Chapter 2

When Andy arrived downstairs after his shower, he found the two officers conversing with Michael at the front door. They were apologizing profusely for breaking in on Andy, but they had felt that he had been in danger.

“I totally understand, Frank, and I can’t thank you enough. But, like I said earlier, it was all a big misunderstanding,” Michael told the young cop.

“Well, have a good evening, or what’s left of it,” Harold said and they left.

Michael turned around and saw Andy standing there in a thin pair of shorts and tee-shirt.

‘Damn babe, you look good enough to eat,’  he thought, but said, “I finally got them to leave.”

“I noticed,” he coolly replied. “Now, about this conversation that you so adamantly need to have, it can wait until tomorrow; I am exhausted,” he told him.

“Ah … you still have wonder boy and Jonathon in the living room,” he told him.

Andy growled.

“Not for long,” he marched into the living room and stood facing the two men. “You, up to bed,” he said pointing at Jonathon. “And you,” he paused when he sensed Michael behind him. “Thank you, honey, for coming to my rescue,” he placed his hands on Teddy’s shoulders and kissed him.

It was not a ‘friend’  kind of kiss, but one that held passion and promise. Teddy, having followed Andy’s lead, wrapped his arms around Andy’s waist, pulled him tightly to him and kissed him with fire and passion.

Michael stood with a raised brow as he looked at Andy and Teddy kissing. “You know, I am still standing here,” he growled.

“Are you… why I hadn’t noticed,” Andy remarked and leaned against Teddy, stealing a second kiss.

“Shall I stay, sweetheart,” Teddy said huskily.

Andy hadn’t minded kissing him to make Michael jealous, but to share his bed with Teddy; he was not prepared for taking the sham that far.

“I’ll be here to make sure that he’s well protected,” Michael quickly told him. “Now run along,” he was jealous, alright; Andy saw it in his eyes.

Andy knew the look; he’d lived with it for years, and he also knew what followed that look … unbridled sex.

“Excuse me, but this is my house and I say who does and doesn’t stay,” he spoke to Michael with that ‘I dare you to challenge me’ look in his eyes. “Yes, Teddy, I would very much appreciate it if you stayed,” which made Teddy’s dreams of bedding Andy come true.

“I’ll run home and grab my pajamas,” he said.

“Why, did you plan on wearing them to bed?” Andy asked.

“Well, no, but one should always be prepared in case there’s a fire,” he replied, still holding Andy to him.

“The only fire that there is going to be is in our… oops, I forgot that he’s still here,” Andy smiled coyly at Michael.

“Go home or just go away. Can’t you see that you are not needed?” Teddy boldly said to Michael.

“And who is going to make me? You? I’ve taken down men twice as muscular as you,” Michael threatened with his hands in fists at his side.

“Now, stop … give the testosterone war a rest before someone gets hurt,” Andy said with his arms spread wide between the two men.

“No one in ten years, huh?” he asked in a snippety tone.

“That’s my business, now good night, Michael.”

Andy knew that once Michael was gone, he’d be able to send Teddy on his way. But the problem was, Michael had refused to leave.

“You see, Andy, I haven’t a place to sleep, because I drove straight here from Massachusetts. Besides, you promised me that we would talk,” he added.

“I never promised you anything,” Andy quickly replied. “Fine, grab the sofa for what’s left of the night.”

He grabbed Teddy’s hand and pulled him away; Teddy shot a winning grin at Michael before he left the room.

*        *        *

“You don’t know how much I have wished for this moment,” Teddy said once they were in Andy’s bedroom.

“Well, keep wishing, because we are not doing jack, not with that door in splinters. I know Michael; he’ll be prowling the hall and listening to us.”

“Fine, I have nothing to be ashamed about,” he remarked, grabbing his crotch firmly with a hand.

“I’ve seen it, remember? And yes, you have nothing to be ashamed of. But damn if I want Michael in the hall making rude comments while we… It’s not happening, Teddy.”

“We will be sleeping together though, right?” he whispered as he looked with longing and need at Andy.

“Yes, Teddy, we’ll be sleeping together.”

Andy killed the lights, but there was still moonlight and it cast a golden glow about the room. He undressed and quickly dove into the bed, while Teddy made a spectacle of disrobing, doing a seductive dance until he was completely naked.

Andy had forgotten that Teddy had been an exotic male dancer and he had also forgotten how well endowed the man was. Teddy gyrated, his hips, causing his manhood to twirl before him. As it twirled, it hardened and when he finally approached the bed, it had reached its full nine, fat inches.

Teddy climbed in beside Andy, pulled him to him, and the feel of Teddy’s sex against his, was more than Andy could take. He climbed on top of Teddy and gazed down in his eyes, showing him that things had changed. He knew that Michael stood in the shadows outside in the hall; he could hear his raspy breathing.

“I do love a man that takes charge,” Teddy groaned when Andy reached around him and grabbed Teddy’s sex.

His hands were resting on Andy’s hips as Andy sat forward, positioned Teddy’s manhood to his opening and then began to sit.

“Enough! You’ve proven your point, Andy,” Michael yelled as he barged into the room.

He pulled Andy off of Teddy and off the bed.

“I know what you’re doing and it’s not necessary. I’ll leave, but so will he,” he told him, holding Andy’s naked body against him.

“Michael…”

“Please, Andy; don’t lower your standards just to make me jealous. I was wrong, so wrong, not just for tonight, but for so many things. Please, Andy, ask him to go home,” he pleaded with those eyes that Andy could never resist.

“Who do you think you are, to come barging into my bedroom and demanding?” an angry Andy asked as he pushed away from Michael.

“Andy’s chosen the better of us two, when he chose me,” Teddy added in, wagging his cock at Michael.

“Oh really,… you call that the better of us two?” Michael asked as he pushed his jeans to the floor, exposing his quickly hardening cock to Teddy. “One moment … just another second … taa daa,” he said as his own cock rose to it’s fullness of just over ten inches.

Teddy’s eyes were misty and he began to salivate as he gazed at Michael’s sex.

“Men, please, this had gone far enough,” Andy shouted and gasped when Jonathon entered the room.

“Are we having a ‘you show me yours and I’ll show you mine’ contest,” he happily asked, his own cock straining against the fabric of his shorts. “I can’t compete with those, but I can show them a good time,” he said as he shoved his briefs down, exposing ten inches of firm, fat cock to the men. “Now my only question is who wants it?” he asked as he looked from Teddy to Michael.

“Jonathon … there is no need for that,” Andy scolded.

“Why not, Dad? Why should you have all the fun?”

“Enough, Jonathon; you heard your father; now go to bed,” Michael commanded him.

“Yes, I did hear my father, and he’s not you, so mind your own fucking business.”

Michael had taken all the disrespect that he was going to. He grabbed Jonathon by the shirt and thrust him against the wall, his face but a breath away from the boys.

“I don’t need you to remind me that I am not your father, but I will demand respect from you … got it?” he asked with an arm crossed against Jonathon’s neck.

Jonathon nodded.

He released him and when he had turned to Teddy, Andy was back in his arms. Michael stood there stoically, Andy knew that stance, he was getting his anger under control. When he turned to face Andy, his demeanor was calm and he had a slight smile on his face.

“You were saying, Michael?” he asked.

“I meant it, Andy, I’m heartily sorry for letting you go and not following you.”

“I know you are, Michael, but the point is, you did let me go … ten years ago. It’s nearly sunrise and I would like to get some sleep.”

“I bet you would … is he staying or leaving?”

“He has a name and it’s Teddy,” he quickly reminded him. “Are you still staying … babe?”

“You know that I am; after all, someone has to protect you from him,” Teddy said, motioning toward Michael with his chin.

“How about you and I go watch the sunrise?” Andy suggested, which was also something that he and Michael use to do quite often.

“I’ll make us a coffee and we can cuddle up on the lounger,” he teased, which had the desired affect on Michael.

“I’d like that,” Teddy said.

Andy walked out of the room naked. “Hey … aren’t you going to throw on at least a pair of shorts?” Michael asked.

“Why, Teddy will only take them off two minutes after we’re on the deck,” Andy teased.

“Damn, babe; don’t give away all our secrets,” Teddy slid his own shorts off and followed him. “Would you mind closing the lights when you leave?” he asked, arrogantly.

Once he had the coffee made, poured and each of them beside each other on the deck, Andy felt suddenly awkward. He felt like he did that first time he and Michael had made love together, but this wasn’t Michael, it was Teddy.

“This feels awkward … the ex-husband coming back to his old house and us together like this.”

“I don’t feel awkward.”

“I sure as hell do.”

Teddy shrugged, which was his usual response when he did not know what to say.

“Andy, would you rather have him?” Teddy asked, not realizing that Michael stood in hearing distance from them.

“Over you, Teddy, no, I am quite happy with you … stud. Besides, I knew you were outside in the hall looking through what was left of the bedroom door; I heard you breathing and I know you Michael.”

Michael stepped from the shadows which startled Teddy.

“And what if I hadn’t, Andy, then would you have…”

“I guess you’ll never know, now, will you, because you interrupted us.”

“What kind of answer is that?” he asked.

“The only kind that you’ll get, now leave and do remember to lock up behind you.”

“Isn’t he coming also?” he asked when he saw that Andy lingered in Teddy’s arms.

“He’s none of your concern, Michael, he’s mine and he’s staying.”

Michael reluctantly nodded, left them and moved to the sofa, where Jonathon had set out a pillow and blanket.

Michael heard the sound of Andy’s voice as he talked with Teddy, and he knew that tone … he was deciding if he should go back upstairs with Teddy, while he was on the sofa, or should he say fuck  it and send Teddy home?

Andy hesitated outside on the deck for a moment with Teddy, and then entered hesitantly into the room, his hand pulling Teddy behind him. He had made up his mind … he’d chosen incorrectly for Michael, but Andy needed this night to put Michael in his place once and for all time. The past was not the past for Michael, he had proven that earlier, so Andy knew that was not ever going to be a future together.

“Go on in the room, Teddy. I want to check on Jonathon,” he whispered as he donned a robe that he grabbed from the floor.

Andy found Jonathon awake and staring at the ceiling. “Can’t sleep, honey,” Andy asked as he sat on the side of his bed.

“Why are you taunting him, Dad?” he asked.

“Who, Teddy?” he asked in returned, but Jonathon shook his head.

“You know who. Michael!” he said.

“Look, honey, Michael needs to be taught a lesson,” Andy told him but wasn’t sure if he understood why. “He came up here and thought that I would jump and welcome him back into my arms.”

“So you’ll use Teddy and possibly hurt him in the process, all to teach Michael a lesson?”

“Teddy is very cool with this, and as for someone being hurt, well, only time will tell.”

He knew what Jonathon had said was true, as well as he knew that he’d be the one hurting come morning.

“I still don’t know why you two just don’t make up and get back on with your life.”

“Another time, son, I’ll tell you why, but right now … I have a man waiting for me. Goodnight my handsome prince,” he kissed him softly on the forehead and left.

Andy paused in the hall and listened, he heard Michael downstairs growling. Andy smiled and stepped into the bedroom. Andy looked around the room when he first stepped in and found that Teddy stood at the window, he turned when he heard Andy enter the room. It seemed that they both had the same idea, because they both turned and looked at the bed.

The bed was large; a king size four poster with more than enough room, because they would sleep spooned together, Teddy thought. The early sun’s light, which filtered in through the sheer curtains that hung over the window, gave Teddy a romantic glow, Andy thought.

Andy turned and he found himself swept up into Teddy’s arms, breathless, and heedless as his heart pounded and his body thrummed with expectation. They clung tight to each other as Teddy kissed him, thankfully, there had been no clothes to worry about as they crashed upon the bed.

“I’ve wanted this ever since I first met you,” Teddy whispered and then attacked a nipple, which sent Andy’s emotions spiraling out of control.

“We’ve both wanted this,” Andy worriedly said and soon yelled out, “Oh yessssss… harder… yes Teddy… like that,” he called out as Teddy bit down on the sensitive nub.

Andy moaned, and it warmed Teddy’s heart to hear him, it had felt like eternity, since he had first seen Andy naked in the gym’s showers ... yet here he finally was in his bed and ready to make love together.

Andy’s fingers entwined with Teddy’s as he leaned against him and kissed him. Their kiss grew long and passionate; it was filled with a sweet liquid hunger. When they broke apart, they knew that they both burned within with need and only their naked flesh touching could abate the fire.

Not the abatement at all, Teddy thought, enlivened, awakened by the contact. Andy felt Teddy’s heart, his breathing, the thrumming that seemed to pulse through his body as it did his own. Teddy wasn’t Michael, who had once been everything he had ever envisioned a lover … a husband … to be, but he would do for his purpose, because he was much like Michael in body … long and hard and rock-muscled, as well as vibrant and self-assured in his every move.

A Neanderthal he was not, for Teddy was soft and tender, and he had been lost in his thoughts and startled when he looked up and saw that Andy had stopped torturing his nipples and had been staring at him.

“Hmmm, are you with me, Teddy, or in the living room with Michael on the sofa?” he asked with a scowl.

“Ouch …  I was just thinking about you, and how much I’m in love with you and wish that I could somehow take your pain,” he said.

“Teddy …” Andy began but Teddy placed a finger to Andy’s lips.

“Shhhh, now is not the time for talk, but for love, and I need you to feed this hunger in me, if only for one night,” Teddy whispered and pulled Andy’s mouth to his and kissed him heatedly … frantically, and most of all, hungrily.

Teddy realized that the hunger searing through him was but a desperate desire to please Andy, and make Andy want him as much as Andy had wanted Michael, at one time. He need not have tried…

Andy’s mouth roamed Teddy’s body and returned to his lips. Teddy explored the length of Andy’s back for the first time, rolled them over and once atop Andy, Teddy pressed his lips to Andy’s shoulders, frantically teased along his torso and slipped his fingers between them, cradling the rise of Andy’s erection.

Andy’s body jerked and trembled, his lips found Teddy’s flesh, his nipples once again, and he eased from under Teddy, moving down the length of his body. Teddy trembled and undulated, and then writhed, feeling the pressure of Andy’s body once again on his, and the seduction of his mouth and tongue. In seconds, a jolt ripped through Teddy; he cried out, twisting, tugging Andy back into his arms, finding his mouth, and then his shoulders, as he felt the jerk and ripple of Andy’s biceps, his abs, and the sheer sleek pleasure of his flesh.

In seconds they were entangled again, exploring and seeking one another’s body, and then they rolled, Andy beneath Teddy, and suddenly his sex was inside Andy, and it was as if Andy’s mind … his heart and soul stopped as one, and then, they became slick, hungry and urgent. Teddy definitely knew how to tease and seduce, and how to give, and then give way when they reached that point where satiation was a thirst that had to be quenched.

Teddy climaxed at a point of delirium, and clung to Andy, feeling the volatile shudder of Andy’s body in the violence of his climax. Andy was delirious with ecstasy, and the feel of Teddy’s arms holding him, the coolness of the sheets beneath him, and the sheen of perspiration that covered them both, as they lay entwined, Teddy within Andy still, Andy silently crying.

‘What have I done … to Teddy and to Michael?’ he mentally asked.

What had started out as a game to make Michael jealous, had turned into this … he’d betrayed Michael’s love, all in the name of revenge. He’d known that Michael still loved him; why else would he have come to Vermont? But instead of meeting him half way, he’d let years of hurt and bitterness toy with his mind, until he had found himself in bed making love with a man that he normally could barely tolerate.

It was long moments before Teddy lifted Andy’s chin, met his eyes, and brushed his lips with the whisper of a kiss.

“You are beautiful, Teddy,” he told him.

Teddy laughed, “Men are not beautiful,” he told him.

“But you are; you go beyond our friendship and put your heart in harms way to help me seek revenge, so yes, you most definitely are handsomely beautiful.”

“Hey!”

“Oh, sweetheart, it’s meant in a good way,” Andy told him.

“Thirsty?” Andy asked.

“Yes … for you, Andy,” Teddy seductively replied, and found his lips again and rolling until Andy was atop him.

‘’I’m sorry,’  Andy thought as Teddy kissed his chest, lowered his liquid caresses to his nipples and made love to them, teasing them, telling Andy not to move, which he obeyed until he had to move. He cradled Andy to him, rolling again and again, and finally making love side to side, kissing and not, moving languidly and then again with the speed of light.

When they lay at last, spent again, Andy found himself suddenly wondering at his abandon and passion, and whispering, “Can you forgive me, Teddy, because this was wrong for us to do in so many ways, it was. You know what I am saying, right?”

“I always knew that you and I were meant to be together, Andy. But I also knew that this would be a one nighter, and I can live with that.”

“Thank you, Teddy,” they kissed and after Teddy spooned Andy to him, they drifted off to sleep.

*        *        *

Andy woke later that morning, and found that Teddy had rolled away and was sound asleep. He got up, showered and once dressed, went downstairs to face Michael, and found him at the kitchen table, sipping coffee.

“I’ve made the coffee,” Michael said without glancing at him. “Are you alone or is lover boy behind you?”

“Teddy’s still sleeping … he requires the minimum of ten hours sleep, or else he’s a bear.”

“I heard you two, you know,” Andy nodded. “I guess I deserved it, coming into your life again when I hadn’t even called in ten years. I am sorry, Andy, and you may not believe me, but I am sorry about it all … past and present.”

“Can you trust and believe me, like you did before … well can you?”

“I never stopped loving you, Andy, never.”

“You did not answer my question, can you trust me, Michael.”

Again, Michael dodged the question and took Andy into his arms and kissed him.

“Damn it, Michael, will you answer me, or is your silence my answer?”

“You left me,” he shot back swiftly.

“And you divorced me before the dust had settled,” Andy reminded him, as quickly.

“You left me and took Jonathon with you, not that he had been my son or anything like that, but it was you who left, not me.”

“You didn’t follow me, you were supposed to come,” Andy countered.

“I don’t remember an invitation. I didn’t know I was supposed to follow, that it was a command performance of sorts.

“Damn it, Michael, I may have left the house and come to Vermont, but you left me long before I ever walked out.” Andy was silent a second, then said, “It seemed that you actually left the night Billy died.”

Michael was dead silent then, staring at Andy. He got up and moved to the sink where he placed his cup. After a moment he spoke, his voice deep and husky with a startling emotion. “You lied to me, Andy.”

“I lied? About what?” he quickly asked as he, too, got up and came to stand behind Michael.

“About being with Billy,” he said.

Andy was surprised, dismayed, and amazingly, hurt all over again. “I never lied to you, Michael, I wasn’t ever there, that night or any other night.”

“I saw you.”

“I don’t know who or what you saw, but it wasn’t me. Damn you, Michael, it wasn’t me and I told you that ten years ago.”

Andy realized suddenly that time hadn’t changed … anything at all. They’d had this same argument before, on the very night he had left Michael.

He turned Michael to face him and said, “We’ve had this fight before!” he reminded Michael angrily. “I got into it then with you, and I’ll be damned if I’ll get into again with you.”

Michael was silent, staring at him. Then, “I’m sorry.”

‘Sorry? Did you mean it,’ Andy wondered.

“Really, Andy, I’m sorry.”

“Sorry won’t cut anymore. You should have come after me, but your doubts and suspicions prevented you from following me. But then are you sorry that you still believe me to be a liar? Or still, are you sorry that you thought I was one to begin with? Which is it,” Andy demanded.

“Andy, I…”

“Whatever, Michael,” Andy snapped.

“I was about to say I believe you. I just don’t know what the hell happened back then.”

“I don’t know either, but I’ll tell you again, as I told you then, I was so angry with you, that I chose the sofa over going to bed with you.”

“So you said then, and yet, when the fire erupted into an inferno, there you were pulling me back from the flames.”

His voice was still incriminating and it hurt Andy all over again as it had that night so many years ago. Andy spun around and headed for the door. “You can leave now,” he turned to walk away.

“You promised that we could talk,” Michael said as he caught up with Andy at the door to the living room.

“You want to talk, Michael, well then by all means, let’s talk. But I am telling you this; I will not listen as you rehash your insults and accusations, I went through it ten years ago and again last night. I can’t do it any more. Yes, I do love you, I probably always will, but I won’t live with a man where the love and trust is one-sided.”

“Did you ever once put yourself in my place?”

“More times than you’ll ever know, and I agree, it did look as though I was interested in Billy, but I am telling you before God as my witness, I never ever slept with, laid in a bed with or any other place and had sex with him. If you cannot believe me, that is your problem, not mine. But, I will say this; there was never any real love between us if you could so easily think me so low as to cheat on you and even worst … murder Billy.”

Andy ascended the stairs, he prayed that Michael wouldn’t follow, but as it was ten years ago when he prayed a different prayer, so it was then, Michael never followed.

Andy stood at the window and watched as Michael left the house and drove away. Teddy was still fast asleep.

“Follow him, Dad,” Jonathon said coming up behind him.

“No, son, he had his chance and tossed it away.”

“But you love him.”

“You never know how much you love someone, until they are gone. I can’t be with someone who continually accuses me of things that he knows in his heart, I’m not guilty of.”

“It still goes back to my father, doesn’t it?”

“Yes, Jonathon, he still believes that your father and I had an affair, when we didn’t. It wasn’t because he didn’t want to, he did, and he had told me so from the moment you two moved into the guest house. But it was me that did not want to; I love Michael more than I ever loved anyone.”

“Then tell him that?”

“I have, honey, but he still believes what he believes and nothing that I can do or say will change his mind.”

“Can I ask you something, Dad?” Andy nodded. “How do you stay true to just one man?”

“That’s easy; you can stay true to just one man because he lives in your heart where love springs from. I’ll tell you a truth; I never once had sex with any other man since I met Michael, until last night. He’s been my knight, tarnished as he may be, but he’s still my one and only. I did love your father; how he could make my world turn, but we never went beyond experimenting when we were sixteen.”

“Had you not been with Michael, would you and father have ever gotten together?” he asked.

“In a New York minute, because until Michael came along, your father was the only one my heart ever loved. He’s still alive in here,” he patted his chest, “He’ll always be alive there.”

“You know, Dad, I read something once and you proved it true.”

“What’s that?”

“Guys are like the stars; there are millions of them, but only one can make your dreams come true.”

“Michael is my one among millions. Now, I’m going to wake up Teddy and send him home.

He placed a kiss on Jonathon’s cheek and left him. Instead of going to wake up Teddy, he sought out the guest room, Andy locked the door, and he fell onto the bed and cried.

To be continued…
