the liquid motion of his body beneath his. Too fast, he warned himself, too fast; he likes slow and easy, he couldn’t let passion take control.

But it had.

A hoarse, guttural cry escaped Teddy, and he shifted his weight off Andy’s. He let his trembling hand roam free over Andy’s chest, and then touched that seductive flesh with a kiss, with his tongue, holding a nipple within his mouth, warning himself to slow down, ignoring that warning as Andy’s body arched upward.

Andy decided that he had gone insane; he deserved to be insane, he told himself, leading on two men as well as trying to dissuade another. He was an adult; he was mature and capable as well as responsible. Each time Teddy’s tongue rasped against Andy’s flesh, each time Andy felt the deliciously callused tips of Teddy’s fingers against his skin, Andy momentarily found paradise with him. It was new … something that he had never imagined could happen with another man … not even with Michael.

It wasn’t like they hadn’t been together before, but this; this newness was so intense that it was painful. But yet, it was so delicious that denial would be akin to death. Andy whispered Teddy’s name out loud, harshly, hoarsely. Teddy’s teeth were grazing Andy’s nipple while his fingers stroked the inner flesh of Andy’s upper thigh, and Andy seemed to become liquid, hot and molten. Andy emitted a small sound, and then a louder one, and then a searing cry as Teddy’s fingers moved to his treasure spot, his touch probed within him, deep within him. The sensation electrified Andy, and he shuddered because it felt so good … so intense.

“Open your eyes.”

Andy did, and stared at him in wonder, fascinated by the strength in the muscles beneath his fingers, enchanted with the passion he could read on Teddy’s face.

Teddy shifted again, smiling, entering Andy, and Andy cried out boldly. For a moment he was horrified at the sound, but Teddy laughed with such triumph and pleasure that Andy buried his face against Teddy’s shoulder and wrapped his arms around Teddy’s back.

Andy savored each second, each movement … each one slowly; a subtle thrust that brought Teddy deeper and deeper into him, making Teddy more and more a part of him.

Andy’s blood seemed to sing in his ears; his entire body moved to the music of his touch. He plummeted and he soared, and he silently cried, because he had to reach the pinnacle, yet Teddy held him back again and again, so that he was forced to soar again.

Finally he reached it, as did Teddy his also; a moment so high, so wonderful, so good, that light had never been so brilliant. He felt as if the stars were colliding inside him, yet he knew that he was completely of the earth. As he drifted downward like a golden autumn leaf, he smiled, because once again he could hear Teddy’s breath and his own; hear his own heartbeat and Teddy’s. Feel his flesh, damp and slick, against his own. Teddy rolled to Andy’s side and pulled his body to his. They kissed; not a lover’s kiss, but then more than a friend’s kiss. Each knew that what they had just shared was, carnal, and that love had nothing to do with it.

Andy rose up on an elbow, watching Teddy’s eyes again and praying that remorse wouldn’t set in. It would be so easy for Teddy to hate him … easy for him to feel that Andy had taken advantage of him, of the situation.

Teddy smiled and reached up and smoothed the hair back from Andy’s forehead, ran his fingers over his cheek. Teddy caught Andy’s hand and kissed his fingers.

“Damn, but we are very good together,” they both laughed, no remorse, no pangs of guilt assailed them; they were two men who had found a solution for their carnal need in each other.

“He was jealous as all hell, you know,” Teddy told him as he drew lazy circles around a nipple.

“I know, I could see it in his eyes; they were ebony and they only become that color when he’s jealous.”

“You’re playing with fire, Andy. A man who feels about you like Michael does, he’ll only take so much, before he… well, just be careful.”

Andy nodded, he knew what Teddy had said was true; he would only be able to push Michael so far before he pushed back.

“If you don’t mind, Andy, I’d like to sleep in my own bed with the door locked,” he said nervously as he glanced over at the adjoining door.

“He won’t hurt you, Teddy,” Andy assured him, “Right now; he’s at that door seething and ready to throttle me. But if you’ll feel better alone, I won’t mind.”

They kissed long, hard and deep, before Teddy hastily dressed and let him out of the room. Again, Andy heard the soft click of another door closing, and smiled as he walked back to his bed, knowing that he’d been sated well that night by both men.

“Slut, maybe, satisfied and purring, most definitely,” he whispered as he rolled to his side and fell asleep.

Andy woke late the next morning; he had showered and dressed in his favorite cargo shorts and a contrasting tee-shirt, one that showed off his physique. As he approached the kitchen, he heard voices, one was Michael’s but the other he did not recognize… James was there.

“Good morning Michael,” he said as he breezed into the kitchen as if he hadn’t a care in the world. “And you must be James, his boyfriend,” he said as he extended his hand to him. “I’m Andy, his ex,” he said.

Instead of shaking Andy’s hand, James turned to Michael with anger in his eyes. “You told me that he’d grown fat and his hair was thinning,” James squealed.

“Now Michael, when have you ever known me to be fat?” Andy asked. Michael’s eyes narrowed with anger. “You just saw me a few days ago in Vermont and if my memory serves me correctly, you even told me then… now how did you put it, oh yes, I looked like a million dollars and that time must have stopped for me, because I didn’t look a day older then when I left you.”

Andy was jealous, James was gorgeous, but he knew how to turn the tables on Michael, and turn them he did.

“My God, sweetie, James is absolutely gorgeous, nothing like the nerd you made him out to be.”

“Alright Andy, you had your fun, and you know perfectly well I never referred to James as a nerd,” he snapped.

“Well it was something along those lines … geek, maybe. James, you must be ever on him, if not, he’ll end up running you by the nose,” he told the man and then leaned closer and whispered. “Do watch out for that jealous streak in him, it’s absolutely lethal,” he said and then stood. “Now if you’ll excuse me, lovers, I’ll grab a coffee and leave you both to whatever you were doing,” he moved to the counter, poured himself a coffee and then quickly left them.

“Oh you are definitely going to earn an Oscar for that performance,” Teddy said from the shadows.

“Damn it, Teddy, must you do that,” Andy snapped.

“Do what; compliment you on your stellar performance?”

“NO! You know how much I hate it when you lurk in the shadows and sneak up on me.”

“Sorry, but I couldn’t help overhearing you and I can only imagine their expressions,” he said as he walked with Andy to a side patio.

“You should have seen the look on James’ face when he saw me,” he said chuckling. “I don’t know what Michael told him about how I looked, but I wasn’t anywhere close to it from that man’s expression.”

“What about Michael, I’m sure that he wanted to throttle you?”

“Oh he did, but what could he do, I had his ass nailed to the wall and James was ready to devour him.”

“You will pay for it, mark my words, Michael, or his anger is not one to take lightly. Even I know that much from the little that I have been around him.”

“Nonsense!” he said.

“Oh no, sweetie, you will pay and you will pay dearly for your performance.”

Andy knew that Teddy was right, but what could he have done otherwise? He couldn’t compete with James, a man who exudes masculinity and sex appeal like politicians exude charisma. He was beyond handsome; he was beautiful and had the body to go with the looks.

“Pay back time,” Teddy whispered when he saw Michael exiting the house.

“Don’t you dare leave me alone with him,” Andy pleaded.

“Oh, I wouldn’t dream of it; I’m as curious as you must be, as to what Michael has to say.

“Teddy, would you mind giving Andy and me some privacy for a bit,” Michael demanded, not asked, and Teddy nodded, got up and walked away.

‘Chicken shit,’ Andy murmured beneath his breath, as he watched Teddy almost running away.

“What was that all about, Andrew,” Michael demanded to know as he leaned over and glared down at him.

Michael had a hand on each arm of Andy’s chair and his gaze was pure anger.

“What was what, sweetie?” Andy asked in his best ‘I don’t know what you are talking about’ voice.

“You know ‘what’; that performance you just gave James and me in the kitchen. I never said any of those things you accused me of,” he shouted.

“Oh, and was I to have stood there and tolerated those awful things that you had told him about me?”

“He’s the jealous type when it came to you,” he yelled.

“You might want to lower your voice before pretty boy hears you?” he chastised Michael.

“Fat chance of that, he’s gone to a photo shoot and with no thanks to you, he left, pissed off at me.”

Michael began to walk away, but then he stopped, turned and came rushing back to Andy.

“I get it, you’re jealous as all hell, Andy. Admit it, my boy toy is prettier than yours,” he quickly added.

‘I resent that comment,’  Teddy thought from where he hid listening amongst the bushes. ‘And you had best defend my honor…’

“James, prettier than Teddy? Not even on Teddy’s worse days could James surpass his looks, and while we’re at it, Michael, Teddy has more manners in his pinky than that boy toy of yours does in his entire body. He ignored my hand of friendship; so what does that tell you about him? Huh?”

‘Bravo Andy … you are still my prince,’  Teddy whispered.

“What did you expect him to do, welcome you with a kiss and a warm embrace? To him, Andy, you are the enemy and now, so am I.”

“Oh, get over it; you and I both know that you don’t love him, you’re just keeping him around for a fuck toy. Now mister, if you want to compare apples to oranges…” he began.

‘Oh God, no, Andy, please don’t go there,’  Teddy thought, knowing perfectly well where Andy was taking the comparison.

“Yeah?” he asked glaring down at Andy, again his hands rested on the arms of the chair.

“I know you were listening in on Teddy and me while we made love last night; admit it, because I know you and your jealous nature. Well, sweetie, when it comes to performance…”

‘Don’t do it, Andy.’

“His cock is not only fatter and longer, but he knows how to make this man scream with unadulterated, erotic and sexually ecstatic insanity. Oh, don’t get me wrong, sweetheart, you were good, but … Teddy was fantastic. And another thing while we’re comparing here — you’re no sooner out and my ass no longer remembers your cock, even now, hours after we shared such passion, I can still feel his cock in me. End of story,” he said with a smile.

‘Yep, you had to go there,’  Teddy slapped his forehead with his palm.

“I didn’t know that I was in some kind of competition with your pretty boy, because if I had been aware of it, last night, while they were all out, I would have fucked you into the mattress so deep that you’d still be clawing your way out.”

‘I thought my cock slid too easily in last night,’  Teddy grinned. ‘This is much, much better then General Hospital.’

“And while we’re at it, you might want to douche with some alum; you are getting rather loose down there.”

Andy rose from his chair so fast that Michael stumbled backwards before catching himself, but not so fast that he was able to avoid Andy’s hand as it crossed his left cheek.

“You fucker,” Michael cursed and sent off a right punch that caught Andy square in jaw, causing him to fall to the ground … unconscious. “I warned you years ago, Andy, if you ever slap me again, I’ll hit you.”

Andy was lying on the ground, his face bloodied by the cut to his lip as Michael stormed away.

“Oh God, Andy, we need to get you to the hospital,” Teddy said kneeling at his side. “Andy? Michael? Jonathon? Somebody? We need an ambulance; he’s unconscious,” he screamed as Jonathon came running out one door and Michael from another. “He’s unconscious and his head is severely bleeding,” a bloodied Teddy cried out.

“I’ve got it,” Jonathon said as he punched 911 into this cell.

He told the lady who answered what his emergency was and then the address.

“An ambulance is on the way,” Jonathon assured Teddy, and then turned and lunged at Michael, hitting him square in the jaw.

“If you don’t wish to end up like your father, I would walk away while you can,” Michael said with an edge of anger to his voice and rubbing his jaw.

“I’ll see that you are arrested for assaulting my dad,” Jonathon shouted.

“He hit me first, so it was self defense.”

“Slapping you in the face is one thing, but you slugged him with full intensions of hurting him. Don’t think I didn’t see him slap you, but you were aggressive and I saw your eyes; they were evil.”

Michael raised his hand but let if fall back to his side. He knew his temper; he hadn’t meant to strike Andy as he did, but with Jonathon, he’d kill him. He still held onto the hatred and anger from Billy, and nothing would give him more pleasure than beating the snots out of his son.

“Back away, Jonathon, I’m warning you, push me any further and I’ll gladly rot in prison, for what I’ll do to you … now back off.”

He didn’t hate the boy, he loved him as a son once, but at the moment, looking at him was like looking at Billy, ten years before. He turned when he heard the sounds of sirens breaking the quiet of the suburban neighborhood.

“What’s going on here… oh fuck, what happened to Andy?” Thom asked as he hurried past Michael to kneel down beside him. “Is he alive?” he asked Teddy.

“Yes, but if I remove my fingers, the blood just spurts out of his wound here,” he said and move his fingers enough to show Thom the wound to Andy’s head.

“What happened here… how did he end up on the ground?” he asked as he pointed to Andy’s nose.

Teddy said nothing, but turned his eyes to Michael.

“Michael… what went on here?” Thom asked.

“I hit him, okay; he slapped me first in the face and I lost it. I slugged him straight to jaw and walked away. I didn’t know that he had fallen and hit his head,” he said still seething with anger.

The guilt and self loathing… that would come later.

“You know that I will have to take you in, Michael. It’s the law in any domestic disturbance, someone goes to jail.”

Michael nodded his head.

“No… please don’t, Thom,” Andy painfully said from the ground. “I egged him on, I said some pretty nasty things to him and I deserved what I got.”

“No one deserves to be abused like this, Andy. I have to arrest him,” Thom was adamant.

His eyes focused on Michael, who looked as if he was about to cry. He loved the man like a son, but Andy, he and Thom went back much further, to Andy’s birth.

“Michael, I’m sorry, for what I did earlier in the kitchen. You were right, I was jealous of James and I had to save face somehow in front of him. So I said lies that I used to cast the light from me to you. And for the other things I said, there is no comparison, Michael, you’re still the best.”

“Oh God, babe, I’m so, so sorry,” Michael was crying and his laid his head on Andy’s chest. “Forgive me Andy, I love you, I never stopped loving you, but I let my insane jealousy dictate to my head what my heart never felt.”

Andy lifted a hand and placed it softly to Michael’s cheek. He was having a hard time seeing because of the tears in his eyes.

“I…” he blacked out.

“Andy!” Michael screamed and was pushed aside so the paramedics, who had finally arrived, could attend to him. “Oh God, what have I done,” he cried.

“Michael… listen to me, he’ll be alright,” Dave, the paramedic said. “I think he’s passed out because he may have suffered a concussion,” he said trying to assure his friend.

Teddy came over and he placed both hands on Michael’s shoulders as he looked him straight in the eyes.

“Michael, Andy and I were never engaged; hell, it was just a charade to make you jealous,” he confessed. “It’s not that I wouldn’t give all I have to be loved by him as he loves you. But the thing is, he’s loved you for the last ten years. I know, I met him shortly after he left you and we talked. Oh, yes, I tried to win his heart, but no, he was too in love with you.”

“But he said…”

“That was to make you jealous and you know what, it worked. You destroyed him ten years ago with your petty jealousy. That man is only able to love one man, and thankfully for you, you’re the one he’s in love with, and always will be.”

Teddy dropped his hands and walked away as Thom came back to him.

“Arrest me, Thom, take me in and throw the book at me, I deserve it for what I did to Andy,” he said as he held out his arms to him.

“As much as I would love to right now, because of what you did to him, he’ll never press charges against you, Michael. So why have this on your record, you’re a good cop but a lousy husband.”

“Ex-husband,” he corrected Thom.

“Well, you were his husband for years and a good one until you let your jealousy drive Andy away. I know Andy; to him the sun always rose and set on you. Now pray that there is nothing seriously wrong with him, because, if there is, I’ll not have a choice but to arrest you,” Thom said and walked over to talk to one of the paramedics. “By the way, you might want to get some help for the jealousy problem,” he said over his shoulder to Michael.

“Please Lord, please let Andy be alright,”  he silently prayed as he watched his friends roll the stretcher past him with Andy on it.

To be continued…
